Chapter 26: Chapter 26
Skye's POV
To say the White's house was lacking taste would have been a lie, it was far from that. It was impeccable with a flag of the white wolf hung high at the entrance. The crescent guards at the entrance snarled at me and a few members of my pack that came with me. I smirked as my pack snarled back. "You'll get used to it," I said to them as I walked into the house.
The hallway was filled with crescents. Of course, it had to, this was their home. They snarled discreetly as they sighted us and all I had on my face was a smug smirk while my pack joined in the competition. I signaled to Robin to make them stop as I approached Ava's uncle, Phil.
"It seems your pack doesn't look too pleased to have me here," I said smiling at him.
"I'll say the same thing for your pack," he said gesturing to them and I looked over at my pack who were still not cutting a slack for the crescent wolves. I turned back to Phil. "Bonding already." I grinned. He looked away. "I'll get Ava," he said walking off in another direction.
Ava's POV
Camila did a really great job with the dress up. I looked gorgeous in this dress. She had my hair rolled and pinned like a cone shell in the crescent traditional hairstyles with pins and hydrangeas embedded in it.
The bodice of the gown fitted perfectly around my waist and flowed freely down to the floor.
The door opened and I turned sharply to have a look at who came in. It was my uncle and he stopped when he saw me. Then he said after a long pause. "You look just like your mother."
My heart skipped a beat as I turned back to the mirror. He was right. I looked just like her the way I remembered. The only difference was that I was not having that loveable smile of hers that never left her face.
Then I smiled. I could easily be passed as her twin and not even her daughter!
"That's her dress you're wearing. She saved it up for her marriage but never got the chance to use it," he said.
"You told me she got married. What do you mean now that she never got the chance to make use of it?" I asked curiously.
He shrugged. Did she never make it to the altar? Did my father break her heart? Was I a product of a fling? Different thoughts went through my mind.
"It's time," uncle said holding my hand. "Come, Ava," he said. My heart raced as I placed my hand in his, together we walked out of the room with Camila right behind us.
Skye's POV
The moment she walked down the stairs, all my disturbing thoughts and grumpiness of this morning were gone out the window. She looked like an enchantress casting her spell on me. She was perfect and the fitness of the gown's couture around her waist brought out her curviness.
I groaned inwardly as I felt a pain down my groin. Robin whispered beside me. "About to be ticked off the bachelor's list, what a pity to all those ladies frolicking around you. They will sure miss you." he teased having a small smile on his face.
I smirked as I focused on the gorgeous and her eyes met mine and held its gaze.
We gazed into each other's eyes for as long as possible wondering what the other was thinking. She looked away as Phil stopped her at the foot of the spiral stairs that led to the balcony.
I was standing at the other end of the stairs holding her gaze, but she won't hold mine. She walked up the stairs and I followed her lead on the other staircase when we got interrupted.
It was Dalton Creed from the shadow pack. He stood with his entourage at the entrance of the hallway.
"This marriage shall not hold." he declared. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. "The priest has not even asked who wants this marriage dissolved and you have sprung up," I said loud enough for him to hear.
Phil walked up to him. "We've talked about this Dalton," he said calmly but the wimp won't listen.
"We've talked about nothing Phil, Ava is mine as you had said and you promised her to me." he insisted.
I walked down the stairs. "Is there, if I may ask, any written contract between you and Phil to get my mate married to you?" I asked walking up to him. My pack was ready to attack and protect their alpha.
"There need not be a contract," he said walking furiously towards Ava and grabbing her by her wrist. She flung his hand away but he wouldn't let go.
Eros growled seeing Dalton's contact with Ava and he got possessive and surfaced. I walked briskly towards him and threw him aside and he landed at the other end of the stairs.
"No one touches my bride," I growled. On seeing their soon to be alpha on the floor, the shadow pack attacked and the blood moons and the crescents defended.
Ava's POV
Seeing the next alpha of the shadow pack mishandle
me, Skye took control and the shadow pack attacked, and my pack and his fought back.
It's my wedding for heaven's sake, despite the fact that I despised it, I wasn't about to let some pack ruin it for me. If not for this perky dress, I would have had the shadow pack out by now.
But that didn't stop me. I grabbed, kicked, and fought any shadow pack member that came my way.
"Do not get your dress dirty my love," Skye said to me and I rolled my eyes at him.
The packs had every last one of the shadow pack on the floor groaning in pain but, Dalton and one of his entourage didn't relent.
Gathering the hem of my dress, I kicked his pack member hard in between his legs and he fell down writhing in pain.
Dalton grabbed me from behind and I turned swiftly and kicked him on his side ribs but he didn't give up. He scrunches up his face holding the impact of my shoe on his ribs.
Out of nowhere I saw Skye's hands on his head and snapped his neck. He fell down. Everywhere was silent except for the occasional groans of the shadow pack. A few were up on their feet and running away.
"With that done," Skye said rubbing his knuckles. "Gentlemen, shall we proceed with the marital rites?" he said with an irresistible smirk on his face.
The priest who had been cowering in fear nodded as he stood up straight.
"This is one hell of a wedding," I muttered kicking past Dalton who lay unconscious on the floor.
Skye chuckled. "Yes it is," he said. He had heard me.
I frowned at him and looked away walking up my side of the stairs.
We met in front of the priest who pronounced us man and wife after exchanging vows and rings. Looking out the window, the sky was crimson red and the white moon shone brighter than usual.
Instantly my eyes flashed revealing my wolf ones and I felt a new rush of energy in me. My fingertips felt like they were heavy with powers. I turned to look at my people and everyone gasped.
"Your wolf eyes," Skye began but stopped.
"What happened to them?" I asked. A mirror was hanging at his side of the stairs and I walked up to it. My silvery rain colored eyes were replaced with a sapphire crystal color. What did it mean?
