Chapter 20: Chapter 20
Rays of sunlight shone through the curtains and directly on the face of the young woman sleeping peacefully on the couch. The curtains were made of yellow materials and therefore, they cast a yellow glow on her face, making her look like the sunrise beauty, and giving her a peaceful look.
There on the couch, Daisy appeared like she had the whole world behind her like she had everything figured out already.
At this point, one could easily not believe and even argue that she had almost lost her mind the night before. Cause as she lay fast asleep on the couch, breathing softly, she looked way too peaceful for someone who was in a very terrible mess.
Cindy walked out of the room she had slept in the night before.
Majestically walking towards the entrance like she owns the building, she suddenly caught sight of the sleeping beauty on the couch and she stopped in her tracks. It was after looking around, slightly confused for a while did she remember where she was and why she was currently in Rose's house.
“Oh, I’m still at Rose’s,” she mumbled softly, changed directions and began approaching the couch.
After last night’s drama, Rose had left for the bedroom and she also went to the guest room to have a good night’s rest. Shortly after she entered the bedroom, Rose came looking for her and informed her not to wake Daisy or tell her to use a room but just let her sleep on the couch.
Rose explained she didn’t want to wake her so she didn’t want Cindy to wake her too.
The doctor had said to let her sleep through and that was what she was trying to do.
As Rose instructed her, Cindy simply nodded.
Not like she even planned on going to check up on her or get her into a room.
They had all slept downstairs and the first floor was empty of humans.
Unlike Rose, who left her room from time to time to check up on Daisy, Cindy didn’t leave her room even for a second all through the night.
Cindy drew closer and stopped by the couch. She stood and stared down at Daisy as she slept peacefully. She could not help but scoff.
“She actually is sleeping on all these messes…? Wow,” Cindy chuckled slightly but immediately stopped herself.
Remembering how the doctor from last night wouldn’t stop looking at her suspiciously till he left last night and even when he had asked why she was smiling, she said nothing. Cindy decided to keep her chuckling to herself.
‘It would be bad if Rose sees me do that,’ she thought.
Just then, it suddenly occurred to Cindy that she had not gone online that morning to check how terrible things are now. She knew by now, things would have hit rock bottom so feeling ecstatic, she hurried back to her room.
Unknown to her, someone was standing in the hallway of the first floor, staring down at her, her expression unreadable.
Cindy went into the room she had passed the night and immediately reached for her phone. She put it on, put on her data and almost immediately, notifications came pouring in like she is the person in concern. She went online and just as she thought, the situation was really bad and it was currently the top trend.
Daisy had never trended this much even as an award-winning actress, but right now, it was the hottest news in the whole of Australia. She was trending so much for something so despicable.
Every social media and news blog where talking about how the award-winning actress cheated on her boyfriend on their anniversary night.
Now, a few people were beginning to ask who the guy she had cheated with was, which Cindy is also interested in.
She so badly wants to know who this guy Daisy had slept with that night cause from what she saw in the video, he sure is going to be a very sexy-looking man. She really wanted to see what he looks.
Suddenly, Cindy stumbled across a piece of news. It was a post made by Finn’s media that different news channels were currently sharing. As expected, Daisy had been kicked out and blacklisted, never to appear on camera or be featured in whatever movie ever again.
As Cindy’s eyes stared fixated on the post, a smile broke out on her lips.
“Yes! Is this not the end of Daisy? Oh how has the mighty fallen,” she chuckled to herself enjoying how far her friend got ruined.
Her phone suddenly rang. Seeing it was director Calson, she chuckled again.
He had made that post without informing them beforehand. She was pleased cause if he had told them, she was sure Rose would have gotten to the company, and tried all she can to make sure they don’t make such a post.
Anyways, she still had to put up a pained font so she wouldn’t seem or sound suspicious.
Settling a fake deep frown on her face, Cindy picked up the call and immediately lashed out at whoever was at the other end.
“You made such a post without informing any of us. Now you’re calling!” she said through gritted teeth.
The other end was silent for a while before he decided to talk. “I called Rose severally but she didn’t pick up.”
“But you didn’t call me!” Cindy sounded furious.
Carlson replied shortly afterwards. “Do I have to?” he scoffed. I already made the post. Good luck and make sure Daisy doesn't drag you into this mess too.” And with that, he ended the call.
Once again, Cindy’s furious face disappeared and was immediately replaced by a very wide grin.
She loved how terrible and unsavable things had become.
‘Oh, Daisy is gone.’
Cindy so badly wanted to go out and celebrate this victory.
She had kicked Daisy out of the way.
Cindy has always been jealous of Daisy and had always harboured this hatred and bitterness towards her. Anyways, she had cleared her out of the way.
Thinking of how high and mighty she had always seen her friend, Daisy to be, Cindy could not help blurting, “Loser!”
Suddenly, something occurred to Cindy.
‘Rose.’
Does she not like Daisy so much and would not still rest and accept the fact that Daisy had fallen? And would not stop but try hard to help her back up?
Cindy chuckled as a dark glint flashed across her eyes.
She would inform the lady from the Coasters that Daisy has a sister who loves her so much. Probably she could use this situation to bring down Rose too.
Cindy began to think hard about it.
If Daisy and Rose are out of her way, she would shine more brightly. She had never thought about it before, but now, she had become crueller and greedier.
