Chapter 41: Chapter 41

‘People around me think that I’ve gone crazy because I keep talking to myself. But little did they know that I talk with you, my pup.’ Theodore recalled his mother’s voice which he used to keep listening to when he was growing inside her. ‘My mother used to say that pups start learning things from their mother’s womb. That’s why a positive environment is created around a pregnant woman. I don’t know whether that is true or not, but I won’t know until I try. I don’t know what your future holds for you but remember that I want you to be kind and compassionate. You’re my pup. That’s why you have to be like me, not a cruel creature like your father.’

‘I don’t know how others will treat you your whole life, pup. But remember that you’re a miracle and a blessing that doesn’t happen on a daily basis. Not a result of some nasty, okay?’

‘You will be different from the rest, but that’s not the curse. Even if the world would treat you differently, remember that different is good, and being different will be what makes you stand out in the world.’

‘And if somehow you will able to make up till your adulthood, then you will be blessed with a mate too. Just like I did, but unfortunately, I lost him on the night we marked each other. Well, I will not talk about sad things but about good and positive things. I don’t know whether you’re a girl or a boy but remember to love and cherish your mate when you find one. And I will be so disappointed in you if you won’t because I will be watching everything from the above.’

“Why did you help her?’ Elder Ozul asked in anger when Theodore helped that little girl of a hunter

“Because she was in pain as her legs got stuck in the trap that those adult hunters had placed for the animals. Mom told me to be kind and compassionate.” Little Theodore replied innocently.

“Being kind and compassionate will get you nothing in your life. In fact, that is what happened with her because of this nature.” Elder Ozul.

The next day, a group of hunters almost killed him, but thanks to the vampires that saved him. Later, he came to know that the girl whom he had saved previously did that to him. That was the last day when Theodore was kind and compassionate toward anyone. But that innocent boy couldn’t find that it was Elder Ozul behind everything. He wanted to kill all the goodness that Theodore had gotten from his mother.

Theodore couldn’t feel that he was a miracle anymore when he kept hearing from everyone. He didn’t want to believe them that he was unwanted and something nasty, but when someone repeats a lie a thousand times, it becomes the truth. And the same thing happened to him. He didn’t realize that when he started hating himself and his existence.

*

When Theodore grew up, no matter how much he tried to appreciate the fact that he was different but he couldn’t. He was bullied, treated badly, raped for years, abused by powerful vampires, and was everyone's target just because he was DIFFERENT.

AT PRESENT!!

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!” Theodore shouted in anger and dropped to his knee. He had stopped thinking about his mother’s words from the moment that he realized while growing up that whatever his mother taught was nonsense and not true at all, but tonight he would blame his mutt for bringing his mother in the middle.

‘Thank Moon Goddess that our mom is not alive, so she would have died of shame for giving birth to a pup like you.’

“I know, Mom, that I’m not what you wanted me to be. That’s because whatever you told me was not correct. Even the fact that you will be watching me from above because you don’t.” He said, looking at the stars. “I… I miss you, Mom. I feel lost. But what you wanted me to do is impossible for me because I can’t love or cherish her. I have always hated werewolves, and she is one.” He added.

“If you’re really up there and give me proof. Talk to me.” He demanded. “I know that won’t happen.” That was when the phone rang in his pocket rang. He cursed internally when he realized that after texting Liara’s father, he had kept her phone in his pocket and forgot to take it out. He pulled out her phone to see who was calling her at this late and saw ‘MOM’ written on display.

He didn’t receive the call at first, but her phone rang again, and he did the same, and to his surprise, her phone rang for the third time. He wanted to switch off her phone, but then her mother might get suspicious.
