Chapter 19: Chapter 19

That night was a really long night.

Cindy and Rose tried all they could to coax Daisy and put her under control before the doctor arrived. When Rose called him, he had told them to make her sit down and get her a glass of water. He also instructed them not to talk about the incident with her or let her say anything further.

“Just let me see the comments. I just want to see how bad things are. Am I not the person in concern? Rose just give me my phone..,” Daisy went on and on. She had been pleading for them to just let her have a look but they wouldn’t.

The doctor had instructed them not to.

“Okay okay, what’s all this? Aren’t I the one with the problem?” Daisy suddenly yelled and flung Rose’s hands that were holding hers and Rose gasped.

“You both listen to me,” Daisy stated through gritted teeth as she rose to her feet.

Rose stood up too while Cindy remained seated, staring at the angry Daisy bewildered.

“I am the one with the problem,” Daisy yelled once more, pointing fingers at her friend.

Rose was stunned.

“You guys promised to help me out, wasn’t it? But what happened in the end?”

“I can’t believe you guys still want me to rely on you! At this point, I need to handle things myself. So give_ me_ back_ the_ phone_,” Daisy said the last sentence menacingly, her right hand stretched out to Rose and her angry eyes fixed on her.

Rose stared at her dejectedly and feeling hurt, her grip on Daisy’s phone tightened.

Staring straight at Daisy, Rose said, “I won’t Daisy. I’m just trying to help you out here, okay? Now sit down.”

Rose's eyes reddened slightly while she spoke.

Seeing she couldn’t get back her phone, Daisy scoffed and tears gathered in her eyes. She then stared at the wall ahead.

“Wow,” Daisy scoffed again. “Just wow.”

Then she looked back at her friends once more and smirked.

“It’s fine. You can have my phone for as long as you want. When you’re done with me, give it back so I can know the way forward. I have to pick back the remaining pieces of my life.”

She spoke as if her friends were enemies. It was so unlike her.

After blurting those words out, she turned and made her way for the bedroom.

Rose stood on a spot, lost. Her face looked hard and as much as she tried to conceal her expression at that point, the hurt was still evident on her face.

‘Did Daisy just say all those?’

Cindy looked deeply shocked, but deep down, she was excited.

One thing she had always wanted is for there to be a falling out between Rose and Daisy. Rose had always been on her way, slowing down her process of ruining Daisy. If not for Rose, she would have been the closest to Daisy.

She really wanted them to have a falling out. At least, they wouldn't be this close any longer and then that would make way for her.

But anyways, Daisy is at the end of the cliff now and would fall off anytime soon, so all those are no longer necessary.

Rose suddenly turned and seeing Daisy already made her way far ahead for the bedroom, she dropped Daisy’s phone which was initially in her hand on a stool by the couch before going after her. She soon caught up with her and immediately, Rose held unto her arm.

But then Daisy immediately flung her hand off as if on impulse.

“Let go,” Daisy barked at her and Rose’s eyes widened.

This time Cindy’s eyes too widened and she was extremely bewildered.

‘Is all these just because Daisy’s losing her mind or there’s something else?’ she could not help but wonder.

She thought Daisy’s reactions and all were strange and becoming way too extreme for them to just be because she was triggered by the sad news.

Anyways, Rose again held her arms still.

“The doctor will be here soon so please come with me and sit down. I will give you your phone,” she tried to coax her who looked like she would lash out at her soon.

“And why is a doctor coming over?” Daisy eyed Rose menacingly that the latter was rendered speechless for seconds. Later on, she answered, “you need to watch your blood pressure remember? You’re putting too much pressure on yourself.”

“I would do nothing to hurt you and I know you know that deep down,” Rose smiled sadly as she spoke.

Rose ignored the daggers she kept sending her way with her eyes.

“Your phone is over there,” Rose pointed at the stool by the couch. “Come and sit down please,” Rose said softly her eyes reddening slightly.

Daisy eyed her, shoved her hand off her arms and marched towards the couch.

Cindy stared at Daisy as she drew nearer. Under the lights, she couldn’t believe who she was staring at cause at that moment, she could almost qualify Daiy as a mad woman.

With her scattered hair, hostile expression and red eyes, she looked really bad, like someone who the world had suddenly crashed on which is what has happened to her anyways.

Daisy walked towards the couch leaving Rose standing and staring at her with a hurt-filled expression. Just as Daisy was close to the stool, Rose suddenly said, “Cindy, take that phone.”

Cindy who was lost and feeling all giddy and excited deep down froze for a while when she heard that. Seeing Daisy suddenly rushing to get her phone, Cindy snapped back and immediately reached out for it. She took it before Daisy could and she immediately got up afterwards.

Still, Cindy internally cursed herself for acting on impulse. She should have slacked a bit and let the bitch have her phone so she can see the raucous about her online.

Daisy glared at her and stretched out her hand towards her. “Let me have it,” she said through gritted teeth but Cindy shook her head as she glanced at Rose who was drawing near behind Daisy.

Just then, the sound of a car driving in was heard.

Rose who was standing behind Daisy breathed out a sigh of relief but Cindy was disappointed.

Rose suddenly held Daisy from behind and made her sit back on the couch. She was caught unaware so Rose did that effortlessly after which she took Daisy’s phone from Cindy before turning to stare down at Daisy who was fuming while staring at them.

“I just want to believe everything you said was because you were triggered and unhappy cause you’ve never said things like these before. The doctor would run a thorough test on you and you’ll be fine,” she said while Daisy glared at her.

The door soon opened and Cindy’s bodyguards that have been hanging outside led the doctor in.

When Daisy saw the doctor, she sprang to her feet immediately as if she had just seen a monster.

“Don’t even come anywhere near me?” she yelled so loudly that Cindy flinched.

‘No something had definitely gone wrong with Daisy and at this point, Cindy decided she would ask the lady from the Coasters if she knew what had happened to her. It seemed that there was something more that she is unaware of.’

The doctor stopped in his tracks and froze on a spot.

Rose shot the bodyguards a look and they left immediately, shutting the door after them. The doctor soon recovered and looked at the two ladies standing behind Daisy.

“Hold her down. I would have to give her a shot before I can do anything,” he said and Daisy’s eyes widened. She turned alarmingly but Rose was faster.

She gripped her shoulders and seeing that Cindy held her hands immediately and the two immediately successfully made her sit down.

Soon she began to struggle, but there were able to pin Daisy down who kept struggling and throwing a serious tantrum.

Cindy couldn’t hide her surprise anymore while Rose just stared emotionlessly. She seemed unfazed like she was way too hurt by Daisy’s words from earlier.

The doctor was able to give her a shot in her arm and seconds later, her lids became heavy that she shut them. She dozed off shortly afterwards and fell into Rose's arms.

Rose stared at her face for a while, while Cindy stared at Rose.

Daisy suddenly looked peaceful.

Shaking her head, Rose made her lean on the armrest instead before getting up and facing the doctor.

“What next?” Rose asked.

The doctor brought out some pills and handed them to Rose.

“Just leave her to sleep for as long as possible. Then put these pills in her glass of water. Make sure she drinks in and she will be fine.”

Rose nodded and took one last glance at Daisy sleeping on the couch before walking away.

Cindy stared at Rose and her eyes trailed after her till she disappeared into the room door.

She could not help but smile.

She knew Rose was hurt and she really hoped they fall out. That is what she has been praying for anyways.

Unknown to her, the doctor was gazing at her with mixed feelings, wondering what was making her smile.

When Cindy turned back to look at Daisy, her eyes met with the doctor’s and she froze.

Her face stiffened and her smile slowly died down.
