Chapter 29: Chapter 29
Mr Louis, still standing in front of his daughter trying to protect her looked at his daughter and seeing how uncomfortable and frightened she looked, his heart skipped a beat.
He immediately turned back to face the intruder shielding his daughter as much he can as he stretched out his hand, stopping him from coming any further.
"Please stay back," he muttered in a slightly trembling voice as fear was beginning to overwhelm him.
"Don't harm my daughter please."
Daisy felt her heartbeat in her mouth as she feared her dream would come to pass.
But just then, the intruder suddenly took off his mask and raised his hands.
"I'm harmless, please. Besides it's me, Richard," he stated stretching his neck to peep at Daisy behind her father who in turn looked back at him in shock. Cause he actually turned out to be the doctor who Rose had appointed to look after her.
Mr Loius turned and glanced at his daughter and seeing that she no longer looked frightened, he breathed out a sign of relief.
"Really?" He still asked to be super sure to which Daisy nodded positively.
This time Mr Louis stepped forward and stretched his hand for a handshake.
"I'm Mr Louis, Daisy's father," the man introduced himself politely even though he had so many things he was planning to spew out afterwards.
"I'm Richard," the young doctor replied as both men shook hands.
Without waiting for Mr Louis to say anything more like he already knew the latter is going to complain, he began saying, "I'm really sorry you met your daughter all alone. It wasn't intentional."
Then he continued. "Actually Rose and Cindy have been with her all along but Rose suddenly had to go meet up with Edwards cause she felt it will be better if Edward could testify that Daisy was set up. That could really turn things around. "
"Ohhh...," Mr Louis muttered thinking the idea made sense, but he still wanted to first hear the whole story of them leaving his daughter all alone in such a vulnerable state.
"I actually left a few hours ago after her tests and administering her treatments, but leaving her with Cindy. But then Cindy suddenly called me and told me to run over because she needs to attend to something urgently. It was my bad I came really late as my car broke down along the way."
When Richard was done speaking, Mr Louis suddenly began to feel guilty to have thought they would just leave his daughter all alone.
They were best of friends so there was no way they could do that too. But anyways he is human and finding his daughter in such a state, defenceless really bothered him. Leaving her all alone is quite dangerous.
He felt like asking why his daughter's medical condition was suddenly that bad but then, he had a change of mind and decided he would just take her to the hospital or invite their family doctor over.
Mr Louis felt really grateful so he once again stretched out his hand for another handshake.
"Thank you so much, doctor Richard. I really appreciate it."
He was grateful and he felt he would extend his gratitude later on to the girls. At least it was no longer the feeling of fear worry and anxiety but that of gratitude.
Little did he know that his daughter who has been standing behind him all along had suddenly gone pale while she stood there behind her dad.
After Richard had taken off his mask, he suddenly started to look like she had seen him somewhere before and not even as the doctor who had been taking care of her. And then the image of the person in her dream in a white coat will not stop flashing in her mind.
Even though she has not seen the face of the man in her dream but just his white coat she still could not dispel the fact that his height, stature and the way he looks or even his posture were just exactly like him and between, her instincts kept giving her the feel...
'Stop it, Daisy. That was just a dream and it's never going to happen so stop it get out of my head!' she tried to talk herself out of being delusional in her head.
"Alright, the angel let's go," Mr Louis suddenly said as he turned to look at his daughter standing behind him. Unfortunately, he failed to realise that she suddenly looked pale.
He took her hand and slowly they walked past Richard.
Just as they got to the entrance, Richard said from behind them, "Daisy is currently suffering from high blood pressure and some other related illnesses. Get a doctor to continue looking after her or take her to the hospital."
Mr Louis turned to look at him gratefully before the duo finally exited the building.
Once they were out, the look of concern on Richards's face suddenly disappeared like it was never there before. It was almost as if he wasn't the one that had spoken to Mr Louis just now.
Instead, he brought out his phone and made a call
"Daisy left. She's gone. Her dad came and took her way."
The other end was silent before the eerie voice replied, "Trace them and keep your eyes on them. I need to get whichever hospital or doctor they will be using for her," the person on the other end ordered so which Richard nodded positively to.
"I will do just that," he replied.
Outside, Mr Louis and Daisy got into the car before driving off out of the place and into the road.
Daisy slept immediately after she got in the passenger seat, and Mr Louis kept glancing at that from time to time feeling sad and worried for his daughter.
He then promised to watch over his daughter and take care of her himself from then onwards. He also made up his mind that he will talk to Edward himself on behalf of his daughter.
Back in the mansion, Richard seemed to still be on phone with the lady from the coasters, and he seemed to be reporting something important.
“Cindy is really weird. I needed no soothsayer to tell me she hates Daisy. She shouldn’t be so obvious hence she would give herself away easily,” he complained.
The other end simply answered nonchalantly, “If she gives herself away, then that is her cup of tea. If she’s stupid enough to get caught then I would shut her up myself. She can’t even implicate me actually, since she does not know me, nor has she seen me before.”
“True,” Richard answered. After a while, he added, “Cindy already arranged for Rose to get into an accident. She’s currently not in the house.”
“Not bad,” the lady from the other end answered. “Isn’t the plan to stop Rose from meeting Edward?”
“Yes,” Richard answered. But the next minute, the lady on the other end of the call was frowning through her mask.
“How did you know about this?” she could not help but ask.
He simply shrugged and answered, “She wasn’t careful enough with her plans,” he replied, to which she breathed out an annoyed sigh.
‘How is Cindy this stupid.’
A black SUV sped through the city of South Yarra and behind the wheels was a beautiful lady looking as restless as ever. She had the face of Rose but then one minute, she is lost in thoughts and the other, she looks pale and confused. In fact, the one behind the wheel is Rose.
But then, just as Rose was lost in thoughts as she drove, a motorcycle suddenly came out of nowhere and crashed into her. She felt her head hit hard against something making her black out immediately.
A few minutes later, Cindy received a call that the job had been done. She smirks and immediately transfers the remaining balance for a work well done.
With an evil smile on, she could not help but mutter, “Let’s see how she’s going to see Edward now.”
