Chapter 57: Chapter 57

Skye's POV

These past few days have been a whole lot rough for me. Ava was making it more difficult when she wouldn't come to terms with reality. I understand that she needs the love of a father but in this case, I strongly object. I saw Phil not just as her uncle but as her father, why was she not seeing him the same way? How could she want the love of a father who wanted nothing but to hurt her? Why was she so adamant and stubborn?

In the process of seeking the love of her father, she endangered Luna. What if seeing him more often traumatizes her forever? Why wasn't Ava seeing reasons with me? This was what made me really angry with her.

I walked out of the pack house and saw Phil coming down from his pickup truck.

"Skye," he said.

"Surprised to see you here so soon. It has only been a few days." I said to him.

"I came to see how Ava is doing." He said.

Just then Camila walked out of the pack house. "Beta Phil," she said curtseying.

"Camila," he said acknowledging her.

"Where's Ava?" I asked her.

"I think she's with Anna." She says.

"Fetch her," I said to her and she left.

"Everything alright?" He asked me. I shook my head. "She's still adamant about this," I said to him.

"She'd come around." He assured me.

"You think so?" I asked him. "She met with Clark a few days back within the territory. I don't think she'd come around." I said doubtfully to him.

He raised his brows in perplexity. "Clark was in here?" He asked baffled.

I nodded. "How?" He asked.

"She asked Anna to lift up the barrier protecting the territory so he can have access to her anytime," I said. I was really infuriated by her actions.

Phil took a deep breath and exhaled. "I'll speak to her again." He said.

"I hope she listens to you," I said. "I've got to go," I said walking away, and heading towards the pack's clinic to check on David. He was still not out of coma and Luna sat beside him staring at him and talking to him.

I ruffled her hair. "Hey, little girl," I said to her smiling and she looked up at me, her face full of smiles. "I was just telling David some stories to keep him from being bored." She said to me.

"That's so thoughtful of you," I said sitting down. "Mind if I join in this story? I believe it's going to be interesting." I said and she giggled. "You can." She said and continued with her story.

When she was done, she said. "Can we leave David to have some rest,he's tired."

I looked at her innocent and angelic face and I nodded. "Sure," I said and we walked out of the pack's clinic. Then I saw Ava standing in front of the pack house. Our eyes met and I looked away as Luna tugged on my hand. I bent on one knee. "Yes dear," I said.

"Can I have a popsicle?" She asked. I ruffled her hair. "You don't need to ask that," I said to her smiling. My eyes went back to Ava and she was still there. We locked eyes and I wondered what was going on in her mind.

I held Luna's hand and Ava was no longer there. "Let's get you that popsicle you want," I said to her and she giggled as we walked towards the pack house.

••••• ••••• ••••• ••••• •••••

Luna was sitting on the couch with Ava as she busied herself with her popsicle. She was really a charming girl.

Suddenly someone came rushing into the pack house and I sniffed his scent to be a crescent.

"Alpha," he said breathlessly. "Where's alpha, Ava?" He questioned urgently.

"I'm here," Ava said walking out of the living room. She noticed the boy immediately. "Daniel, what is it?" She asked in an agitating voice.

"It's... It's... Uncle Phil asked me... We need you alpha." He said breathlessly.

He made no sense. "What happened to uncle Phil?!" Ava demanded as she panicked.

"The..the demon king... He's at crescent woods and causing havoc." He said and I was shocked.

"No!" Ava yelled running out of the house.

"Ava!" I called, running after her.

"I have to save my people!" She yelled to me.

"You can't get to crescent woods on foot. It will be too late when you get there." I said pulling her to a stop.

"I can't stand here and do nothing!" She yelled at me.

"I'm not asking you to do that," I said pulling her towards the car. She wasted no time in getting in. "Hurry!" She yelled at me still panicking.

I got into the car and drove out of the pack house at a high speed. This wasn't the time to tell her I told her he was deceiving her all along.

We arrived at the pack house and alighted immediately. There Clark was raising Phil up in the air, his mouth wide open and hollows of darkness coming out from it and going into Phil.

"Stop!" Ava yelled and Clark turned around with bloodshot eyes, not letting go of Phil. "Stop!" Ava yelled again and this time, sent a blast of wind towards his direction and he got thrown on the pack house walls.

I was too shocked to notice what else was happening. Ava had powers and she didn't tell me. Ava went towards Phil. "Uncle, are you okay?" She asked in a perplexed and tear filled voice.

"Ava," he mouthed and closed his eyes.

"No!" She yelled. "No, no, no!" She yelled grabbing his shirt as she placed her head on his chest.

She got to her feet and advanced towards Clark. "You promised me!" She yelled sending a blast of wind toward him.

"Ava..I" he began.

"You want to take away the only one who has been there for me!" She yelled. She turned both her hands and a ball of fire erupted. Ava's eyes were flaming red just like his.

"You.." She yelled sending the ball of fire his way but he disappeared through the wind of darkness.

"Coward! I'll find you!" She yelled and then disappeared through that same wind of darkness. She had the powers of her father. I stood there in shock as the crescents took their beta from the ground, onto a stretcher and into the pack house panicking.

How did Clark get to the crescents? What other secrets were Ava hiding from me? My thoughts spread like wildfire in the wilderness.
