Chapter 28: Chapter 28

With Daisy in his arms, Mr Louis hurriedly walked towards the bedroom door.

Daisy who initially lay silently in her father’s arms suddenly came to realize her dad was actually carrying her. Even though no one else was in the room her face still turned red in embarrassment.

“Dad?” he suddenly called out weakly. Loius who had already got to the door and was now struggling to pull it open paused when he heard his daughter call out to him. Though she felt strangely weak to her bones, she still struggled to get off her dad's arms.

Her father who did not mind carrying his daughter in his arms looked at her worriedly as she struggled to stand on her feet.

“Are you okay? You sure you can walk?” he asked worriedly his eyes watching her every move and his arms still holding unto her.

A complicated look flashed across his eyes seeing how haggard his daughter now looked just in two days. He could not help but wonder what she had gone through to suddenly look like this.

What kind of friends did she claim to have that actually had the heart to leave her all alone when she looked like this?

Anger welled up in his heart but at the same time, he did not dare to show it as the most important thing is to get his daughter out of this building and take her home where he could watch over her himself.

“You came here all alone? How is Violet?” Daisy asked her father as he patiently assisted her as they both went down the stairs.

“Today is Wednesday so she’s in school. They haven’t closed yet you know,” Louis answered while taking a quick glance at his daughter.

Daisy facepalmed and could not help but breathe out a weak tired sigh before saying, “it feels like I’ve been here for five to six days when today is just Wednesday and the incidence was on Monday, ops..”

Louis held his daughter tighter as pain crossed his heart. How did she become this vulnerable? Where the hell are her friends?

When he could not hold back any longer, to stopped abruptly and since he was holding Daisy, she had to stop too. Looking up at her dad, she was met with a pair of painful worried eyes staring back at her.

“Where are your friends? Where are they? I mean Rose and Cindy.”

When she heard that, her brows furrowed in confusion before she slowly asked, “you didn’t see any of them?”

As it is, it seemed like she isn’t aware she was all alone in the house.

“I met no one except you Daisy. No one is in this house right now. Why will they leave you all by yourself? Just why? It’s almost ten minutes since I came here and still no one yet.”

Louis sounded so displeased that her friends that claimed to be taking care of her were nowhere to be found. Anyway, he was taking her back home and nothing would stop him.

Daisy suddenly remembered she had left her phone behind so she reached out to tug at her dad’s t-shirt who was about to resume assisting her down the stairs.

“My phone dad, my phone. We left it behind.”

Mr Louis stopped and after breathing out a sigh, he decided he would first take her down so she could sit on a couch before getting back to the room to fetch it.

“You sure your phone is in that room?” He asked, wanting a reaffirmation when they finally got to the foot of the stairs.

Daisy nodded positively and after getting that, he gently took her to a couch and made her sit before hurrying up. Daisy felt her heart clenched watching her father run up the stairs and she blamed herself for everything. She should be looking after her dad and not the other way around.

The man hurriedly went into the bedroom. He did not want to leave his daughter all alone, especially not in this house but he had to get her phone and he can’t make her pass through the stress of climbing up the stairs again. So he just had to hurry and get back as soon as possible.

He had already brought out his phone and dialled his daughter’s line once again to make searching for it easier. And when it rang, it was right on top of a cabinet not far from the bed so he immediately walked towards it to fetch it before dashing out of the room.

In less than a minute, he was jogging down the stairs. He got to the couch where his daughter sat wearily before heaving a sigh of relief. But then, he noticed she was looking at the side of the stairs.

Mr Louis held her hand in an attempt to pull her up but she raised her hand and while pointing at that side she said, “that place, why am I seeing it again? I saw it in my dream now I’m seeing it again.”

His brows furrowed but then he just felt the need to get his daughter out and home so he held her and pulled her up.

“We’ll talk about your dream later, okay? For now, let’s go home,” the man said as he got his daughter to stand on her feet.

She suddenly seemed lost like she was trying to remember something before she also nodded in agreement. “yes let’s get out of here.”

They had hardly taken more than two steps when the entrance door was kicked open and a man dressed in black barged into the house. He had a nose mask on, a face cap and not to mention the sunshade he had on, making it difficult to mark his face.

Daisy’s eyes widened in fear and sweat broke out from her forehead. At once, Mr Louis jumped in front of his daughter in an attempt to shield her while pointing his hand at the intruder.

“Who are you?” he bellowed. “What did you do to the other girls?”

But then, the strange man would not stop coming loser while Daisy trembled in fear. That’s cause the man reminded her so much of the man in her dream who had pointed a gun at her head. The only difference is that the one in her dream was wearing a white medical coat while this one here was dressed in black. But asides from that, they had the same height, stature and posture. And even the way he took steady slow and frightening steps towards them…
