Chapter 83: Chapter 83
Skye's POV
Michaelis walked into the study and I leaned back to observe him. "What is it this time admiral?" I asked him seeing the distraught on his face.
He took a seat. "It still doesn't look good alpha, no traces. No one had seen any activities in that area." He said.
"It's the woods, Michaelis. No one would see any activities in there." I said.
He shrugged. "You have a psyche in the house why don't she come to take a look, maybe she can see something and that would give us a lead." He suggested and I shook my head. "I'm not letting Anna out there yet till we are sure what's in there," I said.
"That's the point, Skye. We do not know what's in there." He said with a slightly raised voice.
"I respect you a lot admiral but this I'm not going to support until I speak with the girl," I said and he heaved. "That's fine by me." He said rising to his feet. "See you soon alpha." He said and I nodded and watched him leave.
I rested my back head on the chair and sighed. I was distraught and devastated. I couldn't think straight either. I wanted Ava out of my life but each time I wanted her out, she kept returning. Why was I even thinking of her?
"Because you still love her," Eros whispered audibly in my head.
"Shut your bloody hell of a mouth. I've got better things to think about." I fired at him.
Just then Natasha walked into the study room. "Everything alright?" I asked her and she nodded coming closer to me with a cup of coffee she placed on the desk. "Everything is just fine alpha." She said as she sat on my legs and attempted to kiss me. I held her hands that were on my collar and stopped her. "We talked about this," I said to her.
"I know but I just can't help myself. I really want to be with you again, Skye." She said and I brushed her off as she leaned over again.
"Just stop it, Nat," I said.
"I see you don't hate her after what she did. It's fine," she said getting off me. "I'll always be the one you despise." She said and I felt guilty all of a sudden.
"Don't say that," I said to her but she smiled. "It's fine. I made your coffee though, just the way you like it." She said and walked away.
I picked up the cup of coffee as the strong cinnamon smell wafted into my nostrils and I immediately took sips out of it. As I placed the cup back on the desk, I had a sudden urge to sniff life out of Ava.
Ava's POV
"Are you sure you what to do this?" Robin asked me and I nodded. I was standing out with him, Cami, and Anna.
"I believe you should have a rethink," Anna said.
I sighed. "I really don't want to do this but I have no choice in the matter," I said.
"He'd forget everything about you, Ava, are you willing to risk it?" Robin asked and I looked away. "It's better than seeing him look at me with hate in his eyes every day," I said.
"Which means we won't longer be in the pack house," Camila said and I nodded. "Everything from the start would be erased," I said to her.
Robin exhaled. "I really hope you're making the right decision," he said and I sighed. I really hoped I was. Could I bear not seeing Skye's face anymore? Could I bear being apart from him? I sighed again. It was for the best. I do not want my children to grow up in a home where there was nothing but hate.
"Do we have to return to crescent woods?" Camila asked. I opened my mouth to speak but Robin cut in.
"I'll find a place in town for y'all to stay till we find out the truth and what Natasha wants. I do not trust that bitch one bit." He said.
"Neither do I. There's something off about her return." I said.
"It's obvious she wants to separate you two. I don't know why alpha Skye can't see that." Anna said.
Robin held my hand. "Don't worry, we'd unravel this mystery soon. Skye is still blinded by the pain of the past. It is now obvious, he never did let go of his grudge for crescents." He said and I sighed again.
Camila held me. "We're all here for you." She said and I gave her a small smile. I was glad of their support, most especially Robin. If he still hated me, I won't even be here.
"You should go in now my queen, the weather is getting too hot for you," Anna said and I nodded and walked into the pack house.
Camilla's POV
"Will she be okay?" I asked no one in particular but I got a reply.
"It's just a matter of time," Robin answered.
"She shouldn't be going through these. She's stressed and it's not good for the baby." I said worriedly.
Robin held my shoulders. "You worry too much. I assure you she'd be fine." He said and I looked from his hands on my shoulders to his deep brown eyes and I realized I was still in love with this man I was claiming so hard not to. He noticed his hand on my shoulders," sorry." He apologized, dropped them, and walked away.
"So, with this situation, do you think the alpha's words about you wedding Robin, would stand?" Anna asked me and I shrugged.
"I don't believe so," I said with a sigh. She smiled. "You really wanted it to happen right?" She asked me and I nodded with a weary smile.
"Come," she said taking my hand. "Things will fall into place when you least expect it." She said and I fell into her arms and sighed. "I really hope so," I said.

Ava's POV
The day became darker as the sun fell behind the horizon. I watched Natasha walk out of the kitchen with a cup of tea and mounted up the stairs.
I tried to open a connection with Skye but he had blocked me from all connections the moment the accusation was made.
I tried not to think of it but I couldn't help it. I wondered what they were always doing together and alone. I stood up from the couch and walked outside the pack house to feel the cold night breeze. I closed my eyes as the coldness caressed my cheeks. It reminded me of the warm nights with Skye during the cold.
"Basking in the cold I see."
Robin's voice jolted me out of my reverie. I opened my eyes and smiled at him. "It soothes my mind," I said to him.
He held my hand. "C'mon, let's go inside. That's enough for tonight. You'll get the rest in your room." He said and I chuckled.
"Yes sir," I said and he laughed as we walked into the house.
Just then, Skye walked down the stairs and the moment he laid eyes on us, his eyes were blinded with fury. "I knew there was a thing or two going on between you two that I wasn't aware of." He said.
"What do you mean Skye?" I asked him.
"Oh shut your bloody trap of a mouth you little swine. You know exactly what I am talking about." He said harshly to me and my eyes began to water again.
"That was harsh Skye. What has she done to you now?" Robin asked him.
"Keep your preachings to yourself and keep yourself out of this hypocrite," Skye said in a very demeaning manner.
"Your fight is with me Skye and if there's anyone you wanna spit your venom on, it's me," I said to him.
"Of course. Why won't you defend your lover?" He said and I stared at him in shock. He looked like he was going nuts.
I inhaled. I didn't need this. "I'm out of here," I said, letting go of Robin and walking past Skye. He pulled me back and I almost stumbled to the floor. "You don't walk out on me while I'm still talking." He said very authoritatively.
I tried to catch my breath as Robin rushed to hold me. "What is wrong with you Skye? Can't you see she's pregnant?" He demanded in anger.
All he did was chuckle. "And the lover comes to the rescue..again." He said.
I looked up at him. "What else do you want from me Skye, what else?" I asked him as the tears choked my throat. "Do you want me dead before you can breathe again?" I asked him.
He stared at me with venomous and uncompassionate eyes. "Yes. That's the only way I can live properly." He said viciously. His eyes, tongue, and body spat hatred and anger.
"What the bloody heck!" Robin exclaimed. "Are you blind? Can't you see she's pregnant with your child?" Robin asked him.
"With the way you talk about this pregnancy, I'm beginning to think you're the father." He said staring dead straight into Robin's eyes.
Robin let go of me and went towards him and grabbed his collar. "I think it's high time you get some sense beaten into you." He said with gritted teeth.
"And I hope you know who's going to get beaten," Skye said with a clenched jaw.
"Stop!" I yelled at both of them and reluctantly, Robin let go of Skye's collar. I turned my attention to Skye. "What other accusations do you have labeled against me tell me?" I asked him.
"I despise you, Ava. I despise you with everything in me." He said and walked away.
I stood there for a few seconds, the tears I held back finally dropping as I crumbled to the floor. Robin rushed towards me, holding me as I sobbed.
"I have..nothing to think about now. I want everything done by tomorrow." I said and nodded as he held me, consoling me.
