Chapter 33: Chapter 33
Helena's fingers danced beautifully on top of the keyboard, pouring all her thoughts into a row of words lined up neatly on the laptop screen. Sometimes, she pressed the backspace key and repeated the sentence. Not infrequently, she also stopped for a moment to find the correct series of words to include in her writing.
Helena had been struggling with her laptop for quite a long time. She hadn't written in a long time. Also, Helena hadn't looked at her blog for a long time. She didn't know how was it now? Was it getting more and more readers, or had it turned quiet because it had been left on for too long?
She wrote the recipe that would be included in her blog. She also added the story behind the making process to make it more interesting. No less important, she also wrote a review from her husband so that the spice of the drama was more pronounced.
Helena closed her worksheet as she felt she had had enough and had nothing to add to it anymore. What she had just written was still a raw draft. It still needed the editing process and added photos as an essential part of the article. It was impossible for her to only publish the article without pictures, right? Her readers could get bored. After all, images were also needed so that they knew what the food looked like.
She had never hired a photographer to take the pictures she would use on her blog. She did everything herself, including the editing, which took up much time. She had intended to make it her own personal blog from the start, although now she was also monetizing it. Still, she wanted to maintain the unique element. And that was the way it brought her closer to her loyal readers.
Helena glanced at the digital clock in the corner of the screen before closing the white laptop on her lap. Eleven o'clock at night. It was her bedtime. But why wasn't she sleepy yet?
She moved her laptop onto the nightstand near the bed. Then she laid her body on the bed. She tried to close her eyes. However, it did not last long. Her eyelids still wanted to be wide open. It seemed that drowsiness had not whacked her.
Her mind then wandered to many things. Starting from questioning the sleepiness that hadn't come, even though it was almost midnight. After that, she rethought her writing. Then, it turned to wonder if Aaron was asleep at this hour. Finally, her mind was fixed on plans for a vacation to Switzerland, which automatically reminded her of Aaron's request.
She had not provided an answer yet. She just said, "I'll think about it." And as she said, she was thinking about it.
Not that she didn't want to go on vacation with her husband—in fact, she took Aaron on vacation to Switzerland, right? But it was more about her readiness to face that situation. Their holiday would only occur in the next four months in her imagination. And if she agreed to his wish, things would happen faster. Two weeks later.
What should she do? It seemed that if she didn't do something on their first vacation, her relationship with Aaron would be challenging to be better. It would merely revolve around the same as their daily activities so far. Chatting, eating together, watching movies while hugging, and at most only touching each other's lips.
She didn't want to lie. The longer Aaron seduced her, the more she was getting tempted. Inevitably, she wanted more. But was she ready to do that?
She let out a heavy sigh. She didn't even dare to share the same room with Aaron yet. She didn't know what possessed him so that he wasn't fussy about any of her requirements. Or not yet? Although the more he hugged her, the more she wanted the same thing from her, including while sleeping.
Of course, she didn't dare ask for it. What she was afraid of was that the hug would eventually spread everywhere. Aaron was the most expert at seducing her body. His touch was gentle and always managed to arouse her sensual point. Oh, no! She must be crazy to think about that.
Helena changed her position to the right. The same thought was apparently still entrenched inside her mind. She might have trouble sleeping while thinking about her husband's request. After a long time engrossed in her own thoughts, she finally realized something. What did Aaron expect when he asked that question? She hadn't asked him about that.
Then she rose from her position. She planned to ask Aaron directly. It looked like he hadn't slept yet. She had not heard the study room's door open. That meant her husband was still there, right?
She slowly opened the door to her room and made as little noise as possible. She did the same as she walked toward the study room and pressed the doorknob.
"Still working?" she asked the man who sat in a chair with a few files strewn on the table. She peeked through the gap in the door that didn't open wholly.
Aaron raised his head, then smiled after seeing his wife's whereabouts. "Yes," he simply answered. "Come here, honey," he said softly.
Suddenly, her heart beat faster when she heard his call for her. She stepped into the room and closed the door behind her without thinking. "Not sleepy yet? It's late." She said while walking towards him.
"A few more minutes," Aaron replied. His hand showed a gesture for her to come closer. "Come here, baby." That seductive tone he tucked there.
Helena slightly pouted hearing that but did not refuse his request. Now she was standing right next to the man.
And it was still not enough for him. Aaron made a gesture for her to sit on his lap. Her reaction? Of course, she rejected it. However, he did not lose his way. His hands moved to pull her waist until she fell and sat on his lap. Instantly, his arms wrapped tightly around his wife's waist.
"Why haven't you fallen asleep yet?" he asked in a low voice right beside his woman's ear.
Helena gave a slow shake. "Not sleepy yet. I just finished writing."
"Recipe for your blog?"
Helena changed to give the nod. "Yes. But it's still a draft. It'll have to be fixed later."
Aaron nodded. He lightly kissed the top of her head and let the silence dominate them for a moment. "Is something bothering you?" He asked as if he could guess what she was thinking about. In fact, he only assumed because she couldn't have come to him if there was nothing his wife wanted to talk to him about.
Helena was silent. Her mind thought about the series of sentences she would say. "I wonder... Why were you suddenly asking me to come with you?"
"To Bali?" Aaron asked back to be sure.
She nodded.
"Well, haven't I told you often that I enjoy spending time with you? So, I also want us to stay together while I have work trips out of town, including to Bali and other cities," he explained at length.
She digested all of her husband's words in silence. Even though she had heard the answer directly from him, she felt that there was still something he had not said. "Just that?"
The atmosphere was quiet again.
Aaron tightened her arms on her body. "I don't want to lie to you anymore. I also hope that our sex will happen soon." He said cautiously. The topic was still sensitive in their marital relationship.
"What if I say I'm willing to accept it?"
