Chapter 39: Chapter 39
‘Most importantly, why the hell he needs to know that Beasty does? Does he not trust him? But why? Because he is half-wolf as well? Or is there something else?’ Alaric kept thinking about all this when he heard some footsteps.
He silently heard what they were talking about.
“Boss!! We have found two dead bodies of vampires. Only one is bitten by a werewolf, and another…wait… there is one more.” A man kept speaking, and Alaric sensed that it was a human but a human having so much knowledge about the supernatural creature. That meant only one thing, HUNTERS.
Alaric watched how a group of hunters was giving details to their BOSS and showed them all the evidence that they could find. He felt it was useless and thought to leave when he heard.
“I gave you all one task to keep my sister safe, and you couldn’t do that too.”
‘My sister?’
“It’s not my fault, Boss. She tricked us.” The hunter holding the phone spoke.
“Collect all the blood samples that you have found and give me the reports on them ASAP.” Alaric tried to see the face of that BOSS in the video call, but all he could see was a hand with a tattoo and a ring on the middle finger. “I will be there soon.” With this call was disconnected.
‘Liara’s brother is the Boss of the hunters? How? They should be werewolves, right? And that tattoo, I have seen that somewhere.’ He thought and silently followed them to know their location.

“If I will tell you that I’m feeling sorry for what happened with you back in the forest, then… that will be a complete lie, Liara. I know no girl deserves this, but only if you had cooperated, then that wouldn't have been having happened to you. They were just going to kidnap you." Theodore said, looking at the unconscious Liara. It took around an hour to bring her inside her hostel by hiding behind trees and pillars and then running here and there when he felt like getting caught.
'Yeah! Blame her for what happened to her. Maybe that will make you feel better.' Inigo growled in anger. 'And who knows if our mother would have cooperated, then she might not have been raped too.'
'INIGO'
'Lower your voice, leech. If you want to blame her, then blame her by saying that she made a mistake by trusting the wrong person. Well, not a person, a MONSTER. That is who you are. Thank Moon Goddess that our mom is not alive, so she would have died of shame for giving birth to a pup like you.' Inigo growled at him. He was so done with hatred against werewolves because tonight he crossed all his limits by risking his mate's life and respect at stake.
Theodore couldn't stand there a second there, so he quickly left from there, not before locking the door from outside, which could get locked and open by scanning Liara's and his iris.
He couldn't help but recall their conversation about it.
*
"Look at me!! I have to scan your eyes." Liara said, on which he frowned. "Relax, it's nothing serious. It is just that I'm updating the security system of the door so that you can open or lock the door from outside on your own so that you don't have to disturb me in the morning while I am sleeping."
Hearing this, Theodore immediately planned to kidnap her on the night when she would be in heat.
"I know you will say that you're trusting the wrong person. That's why let me tell you that I'm keeping just my iris's scan so that even you can't enter my study and personal room if they're locked from the inside."
"I will still say that 'you're trusting the wrong person.'" Theodore mumbled, not happy with this information.
"I'm not," Liara said with a smile.
*
He opened the door again and went inside again to check something. He went into the room in Liara's bedroom and turned the knob to lock the inside without closing the door. Then he walked out of the room where there was a handle and a scanner above it.
He leaned down a little and scanned his eyes. In the meanwhile, he really hoped that whatever he was thinking would come wrong, and then his legs turned numb when he read 'Matched' on the scanner.
'Why, Liara? Why?'
He ran away from there, unable to handle this fact. Once he left, Liara opened her eyes, and warmed tears escaped from her eyes that she had been controlling for a long time.
'You were right, Theo. I was indeed trusting the wrong person.'
