Chapter 40: Chapter 40

“Ummmmmmmm,” Liara cried loudly, pressing her mouth against the pillow. “Ummmmmmmm” She yelled again and kept crying miserably. She couldn’t understand whether she was crying on the part that she almost got raped or the part that it was her mate’s plan to kidnap her through his friends.

‘If I will tell you that I’m feeling sorry for what happened with you back in the forest, then… that will be a complete lie, Liara. I know no girl deserves this, but only if you had cooperated, then that wouldn't have been having happened to you.’

She wasn’t totally awake at that time, but her conscious mind was already awake, much awake enough to hear the sound nearby.

She didn’t count the number of times that she screamed against the pillow. Even her pillow got wet to an extreme level because of her continuous crying, but she couldn’t help herself. After all, her heart and trust both were broken badly, and it was the first time for her.

She cried, thinking how she had been thinking all the time that her mate would come and save her. She cried for trusting him blindly, and he proved to her that she was indeed blind. She cried, recalling her own words.

“Some will test you, some will use you, some will love you, and some will teach you. But the ones who are truly important are the ones who bring out the best in you. I want to be the last type of person in your life. It’s your hand that what you want to be.”

She was feeling used at that moment. She wasn’t stupid who couldn’t understand, even after this incident, that Theodore was here for some motive, because of which he planned her kidnapping. He would be cursing the mate bond that flopped his own plan.

“I will NEVER trust you. I will NEVER trust anybody ever again.” She shouted while crying and laughed, finding it funny how one person could make her never trust anybody.

She left the bed to walk into the washroom to wash away the sweat, dirt, and smell of that vampire. She turned the knob of the shower and grabbed the body wash first. She started scrubbing her skin like a maniac to wash the image of those flirty hands touching her.

She wanted to hurt Theodore back by revealing what he was and what he did to her by telling him about her brothers, but at that moment, she didn’t want to make any decision in a hurry.

‘I will think about this after talking with Destiny.’ She thought and wiped her tears. She knew if her family members would come to know about this incident, then they wouldn’t waste a second before killing him. She wrapped herself in the towel and walked out of the washroom when she saw it was morning already.

She stared at herself in the mirror. There was no cut or bruised on her body. She didn’t know. How? When she fell unconscious, she was positive that her face was perfectly damaged. Then how did she look perfectly fine even when her wolf wasn’t with her to heal her?

She recalled what had happened before she fell unconscious and recalled a silver Lycan running toward her in anger.

‘Who was he?’ She was sure that it was Theodore who could have brought her here because no other person could open her main door except him as she was already unconscious. ‘Was… was he Theo’s wolf?’

She messaged her head because it was aching hard, maybe because she had cried for hours.

‘I have to find the truth before revealing Theodore’s truth in front of anyone.’ She finalized after thinking about everything. She had to know what Theodore was up to. If she would reveal his identity now, then she wouldn’t be able to know his master plan because of which he had been here for more than two years and two months.

She recalled how his friend had killed two of the werewolves of the pack back then for no reason, and a part of her started guessing the part that he was here to plan something big against werewolves. His hatred for werewolves wasn’t new to Liara.

‘If you’re planning something against my people, then I won’t let that happen, Theo.’

‘We won’t.’ She heard her wolf’s voice, and a small smile appeared on her face.

‘You okay?’ She asked Destiny.

‘No.’ Destiny replied. ‘I’m feeling guilty for not being able to protect you. But I promised that won’t happen again.’

‘Now I realized why dad used to ask me to learn how to fight. It wasn’t because you like to beat the shit out of someone but also for self-protection. Because no matter how calm and peace-loving person you are, the world will never treat you right.’ Liara responded, and a single tear rolled down her cheek, recalling how she was crying for Theodore’s name multiple times for help. Hell, even Destiny howled for help.

And even if that Lycan would appear to be Theodore’s wolf, she wouldn’t thank him because she would never forget what had happened to her before his arrival.

‘We will never forgive him too.’ Destiny said to which Liara chuckled and wiped her tears.

‘People forgive those who are sorry or guilty for what they did, but he isn’t at all sorry. Hell, he said that whatever happened with us was because we were feisty.’ Liara laughed for a while after saying this, and all of a sudden, she started crying. After crying for a while, she put on a strong face and wore the dress because she had to attend the class.

It wasn't easy for her, so she went to her library to get something to distract her mind.

"And there you're." She talked to herself, grabbing a book. 'The history of the Lycan.' She wiped her tears again, which were rolling out of her eyes again and again.

'It's okay, Liara. It's okay to cry.' She consoled herself and recalled a famous line by someone, 'Pain makes you stronger. Tears make you braver. Heartbreak makes you wiser. So, thank the past for a better future.'
