Chapter 79: Chapter 79
“Dad’s condition is getting worst,” Liara informed her siblings while her own lips trembled in fear. Caroline tried to heal Brandon with her powers, but she had already used a lot of her powers, so she couldn’t use her power to the fullest.
“Caro, stop!!! You will die.” Calvin stopped her when her face started getting pale. She needed rest before using her power again.
“His heart…. His heart is not able to heal properly.” Caroline replied, feeling weak. “If his heart wouldn’t heal, then he….” A sob escaped her mouth with the thought of losing her father.
“Stop mourning. Nothing will happen to him.” Colton said in a cold tone, looking at Brandon. He couldn’t help but blame himself for Brandon’s state. Only if he would have been strong enough to protect himself, then his father wouldn’t have had a fight with that mad beast to protect him. His fist tightened at his failure. Liara held his hand to calm his inner turmoil.
“His bleeding is not stopping. I need the blood from any of you.” The doctor informed to which Calvin quickly agreed. Unlike a human, only family members related to blood or mate could share the blood with the injured werewolf who couldn’t heal himself or herself at that moment.
Colton’s blood was poison to the supernatural creature, so he couldn’t share the blood. And Caroline was the adopted child of Brandon and Sophia Haysbert.
“No, I will give him my blood,” Liara said after Destiny suggested to her that maybe just like she could heal herself. Her blood could heal Brandon.
“Lee!! You’re a baby. Let me…”
“Trust me, brother!! I know what I’m doing. Destiny thinks that our blood can heal dad. So, please!!” Liara insisted.
“Calvin,” Colton looked at him, silently asking him to trust Liara’s instincts.
“By the way, who will inform Mom and Tee about this?” Caroline questioned. For a moment, they could keep Tiara away, but their mom… she had the right to know about that what happened with their dad. “I don’t know how but I guess she had already sensed that something was not right,” Caroline added, showing four missed calls from Sophia and eight missed calls from Logan. Calvin didn’t know whether his phone was. Colton checked his phone and found seventeen missed calls from both Sophia and Logan.
“Obviously, she would have…. She is marked by dad.” Calvin pointed out, and then his face paled. “That also means that she would have felt some amount of pain,” he added.
Caroline quickly called her back, but Sophia didn’t receive the call; she redialed but this time, but someone else received the call.
“Hello, Mom.”
“It’s your Grandpa.” Logan hissed in anger. Caroline kept the phone on speaker. “Idiots, what is the use of five kids when no one is in the mood to receive the call when your mother got a heart attack.” he scolded Caroline.
“Find your father. He is not receiving the damn call. He should be with his mate, but god knows where did he disappear to plan a surprise for my daughter.” Logan added in anger. Even though Sophia was his daughter in law but, for Logan Haysbert, she was his daughter.
“Tee is on the way to Paris after learning this news. When other people get free to receive the call then maybe they can visit her too.” After saying all this, Logan disconnected the call angrily not knowing the mess that had happened in the other. Surely, he was the leader of the hunters, but most of the things Colton used to handle gave him less stress.
Caroline broke into tears that she had been controlling from the moment when she heard this news.
This was definitely the toughest time for them. Colton walked out of them before anyone would have seen tears in his eyes. He didn’t remember when did he cry the last time, and all this was happening in his life because of one person who was said to be dead.
He went to the packhouse, to Calvin’s penthouse near the person who could calm him down.
“Dadddaaa,” Roselet, Calvin’s two years and two-month-old daughter, came running toward him, thinking of him as her father. He picked her in his arms and hugged her. He never admitted it to anyone but staying near babies always helped him relax his mind.
Roselet, too wrapped her tiny arms around his shoulder, resting her head on his big shoulder.
“Rose mi..missed you.” She said and kissed Colton’s cheek before adding, “Uncle Colt? Is that you?” She asked when Colton didn’t smile at her.
“Ah. I tlways get confused beween daddy and you.” She said, keeping her hand on her forehead and shaking her head, and speaking in her cute baby tone, “Oow are you, Uncle Colt?”
“Now, I’m feeling good,” Colton replied, watching the little angel in his arms, who gave her a wide smile. He wanted to go out and hunt, but at the same time, he didn’t want to end up killing innocent creatures. He wanted to pour all his anger on one person, but unfortunately, he was already dead.
At the same time, he received a call from Tyler. He received the call, holding Roselet with one hand.
“Boss, that Lycan… his body got disappeared even after Alpha Artemis had checked that he was dead.”
“Close that case,” Colton ordered before disconnecting the call. ‘Because now I will study more about you on my own.’ He thought and pinched Roselet’s cheek, who again gave him a big wide smile.

Alaric was looking at Theodore’s lifeless body and felt like he had lost him for real. They were in the same cave where Liara had treated Theodore and from where Liara was going to get kidnapped.
“Seems like you’re really dead,” Alaric mumbled, thinking whatever was written in books was wrong. He couldn’t help but feel guilty for shooting his own friend. With a heavy heart, Alaric brought a lighter near him to burn his body when all of a sudden, Theodore held his wrist, opening his eyes.
