Chapter 18: Chapter 18

This definitely was the end.

Tears streamed down Daisy's face as she remained sited on the grass.

Rose who had got up tuned to Cindy and asked calmly, "what happened?"

With reddened eyes, Cindy answered "I really don't know. I really don't understand. But right now, the internet is in chaos."

As she spoke, Daisy listened while she just stared ahead. Then her eyes dropped to Cindy's bare feet and she suddenly laughed stunning the two ladies.

"Why are you barefooted? Just look at your feet on the bare ground. You're a very foolish girl."

The two ladies were more than stunned this time around. That was extremely strange.

Daisy looked up and laughed again as tears streamed down her face.

"You should have at least put on some slippers dummy," she giggled.

Cindy's eyes widened and she immediately crouched in front of Daisy as she clutched the laters' arm.

"Hey, are you okay? What's wrong with you?"

Daisy withdrew her arm from her friend's grip before glaring at her.

"You really a dummy," Daisy eyed her. "How do you expect me to be fine? Stop asking me stupid questions."

Cindy looked up at Rose her eyes still wide open to see Rose running into the house. She looked back at Daisy and not knowing what to do, she placed her hands and her shoulders.

Not like Cindy does not know what to do. She knew Daisy was losing her mind and she needed help immediately, if not it could get worst, but anyways, that's what she wanted.

Cindy was never aware of all the bottled-up hatred she has against Daisy till she started to go against her.

She really wanted her below the ground.

Daisy made to stand to her feet and Cindy was so tempted to make her sit back down. But then she wasn't sure of how bad she had lost her mind.

'What if she recovers and remembers I was suspicious?'

Daisy got up to her feet and Cindy immediately got up to assist her. Then she made her way into the house while Cindy pretentiously supported and guided her into the house.

Immediately they stepped into the living room, there was Rose standing just at the center on a call with someone.

Rose had immediately run in to get her phone to call her private doctor.

Minutes later, Rose dropped her phone and rushed over to them anxiously.

She immediately gripped unto Daisy and said hastily, "quick, let's make her sit on the couch over there. I called my doctor already and he would soon be here. He said to make her sit down and get her water," she said frantically and Cindy immediately got into action like she cared as they both led her to sit on a couch.

Once they successfully made her sit down, Cindy let go and rushed to the kitchen leaving Daisy in Rose's care for the following minutes. It made her feel bitter.

***

Wesley was home in his study busy with work when he suddenly heard a knock on the door.

Wesley raised his face which was contorted in a deep frown. He was confused for seconds before he remembered Andrew was in his home. He was surprised at himself that he had forgotten such but anyways, Andrew was the one who had insisted on staying in his home instead of lodging in a hotel.

He has no problem with that anyways.

What's more, they are more like brothers.

Without awaiting a response from Wesley, Andrew pushed the door opened and walked in wearing one of Wesley's grey pyjamas to which Wesley immediately showed his displeasure with a deeper frown.

"My pyjamas?"

"First it's my house and room, now it's my pyjamas," Wesley complained to which Andrew looked unbothered.

Wesley dropped his pen and crossed his arms around his chest.

"What do you want? What are you looking for?" he eyed Andrew and the latter ignored him still as he took a walk around his study.

Wesley was disgruntled.

If eyes could kill, Andrew would be twelve feet below the ground.

When Andrew looked back, Wesley was staring at him with a scowl on his face and his arms crossed. Andrew could not help but burst into laughter at Wesley's expression.

"Stopped that right now," Andrew laughed feeling amused.

"I can bet all your women will flee if they see this expression or look from you," he mocked but Wesley did not look like he cares.

Not many know or have seen how good of a brotherly relationship between Wesley and Andrew is which is entirely different from the boss-to-assistant relationship everyone else sees.

The humour they share is so sweet and contagious that anyone who gets to see a glimpse of their brotherly relationship would surely smile.

In the end, Wesley could not help but chuckle as Andrew went on laughing and mocking him.

It could be said that Andrew's laugh was contagious.

When the laughing died down, Andrew walked over to Wesley and sat opposite him.

"Actually, I came to tell you something," he said and Wesley gently relaxed into his chair.

"You've finally decided to. I've been waiting."

