Chapter 23: Chapter 23
Phil's POV
He turned out to be everything I didn't think of. I've heard of his name countless of times and his achievements and I respected him and held him in high esteem despite being enemies.
He was determined, protective, possessive, and also a pervert. How would Ava cope with that perverted side of his?
At least one of them seemed pleased about the marriage and looking at him, he was sure to protect her from the thorns of his people. Delilah my sister, won't have to be so worried about her. I had faith in Ava that she was capable of handling anyone that would undermine her. I wasn't feeling too secure about it but I had no choice.
"Very well then," I began and cleared my throat. "I've spoken to Dalton about the latest development and he's not very pleased with it," I said to Ava and she walked toward me. "He has no say in this matter. Besides, I never liked him anyway. He was too much of talk with an air of pride around him." she said.
I knew that from the onset. It was obvious she didn't like him and was trying to please me.
"If he turns out to be a problem for the wedding, do let me know, to keep him where he belongs," Skye said.
"I'm very sure we can handle our problems." I retorted. I wanted to dislike this blood moon but he was a charmer.
"I have no doubts that you can," he said smirking and turning to Ava. "See you in two days, my beloved," he said with a small smile on his lips and with that, he was gone.
"I thought he was here to discuss the wedding," I scoffed. "Pervert."
Ava chuckled. "And what's so funny?" I asked her.
"Oh nothing," she said in a childish way.

Skye's POV
The meeting earlier arranged with the other packs and the high ranked humans was rescheduled for another week. I was standing by the balcony when Anna walked up to me.
She bowed her head and said. "I want to say thank you for everything."
I looked away. "It's nothing. You've repaid the favor by showing my people the prophesied marriage is true." I said to her.
She nodded. "That's the least I could do compared to what you did for me. If you need me for anything, please do not hesitate to call me," she said.
"Are you going somewhere?" I asked her.
"I don't want to be a burden to you so I'll be leaving first thing tomorrow morning," she said.
This time around, I turned to look at her. She was small and slender in stature yet had so much power in her hands.
"Who has been complaining?" I questioned.
"She raised her head. "No one alpha..no one at all," she said.
"Do you have anyone aside from your late mother out there?" I asked her and she shook her head. "Then it is settled. You'll stay in the pack house and on no condition will you be leaving. This is your new home." I said. Her eyes glazed in gratefulness but she still insisted. "But.."
"There will be no buts Anna. I, Nicholas Skye, alpha of the blood moon pack have declared you a member of this pack." I said authoritatively to her.
She nodded. "As you please alpha," she said and walked away.
Why would she harbor the thoughts of leaving? She was a young girl who needed protection from the cruel world. Why in heaven's name would she think of returning to it? I pondered.
Ava's POV
I just couldn't fathom Fern's hatred about the idea of me getting married to Skye. It's very much understandable that he hates the blood moons but I was beginning to have a rethink. I believe he hated Skye in particular. Maybe, just maybe Skye had hurt him bitterly in the past. That was very much possible considering the fact that the blood moons were known for hurting and bringing pain to the crescents.
We were to move into the new house tomorrow in preparation for the wedding. I began to wonder how I would get dressed all by myself.
I haven't gone deep into that thought when I heard a knock on my cabin door. "The door is not locked," I said and one of the pack members walked into my room. I looked up from where I laid and saw a young girl standing before me. She looked familiar. I wondered where I had seen her before in the pack.
I sat up. "You are..." I tried recalling.
"Camila," she said lowering to her knees.
"Please get up," I said feeling awkward as she was kneeling before me. She rose to her feet. "I've seen you before. Somewhere.." I couldn't place it.
She nodded. "We've spoken only once and that was the day you wouldn't go to the parade. I'm among the pack but I do not train, I'll die holding a weapon." she laughed nervously and I smiled.
She was looking really shy and nervous. "What can I do for you, Camila?" I asked.
"I..I..was wondering," she began shuffling on her feet. She couldn't talk and stood there nervously. I stood up and went to her.
"It's okay, you don't have to be scared of me, I won't bite," I assured her. "What do you want to say?" I asked.
She smiled at me. "It will really be nice and a great honor for me...if I could dress you up for your..wedding." she finally said looking at me with anxious eyes.
I laughed. "Now was that too hard to say? Did I bite you?" I asked her and she shook her head.
"Now for your proposal, it's a yes. I cannot decline the goodwill of my pack." I said and she gleamed in delight.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" she said repeatedly in excitement and ran out.
I chuckled and went out the door of the cabin and looked up to the sky. Did the moon goddess hear my thoughts and granted my request? I wondered.
