He observed her beautiful green doe eyes turned sad, hearing it, but she didn’t reply to him rudely. “Alpha Kane wants to mark me as his chosen mate.” She whispered, not removing her eyes from him even for a second, “and tonight…. Tonight we… are going to sleep together so that he can show that he will be better than you.”
Liara neither told him that she was getting blackmailed nor the fact that she was doing this for Alaric because she didn’t want to take credit for anything. She was scared that if she would tell him about it and he wouldn’t react, then her heart would break into pieces again, and he wouldn’t care again.
“Then what are you doing here? Go and sleep with him. Why are you telling me about it?” He hissed in anger. All of a sudden, he received a tight slap across his face, shocking both him and Liara. Well, it wasn’t really Liara but Destiny.
‘He doesn’t care, Destiny. How easily he asked us to sleep with Alpha Kane?’ Liara asked, and tears rolled out of her eyes.
“You really have no problem with me sleeping with someone else?” She asked, wiping her tears and receiving no response from him. “You’re really a selfish person, Theo, who doesn’t think about anyone. Moon Goddess, I feel so stupid to think that there is some goddess left in you. Hell, the person who didn’t come up to save his friend, then why the hell will he risk his life for me, whom he hates.” She said angrily and kept crying at the same time.
“When you know that I hate you, then why are you here? What do you want from me? To fight with that Alpha for you?” He questioned her. He was obviously going to do that even if she wouldn’t have asked, but he wanted to hear it from her mouth, but to whom was he kidding, just like him? She ignored to answer his question and wanted to leave from there, but Theodore yanked her arm and slammed her against the wall, pressing his palm on her mouth. Theodore looked alert, and after a few seconds, one of the warriors walked into the restroom to do his personal business.
Theodore waited for him to leave and looked at Liara, who was constantly staring at him. Even after the warrior left, they didn’t change their position and kept staring at each other without blinking.
This was the second time when they were looking into each other’s eyes, and that was when he recalled their previous conversation.
‘I love your eyes, Theo. I love the way you look at me. Or call me stupid; I love everything about you.’
Theodore removed his palm from her mouth and looked away.
“I, Liara Haysbert, rejects….” Theodore stopped Liara from rejecting him by placing his palm on her mouth again.
‘Please don’t.’ He mentally begged, and his eyes delivered the same message to Liara. She could see the pain in his eyes because of the thought of rejection.
Liara removed his hand from her mouth and asked hopefully, “Does that mean you want me, Theo, as your mate?”
“Right now, I want TIME.” He replied, looking away from her. He didn’t say at her face until now, but he was moved by her kindness and bravery that she did to save his friend's life. His hatred for werewolves was still the same but… but not for her. He recalled how she had once said that ‘Not every werewolf is bad.’ His life was messed up badly, and including her in that messed life, he wasn’t sure he wanted that.
“Come on now!! I will take you to the Alpha Kane.” His next word surprised her. Fear and shock could be seen in her eyes. It was clear that she didn’t want to go anywhere near him.
“Theo….”
“Come on; PLEASE don’t protest.” He said, dragging her because she didn’t want to leave. “TRU…” He paused before continuing, “TRUST ME.”
‘Last time, you broke it, Theo. What if you will do the same?’ She questioned herself and ended up trusting him again. ‘Because I know I’m stupid.’

'Where the hell did Liara disappear? Find her damn it.' Alpha Kane ordered his stupid warriors through the mind link by staying in Liara's room.
'She is here, Alpha. One of our janitors brought her with him.' A guard near the hostel replied.
'Bring her inside.'
'That Janitor wants to do this on his own and is expecting some reward from you.' The guard replied a minute later.
'Perfect then. Let him in. Now, I'm closing the mind link. Make sure no one disturbs me at any cost. And if you all want, then you can sleep peacefully because no one attacked us last night, even without security. So, enjoy your night with your mates.' Saying this, Kane closed the mind link. Little did he know that overconfidence sinks the ship. At the same time, the rain started pouring like cats and dogs.
A moment later, Theodore walked out of the elevator dragging Liara with him.
“Ah!! There you’re. You are so dead now.” Kane said, hissing in anger, and walked toward her. “You deserve a punishment for this, baby girl.”
Liara shrieked in fear and tried to hide behind Theodore when she saw Kane reaching his hand to grab her.
'Please don't break my trust again, Theo. Please. Please. Please.' She chanted in her mind, and surprisingly, Kane's hand never reached her.