Andrew gave him a look but he continued anyways.

"That Josh guy didn't tell the whole truth."

"I know," Wesley answered immediately, nonchalantly.

Andrew stared at him surprised, then he crossed his arms and asked. "Why then did you not torture and press him further back in the warehouse?"

Wesley knew Josh was holding back some truth but he didn't press further, Andrew thought that was unlike him.

In the end, Wesley chuckled and picked up a pen.

"James Johnson is the root. He already gave me the main point which is, 'James sent him.' I just have James to cut off and Josh would be nothing. It's just like killing two birds with one stone."

Andrew gazed at Wesley.

He agreed with his boss, but at the same time, he disagreed.

In the end, he decided to say what was on his mind.

"I don't think the prime minister is the only person needed to be cut off. I feel Josh is going to be a problem later on," he said.

Wesley narrowed his eyes.

He had the same haunch, but he thought it was irrelevant to him.

"Why then did you let him go?" Wesley could not help but ask.

"You did remember?" Andrew smirked and Wesley rolled his eyes. "I'm serious here dude."

Andrew breathed out a sigh before saying, "I let him out to let him do what he wants to do. We can't hold him, hostage, now. He has done nothing extreme for now."

They were both silent before Andrew suddenly took out his phone, unlocked it and flipped it to his front. Wesley stared down at the phone that was suddenly passed to his front before looking up at Andrew.

"Why?" He asked.

"I was going to show you...," Andrew nudged his chin at Wesley to look at the phone.

Wesley looked back down and shrugged before taking the phone from him.

After reading the first five comments displayed on the screen, he looked back up at Andrew.

"Why are you showing me this?" He could not help but ask the guy in front of him.

"This has been on since the leaked video this morning. You told me yourself this morning," Wesley said as he dropped the phone on the table.

"It happens to be a lot worse than this morning. The internet is hot right now and things suddenly skyrocketed this night. It's a bit suspicious," Andrew said.

Wesley stared at his friend, wondering why he was bothering himself with matters regarding the entertainment industry. But he chose not to say a word. He would know why later anyways.

So without arguing, Wesley picked back up the phone and to his surprise, the five comments he read less than a minute ago had been replaced by new and more comments.

Wesley watched the comments increase drastically. New comments came popping up.

It seemed like some haters that were earlier suppressed somewhere were suddenly let loose.

He himself found it alarming.

It seemed whoever was against Daisy is really dogged and is pushing so much to make sure she was totally ruined.

Whoever is against her is really on the verge of cutting her off for good.

"This is the work of internet ghostwriters," Wesley said as he passed the phone back to Andrew.

"I know," he replied as he took back his phone.

"To me, it's for the best if Daisy gets kicked out of the entertainment industry. Too many people are against her there and I guess she might get blacklisted by tomorrow. She should leave that place," Andrew muttered and looked up to see Wesley staring at him curiously.

Andrew chucked and said, "I know you're wondering why I'm interested in their affairs."

Wesley shrugged, "I am and I'm waiting for you to say something."

"Some despicable things her happening in Daisy's circle," Andrew scoffed.

"So, why is that'll bothering you? What's your business with those?" Wesley raised a brow.

If not because Andrew has a girlfriend to which he is so dedicated, Wesley would have concluded that Andrew probably liked Daisy or one of them.

"It's Sarah," Andrew suddenly answered with an air of distress.

Wesley was confused. Sarah is Andrew's girlfriend for over two years now and he did not understand what Sarah got to do with this whole scenario.

But then, something suddenly crossed his mind and he immediately asked Andrew. "Is Sarah entering the entertainment industry?"

Andrew shrugged. "Well, she told me something like that three months ago I guess... but that isn't the problem right now."

Wesley shot him another look. "So what then is the problem?"

Andrew was silent for a few seconds, later on, he answered, "Sarah has changed. She's been acting weird for the past three months."

Wesley was quiet, then he asked, "and what do you think is the problem?"

Andrew breathed out a long sigh.

"She's been in contact with someone that I find rather really suspicious," he stared at Wes solemnly.

"Who?" Wesley asked.

"Daisy...?"

Andrew shook his head negatively and answered, "Rose. Rose Johnson," he said.
