Chapter 19: Chapter 19

On the other side!!

“Theodore,” Beast mumbled and wondered why she kept calling him by that word. Was this his name that she kept? But why?

‘Isn’t it obvious that she gave this name out of love?’ Inigo suggested, on which Beast sneered.

‘Or maybe she named me out of pity. When she came to know that I don’t have any name, she just couldn’t resist herself from naming a stupid name out of greatness that obviously she is!!’ He said, getting angry. Well, little did he know that he was covering up his happiness with his anger. The fact that someone gave a name to him was a big thing for him. It was something he wanted when he was young and naive. Now, he still looked young but wasn’t naive anymore.

“What was that?” Alaric asked, walking inside the cave. “And what the hell is this?” He asked in shock when his eyes landed on Beast’s injury. It was like a shock to him to see Beast injured. Alaric quickly reached near him.

“What happened to you?”

“Nothing. It seems like these hunters are also getting stronger day by day.” Beast replied and tried to sit but hissed in pain.

“Stay still,” Alaric said, making him lie down on the ground. “I can’t believe that short girl is capable of doing this,” he muttered, getting angry. “I saw you were going behind her, but I didn’t follow you, thinking that one should stay there and watch everything calmly while you will kill her, or you went behind her to see where she was going, but when I didn’t return even when she returned to the pack, I started getting worried.”

“I had to unmask your scent to find you,” Alaric revealed. “See, this is what these dogs do when we show our kindness to them. You shouldn’t have saved her from me that night,” he added and kept bad-mouthing about her while Beast was trying his best not to give any type of reaction or action but deep down, he was ticking like a time bomb ready to blast any moment.

“I swear I won’t leave her the next time I see her alone. I have smelt that she is a virgin, but the next time, I will make sure that she won’t be a virgin….”

That was it.

Beast grabbed his throat, coming in front of him, ignoring all his pain. “MINE.” He growled at Alaric’s face. He would have killed him for sure, but he got confused when he saw Alaric laughing, even when he was in pain.

“She..she is yo..your mate, i..isn’t sh..she?” Alaric asked, grinning widely. Beast dropped him and hit his fist on the wall of the cave as hard as he could, making a layer of stones fall on the ground while Alaric coughed and laughed at the same time. “Sorry!!” he coughed and kept grinning. “I followed you,” he said.

Alaric had heard their conversation and everything that had happened. To be honest, he was just keeping an eye on him; that was why Elder Ozul had turned into a vampire, and that was his main job.

He wanted to go and help Beast when he was shot by the arrow, but that was when he watched how his mate ran toward him. He didn’t disturb them and watched everything by standing afar.

The fact that he could mask his scent, neither of them could sense his presence. And that was when he realized how that night Liara had found them. It wasn’t that his power didn’t work on her. It was just that she could sense him even though Beast’s scent was masked.

“Theodore, nice name, beasty!!” He said, grinning wide.

“Dare you!!” He warned.

“It means ‘gift of God’ or ‘divine gift.’ The original Greek name Theodoros is a compound of theos (God) and doron (gift).” Alaric said, knowing very well that he would have no idea of this name, and he was right about the way Beast became a statue after knowing the meaning of the name; it was clear that he wouldn’t have thought that the name his mate had given him could be this beautiful.

‘She thinks that I’m a ‘gift of god’ even when I told her that I’m a product of rape?’ Beast thought, trying to understand what kind of woman his mate was. The more he tried to hate her for what she was, the more her kindness and words shocked him.

“Don’t tell about it to ANYONE.” He said, warning Alaric, stressing the last word and also putting him in a situation where he had to choose between his loyalty toward his creator or his loyalty toward his fake friend. Alaric knew that if Elder Ozul would come to know about it, then he would be dead for sure. He wouldn’t think twice before killing him.

“And leave me alone.” He added.

“Okay, Theodore. As you say.” Alaric teased, on which he glared at him. “What? You have a name now. But if you want, I can still call you BEASTY. Okay!! Okay!! I’m leaving.” He laughed when Beast’s eyes turned red.
