Chapter 27: Chapter 27

The sun was shining brightly. It was shining way too brightly that Mr Louis had to look back at his wristwatch to confirm it was just eleven in the morning.

Anyways, he parked his car right in front of the building his google map had directed him to before pushing his car door open.

Mr Louis stepped out of his car and locked the doors before walking into the house under the bright shiny sun.

Since his daughter won’t come home and he wasn’t comfortable with his baby girl being out there, he decided to come over to check on her and if luck was on his side, he would be the happiest dad if he’s able to convince his daughter to come home with him.

Stopping right in front of the entrance, he rang the doorbell once and patiently waited for anyone to come to get the door and let him in.

Yesterday when he spoke with his daughter she told him she was at Rose’s place. Since Google Maps had brought him here, he believed this building was definitely Rose’s.

Admiring how beautiful the exterior of the house looked, he could not help but feel wowed and surprised.

Anyways, that isn’t why he is here.

A minute passed and seeing no one was coming to get the door, he again rang the doorbell and waited for another minute. But still the same.

With his brows furrowed in confusion, he could not help wondering where they had all gone too. He thought Cindy might also be here, including his daughter, Daisy, so why was no one coming to get the door?

Still feeling confused and a little bit anxious, he brought out his phone and dialled his daughter’s number severally, all of which went unanswered.

Anxiety took over him and he began wondering what could have happened to his precious daughter. As he was thinking and contemplating who to call next, he raised his hand and banged on the stylish-looking wooden door but surprisingly, the door gave way and opened, just with that push.

His eyes widened, thinking that some rascals had broken into the house and some evil had befallen the girls. The door was actually opened and inside was that silent!!

Suddenly taken over by fear, he bagged in without even minding if there was any form of danger ahead.

“Daisy, Daisy!” he called out loud while rushing back and forth in the living room, in search of his daughter. Sadly, there was no response from Daisy or any of the girls.

With a heavy heart, he dashed towards the stairs and ran upstairs.

Just when he would start looking into the rooms, he heard his daughter’s distant voice scream, “daadddyyyyyyy.”

Fear gripped him and he immediately went for the room her voice came from. Thankfully, the door to the bedroom was not locked so he easily and swiftly flung it open and ran up to his daughter who was struggling and sweating on the bed like she was having a nightmare.

For a moment, he felt a little bit of relief seeing there was not much danger and that the situation he was met with was not that bad, but it still broke his heart to see his daughter that way.

Mr Louis towered over her and held her shoulders.

“It’s a dream okay, come back,” he said as he shook her back to reality.

That moment in the dream when Daisy thought she was going to die as she lay face flat on the cold floor with the gun pressed tightly against her head, she felt someone gripping and shaking her vigorously, then a familiar voice desperately calling unto her. “Daisy, wake up. I’m here. Daisy..?”

Daisy opened her eyes and seeing her dad’s sweaty face close to hers, she shot up from the bed and flung her arms around him, hugging him tightly.

Mr Louis hugged his daughter and patted her back while saying to her soothingly, “it was all a dream okay? I’m here. You’re fine.”

Daisy shut her eyes tightly and tears of relief washed down her face. She did not know why that dream had felt so real and was that long. In all, she was happy it was just a dream.

But even with that, the event was traumatizing and she felt like she had aged a few more years.

She was trembling all over and Mr Louis kept on patting her back as she leaned on his shoulder. His heart ached for his daughter. But then, he could not help but wonder why she was the only one in the whole house.

Why would they leave her all alone without even at least locking the door of the house?

Anyways, with what he had seen, Louis totally made up his mind to take his daughter back home. He would not leave without her.

He could not imagine what his daughter would have gone through if he had not walked in just now to wake her from the terrifying nightmare she was having. Just thinking about it made him sick in the stomach that he did not want to think about it again.

But at the thought that she could have been having several nightmares without anyone around her, his stomach shunned.

Just where are the people who he thought were taking care of his daughter?

He still could not wrap himself around the reason why his daughter was all alone with the door not even closed, talk more of locked.

Seeing his daughter had calmed down a bit and was no longer trembling, he loosened his grip, withdrew and looked at her face which was drenched with sweat. In fact, she was literarily drenched in sweat all over while he just had a few sweaty droplets on his forehead caused by fear and anxiety.

Looking at her face, the daughter also did the same and without giving her any room for refusal, Mr Loius stated authoritatively, “you’re coming with me Daisy,” and with that, he took her in his arms before making his way to the bedroom door.

He would get his daughter out of there and take her home.
