Ava's POV

I felt aches on my back and around my abdomen and it made me miserable. It was hurting like I was on my monthly misery which I believed was around the corner. I slipped out of bed and went to see uncle. He lay on his bed breathing slowly. Mary had ensured me that he was going to be fine in a few days.

"I'm sorry," I apologized holding his hand in mine. "I'm sorry I placed you in this condition. Now I understand what you've always told me about father. He's a demon and demons cannot change. He's bargaining my life in exchange for the lives of the pack. I know what is expected of me uncle but I'm scared. With all he does, I still find compassion in my heart for him. I should be really angry he tried to kill you but I find myself not. What should I do uncle? Tell me, please. I'm willing to listen now." I said as I placed my head on his hand, tears slipping from my eyes.

I raised up my head. "I'll go to the blood moons house and.." I began but felt a weird and wild strange feeling in me. I hungered for blood. What's wrong with me? Why was I suddenly hungry for blood? I wondered but the urge only increased and before I knew it, I was outside the pack house and in the forest feasting on the blood of innocent animals.

Skye's POV

I woke up by the rapping knock on the door. I put on a shirt and headed to the door. "Yes, Ria?" I asked as I opened the door and saw Ria.

"The alpha of the night walker pack is here." She said.

"I'll be down in a minute," I said and she nodded and turned to leave as I shut the door. My gaze fell on the bed and I pictured Ava laying down on it and how I do steal glances at her when she was still asleep. I shook my head of the imagination from the past. This was not the time for this. I was still upset with her. The slaying of the demon king will be done with or without her.

I walked down the stairs and the alpha of the night walker pack was already seated in the living room waiting for me. He got to his feet as soon as he saw me.

"Alpha Skye," he said with the utmost respect.

"El Ontario," I said shaking hands with him. "Please sit," I said to him and we both got seated.

"Robin ensured to send your message to me, I got it on time and I took the next flight here. What's the emergency?" He said to me.

"Ever heard of the demon king?" I asked him, peering into his eyes.

"Yes, thought him to be a myth." He said with a puzzled look on his face.

I shook my head. "You of all people should know things like this El Ontario. The Russians are very well known for their Voodoos." I said.

"So he's real then?" He asked.

"Yes he is and there's going to be a battle between the demon king and us. I'm sure Robin indicated what the cause of battle is?" I asked him and he shook his head.

"Robin wasn't quite clear in his letter. But I made sure to arrange my best warriors and they shall be coming in later today." He said to me.

"That's fine, I shall explain to you the cause of this battle but I'll let you have your rest and later, we shall discuss this," I said to him and he nodded.

"Ria," I called out and she emerged from one of the doors downstairs. "Show the alpha to his room," I said to her and she nodded.

"This way alpha." She said leading him up the stairs.

I rose to my feet and headed to the study room when I saw Camila sneaking out of Robin's room. "Camila?" I said and she froze the moment she laid eyes on me.

"What are you doing in Robin's room?" I asked her and she stood there unable to utter a word.

"I asked a question, Camila," I said waiting for an answer which was right in front of me. Why didn't I take notice of her scent before? She was mixed.

"I..the beta needed help with um.." She stuttered.

"With his phallus?" I asked her with raised brows and her eyes widened as she looked away.

Just then Robin walked out of the door, an equally shocked expression on his face. "Alpha," he said with a startled look.

"Never thought you'd be caught I see," I said to him and he looked away in debasement. "I believe you have a never dying hatred for the crescents, how then is something going on between you two?" I questioned.

"She's my mate." He said still looking away.

"So now everyone is keeping things away from me, how intriguing," I said staring at both of them.

"That's not it Skye," he said looking at me. "I had no idea how you'd take the news. The moment I found out she was my mate, I rejected her." He said.

"This is the mating season but that does not justify your actions of sleeping with her," I said to him.

"It only happened twice." He said still being defendant of himself.

"I don't care if it happened twice or once. She is your mate and you've had her defiled, you have no choice now than to get married to her." I declared.

"What?" Robin exclaimed in disbelief.

"Who's getting married?"

I thought I imagined her voice till I looked towards the direction it came from and there she was standing in fitted jeans and a polo. I looked away from her despite having my heart in my throat. Just gone for a day, I missed her but I ignored Eros who whined calling out for her.

I turned back to Robin and Camila. "This isn't the time to discuss about marriage but believe me, after all this is over, you're going to get married. I'll ensure that." I said and dismissed them.

"What do you mean by they are both getting married?" Ava questioned again. I stared at her. "I do not owe you an explanation for anything," I said walking away.

"I am not asking you for an explanation, I just want to know what's going on?" She said following me into the study room.

"If you don't tell me what goes on around you, then why should I tell you what goes on around me?" I said nonchalantly as I took a seat.

"This has to do with me because it involves Camila and she's like a sister to me." She said glaring at me.

I scoffed. "Then I believe she'd be in a better position to answer your questions," I said picking up a journal. "If you do not mind, please excuse me I'll like to get busy," I said curtly to her and for a few seconds, I saw a flash of pain in her eyes, and then it was gone.

"What is wrong with you?" She fired at me. I stared at her. "Are you really asking me that?" I fired back.

"I didn't come here to battle words with you, I came here because..." She began but stopped as she looked uneasy and her eyes turned red. I stood up worriedly.

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

"I'm fine." She said. I could see she was struggling with herself or was she fighting with the demon inside of her? Before I could speak again, she dashed out of the room.

"Ava!" I yelled, going after her.

Ava's POV

I had come to tell him of father's proposal but the sudden urge to feed overwhelmed me while talking to him. I dashed out of the study room and bumped into Anna,I pushed her out of my way,the urge to kill and drain blood heightened inside of me. She fell on the floor and I heard Skye calling out to me but I didn't oblige to him. This sudden hunger that had started while I was at the crescent pack house was consuming me.

I got out of the territory and saw different animals scurrying around and with a little use of my powers,I got as many as I wanted and fed on their blood leaving them lifeless. I was becoming a demon and I couldn't help it. I was about to snatch life out the raccoon in my hand when I heard Skye's voice.

"Drop it." He ordered me gently having a look of surprise at the dead animals on the ground.

"I want it." I snarled at him. Anna was right behind him.

"Listen to me, Ava, don't let the demon take control of you. You can fight it. This isn't you Ava." He said trying every possible way to stop me from the crimes I was committing.

"Let the demon take control!" I yelled at him,not knowing if I was the one really speaking. "At least,I'll become like my father and he won't be able to kill me or make me give him the impure white wolves in exchange for my life." I said adamantly and Skye stared at me in shock.

"Don't listen to the voice in your head my queen. Believe me you can fight this,if you feed on an animal again,you'd become a full demon which I believe you won't want to be." Anna said.

I stared at the animal in my hand who had the eyes of a pleading human. "On the blood moon night,you shall also get rid of your demon qualities,if you do not take another soul." She said.

"Listen to her,please love." Skye pleaded with a look of agony in his eyes and without more persuasion,I let go of the raccoon and he scurried into the forest. I stared at my hands,they weren't physically stained with blood but they had blood on them. I just fed on innocent animals for the second time today.

I looked at Skye and I saw him staring at me. I expected him to look at me with disgust because of what I've done and what I was becoming. Instead,he came to me and pulled me into his arms hugging me close. "I'm angry at you but I still love you." He said and I felt tears burning down my eyes.
