“I said thank you for helping me tonight, but I think you should leave this pack now,” Liara said. “It’s clear that you’re stuck with me because of the mate bond, so let’s end this. You don’t want to give US a chance, and I… I can’t run behind some who doesn’t want me.”

‘I can’t leave from here. Not until my work is done.’ Theodore talked in his mind. The reason behind his ignoring was this conversation which he had been avoiding since day one because he really didn’t want to play with her feelings.

“I… I don’t want to reject you.” Theodore spoke and immediately cursed internally when he saw her eyes twinkling like a star with hope. “Please don’t look at me in that way because you’re making a mistake.”

“Maybe,” Liara said, shrugging her shoulder.

“We won’t know until we figure that together. But…. but let me clear everything up again that ‘YOU WANT ME, RIGHT?’ This is what you mean by not rejecting me, isn’t it?”

Theodore bit his inner cheeks and nodded his head.

A smile appeared on Liara’s lips, “My wolf, Destiny wants to hug you in excitement but… but I know that we both are not ready for that.”

‘Seems like all mutts are the same. Thankfully this human is not in that way.’ Theodore thought. “I should leave now.” He said.

“When will we meet again?” Liara asked, stopping him. “From morning to night, we’re busy with our work. So, we can spend this time together.” She said, repeating Destiny’s words. She paused for a while and heard what Destiny said next and then spoke again, “I… I mean, I can help you teach the basic things because of which you can start reading and writing, and in.. in return, you can teach me how to fight.”

“You don’t have any problem that I can’t read or write?”

“No!!” Liara shook her head. “In fact, I’m glad that there is something between us that we can talk about.”

“Okay!!” Theodore agreed because he didn’t have any other choice than that. He had to give her time whether he liked it or not.

“Okay?” Liara was surprised at his answer. “Yeah! Okay. That will be okay for us.” She mumbled and held the wardrobe for support, feeling dizzy.

“You should rest tonight because the drugs started affecting your body.”

“I can’t feel pain, nor can I feel my whole body. It is turning my whole body numb.” Liara nodded her head and tried to walk toward the bed, but she lost her balance, and surprisingly her body didn’t kiss the floor because Theodore grabbed her waist.

‘Are you okay?’ He wanted to ask in concern, but as usual, no words came out of his mouth, but he watched Liara nodding her head as if she understood his unsaid words.

“I have deleted the CCTV footage in which these stupid girls broke Liara’s leg.” Theodore’s feet halted when he heard someone speaking this.

“Perfect. I don’t want any type of proof that those Haysbert can use against us to take Liara away from me.’ He heard the same voice which had to shout in the washroom by saying, ‘Liara is Mine.’ “Neither do I want any of their spy inside the pack because now that dad is gone, I don’t want anyone to inform anyone else about how I’m running my pack.”

‘Alpha Kane Pataky’ Theodore recognized that voice now, who had recently become the Alpha of the pack after his father’s death. Well, he didn’t die a natural death but was killed by some vampire.

‘There is something fishy with this man.’ Inigo muttered.

‘I know.’ Theodore agreed and returned back to Liara’s floor, which wasn’t locked. At first, he didn’t mind leaving the door unlocked, but now he wasn’t sure that was a good option. He locked the door from inside and checked the seven rooms except the one in which Liara was sleeping, which was on the floor, and wasn’t at all surprised by finding that there were books in five rooms.

‘We have to build a big library for her in the future.’ Inigo suggested. ‘Just like the beast gifted a big library for his beauty.’

‘Hmm.’ Theodore agreed at first, and then he realized what he had just agreed on, ‘What? No!!!! We don’t have a future.’

He then looked at the remaining two rooms. She had all her belongings in one of that rooms, as well as a bed, and she had a lab in the seventh room. After exploring the whole floor, he reached back to the room in which Liara was sleeping. After observing all the things carefully, he realized that it might be her study room, observing her laptop, table, and chair in the corner.

At last, his eyes landed on her, who was feeling peaceful, “What is so special about you, Liara? Why does that mutt want you?” he asked her.
