Chapter 34: Chapter 34

This morning, Aaron woke up in an unusual state.

Do not be too happy yet. Everything didn't turn out the way you expected. But you can be pleased a little because the progress of their relationship was improving.

The beautiful view that was presented in his room satisfied his eyes. A rare sight that was previously only his wish. Helena. Of course. The woman made his morning so pleasant that a big smile appeared on his cheerful face.

Oh, their sex didn't happen—if that's what you expect. Helena and Aaron only slept together and in the same bed. Just that. But apparently, that fact had brought a warm swish to his chest. Finding his woman fast asleep beside him made his heart relieved.

He glanced briefly at the clock on the wall before leaning his body closer toward his wife. There was still enough time for him to enjoy this situation. Slowly, he slipped one of his hands between Helena's body and the bed she was sleeping on while his other hand rested on her stomach.

Although done gently and carefully, his movements still disturbed her peaceful sleep. Those eyes began to move restlessly. Soon, those eyelids opened and revealed the brown color that had always been his favorite.

"Sorry for waking you up," he regretted, not moving an inch from his position.

Helena gave a soft mumble in response. Presumably, her consciousness hadn't fully recovered because she didn't know why Aaron had to apologize to her. She realized it once his embrace tightened and a lightning peck landed on her cheek. Inevitably, a tinge of red color appeared on both of her cheeks.

"I love you."

The sentence rang beautifully in her ears and muffled any protests she was about to make. Her mouth seemed to be locked by a series of words that she knew, for sure, were true. Apparently, she wouldn't be able to get used to it. Her heartbeat was getting faster as those words of love were thrown out suddenly.

Aaron smiled amusedly by watching the change on his wife's face becoming more apparent. Not to mention the silence of the woman in his arms. She looked like to just accepting the treatment from him. Or maybe she enjoyed everything. Oh, let's just say so.

"How was your sleep last night? Was it good?"

In doubtful, Helena nodded her head. She was embarrassed, of course. This was the first time anyone other than her family or close friends had seen her waking up face. And the thought that he might have been watching her sleep all night instantly made her want to hide her face. She must have looked lousy while sleeping, especially for him.

This time, Aaron could no longer hold her laughter anymore. He chuckled when he saw her reaction, which he thought was funny. His fingers couldn't help but move and pinch his wife's nose. "You know what, honey? You can be hiding in my arms as long as you need," he teased.

Her lips pursed. Aaron was an expert in taking advantage of all situations. Even in this helpless state, he still teased her.

She had to run away, or her body's response grew out of control.

Helena began to shift her body and tried to escape from his hand. However, he wouldn't just let her go. He immediately grabbed her before there was even a distance between them. And now, their position changed with Aaron on top of her.

Her breath caught fast. This position reminded her of a similar situation that had recently been happened. "Y-You have to work." She said, a bit stuttering. It was her paltry attempt to break free from his arms and intense gaze.

"It's still early, honey. I want to see your beautiful face longer," Aaron replied, launching his seduction. Yes, that was a sincere compliment for her appearance, which for him always looked beautiful.

She pursed her lips again. Those words, though made her heart happy, there was a suspicion tucked in. Which woman would look pretty right after waking up? "Don't lie," she said, looking back at him sharply.

A frown was printed on his forehead. "Lie?" He parrotted.

"Yeah, that's a lie. No woman will look pretty when she wakes up."

After hearing her reasons behind her 'lie' accusation, his confusion disappeared. Apparently, his wife was like any other woman who cared about their appearances.

He smiled and then kissed her cheek. "In my eyes, you always look beautiful. Whether you sleep or wake up, you're still beautiful. Even when you're angry, your beauty is still visible, and it's even more tempting," he joked at the end of his sentence.

Helena pinched his stomach a bit hard. What did her husband mean by tempting? She was not a seductress!

"Look, you're seducing me."

And her pinch tightened as she shouted, "Aaron!"

Aaron laughed. But, it didn't last long because it turned out that her pinch was getting painful too. "Okay, honey. I'm sorry. It hurts." He said in a voice made as pitiful as possible, though a laugh still occasionally escaped his lips.

Helena heard it. She loosened her grip and then pulled her hand away from his body. It felt like she couldn't bear to see his whine right in front of her face. It was very close as if her freedom to breathe had been snatched away.

Once again, she was wrong if she hoped Aaron would immediately let her go. He tightened her hug while saying, "You're the most beautiful and best woman I've ever met. I love you. Love you very much." Then a kiss landed on her exposed shoulder. "You know I won't lie about this, right?" he added.

Spontaneously, she nodded. Helena obviously knew the truth of what he said. Her husband was too straightforward to show his affection. So, without saying a word, she knew that Aaron would only love her and place her in a special place inside his heart. Vice versa.

"You don't want to answer that?"

"Huh?" Like an idiot, she replied.

"My confession. You don't want to answer that? It's been a long time since I heard the word love from you." He said it right in her ear and gently blew the air there.

"Stop it, Aaron. It's tickling." Helena writhed in ticklish as a result of his actions.

"Answer me first."

"No."

"Then I won't let you go." And Aaron increased the intensity of his doing until her laughter came out irregularly.

"Stop it, Aaron." Her voice was not clear.

"I'm waiting for your answer."

Helena finally gave up after struggling for a long time with his attack and the tickled it caused. Her body was numb. He was really an expert at teasing her. "Okay. Okay. I give up." The white flag she waved in between her erratic breathing.

Aaron returned his gaze to Helena. He looked deep into those eyes. "I'm still waiting," he reminded her.

Her eyes moved restlessly. Helena was shy and nervous at the same time. If men were usually difficult to express their feelings, then this time, she took the role. Helena was not like her husband, who could easily express his feelings. She preferred to show it through her care and action.

Her lips closed tighter. The words were already on the edge of her lips. But why was it so hard to get out? It was as if an invisible brake had stopped her from saying those words.

However, she had no other choice, right? She didn't want to imagine what he would do to her if she delayed it too long.

"I love you too."

And Aaron closed that confession of love with a long, deep kiss.
