Chapter 78: Chapter 78

“Better three hours too soon than a minute too late. – William Shakespeare.”

Liara had read this quote when she was a kid, but at that time, she didn’t understand the meaning of this quote because she never got late in her life, but what happened next to her? She really wished that she would have arrived earlier than now.

Her mate stabbed her father!!

She knew what was going to happen next!! All her siblings would kill Theodore in the worst way possible. The moment they found out about this incident. It didn’t take a minute when she saw Calvin’s wolf running toward Inigo to kill him while Inigo looked confused and was watching the naked, unconscious man in front of him, trying to adjust what Liara screamed.

‘Dad?’

Fuck!!

Liara, too, ran toward Inigo and picked up the gun that she found on the ground. Maybe someone would have dropped it during the fight. She lifted up and found Calvin attacking Inigo while he wasn’t fighting with Calvin’s wolf at all. She didn’t know what was going on in Inigo’s mind at that moment or might be he had realized what he just did in anger and lack of knowledge.

“Alaric, please tell him that it is over between us when he wakes up,” Liara said with teary eyes.

“What? What do you mean?” He asked in confusion and found Liara aiming at Inigo, who was getting beaten by Calvin. “Help me in aiming at his head, OR no one can save your friend from dying mercilessly.” She said and was ready to pull the trigger, but it wasn’t right. It might hit Calvin as well. In the end, Alaric fixed her aim and held her shaking hands. They both knew that silver bullets wouldn’t kill Theodore. The same thing they had read in the book. They were ready to believe what was written in the book but never did they plan to do the practical by shooting Theodore with silver bullets.

Finally, Alaric pulled the trigger because it looked like Liara couldn’t act to kill Theodore even when she knew he wouldn’t die.

Inigo howled in pain when he felt pain in his head. That was not the end. Liara closed her eyes and shot all the bullets into his body. Inigo’s body fell to the ground scaring the shit out of her. She dropped the gun and ran toward her, shifting in the middle when she saw Calvin was shit, not ready to leave Inigo. He sank his teeth in Inigo’s arms, ready to rip it away from his body. Destiny lunged at him. It wasn’t that she didn’t love her dad, but she knew that her mate wouldn’t have done this even after knowing that the wolf whom he stabbed was her father.

Keanu (Calvin’s wolf) growled at Destiny for stopping him from attacking, while Destiny whimpered and ran toward Brandon, reminding him that their dad should be their first priority. She shifted into her human form and pulled out the spear from Brandon’s chest, and checked his nerves.

“Ask someone in your pack to prepare the operation theater.” She said, controlling her tears. She couldn't cry like weak at this moment.

Keanu mind linked his Beta, Zordan, and reached near Brandon, licking his face.

“Daddddd!!! Oh my god!!” Caroline quickly reached there and Artemis behind her. But he went to check on Colton, who had started recovering already.

“Teleport us to Calvin’s pack now,” Liara said because Brandon’s heartbeats were falling with every passing second.

“I will stay back with him to ensure that nothing goes wrong with innocent students,” Artemis said, looking at Alaric, to which Caroline nodded her head.

“Stay safe. I will be back.” Caroline said before teleporting Brandon, Liara, Calvin, Colton, and herself from there. Once they left, Artemis looked at Inigo, who was still in his wolf form. He reached near him and checked his heartbeat, along with whether he was breathing.

“He is dead.” He mumbled, widening Alaric’s eyes. “By the way, do you know him? I saw you helping him before?”

“I thought he was on the same team. Killing vampires, you know. But it looks like we weren’t.” Alaric mumbled and looked around at the mess that had been created in the pack. Those vampires that wanted to live had already surrendered. They couldn’t believe that when they reached here, they were more than thousands of vampires, and now they were barely a hundred left.

Theodore and Colton had ripped the head of vampires with so much passion, as if some chefs were chopping the vegetables.

“I’ve informed the werewolf King about the mess,” Artemis said, looking at the mess. “Almost all the pack members are dead. So, he had decided to send all the students to their pack until he decided what to do next.”

“Oh, okay!!”

“Come on, help me in burning these bodies,” Artemis said, and he, along with other human hunters, started burning all the dead or injured or almost dead bodies of the vampires to end their game once and for all. Finding everyone busy with their work, Alaric used that opportunity to hide Inigo’s body. He couldn’t understand why the hell he wasn’t responding, but if his body got burned, then there was no way he could come to life after that.
