Chapter 175: Chapter 175

“Grandpa, there are twenty fishes in the aquarium,” Arline said after investing all her time in counting the fish. Since there were moving here and there, she had to concentrate fully to count them right.

“That’s great.” Brandon held her hand, ready to leave. He watched Liara, who was standing at her place, watching Arline. A part of him wanted to walk toward her and hug her tightly but his ego was coming in between.

“Bye, Doctor!!” Arline said, waving her hand at Liara.

“Bye!!” Liara did the same and watched them leave. Her fist tightened to control the emotions that she was feeling at that moment. She took a deep breath and decided to do what her heart wanted. Brandon’s hand had touched the handle of the door when he heard.

“Dad”

His body froze, and he really wished that this not to be a fucking dream until he heard again, “Dad.”

“Grandpa, she is calling you ‘DAD.’ Arline said, looking in between Liara and Brandon. The moment Brandon turned around, he watched Liara running toward her and hugging him while his hands moved on his own, hugging her back.

Liara started shedding happy tears, “I’m sorry, dad. I shouldn’t have gone against you.” She sobbed in his arms. Brandon caressed her hair and was about to speak, ‘It’s okay’ when she beat him.

“Please let the past go and accept both of us,” Hearing this, Brandon’s grip around her loses.

‘US? Really?’

Liara sensed that, so she broke the hug to look at him, “Dad, please let this matter go. Theodore is…”

“A thief.”

“Excuse me?” Liara looked at him in disbelief.

“What is he doing these days? Robbing a jewelry store or rich people?” He asked and grabbed her hand, looking at her ring. “The ring which you’re wearing costs not less than 20 Million. From where did he rob it?”

Liara smiled and shook her head, pulling her hand from his, “Actually, he robbed the whole damn diamond mine, dad.” she said in a sarcastic tone.

“Lee…”

Liara showed her hand, signaling him to stay quiet, and a lone tear rolled out of her tears, “I have heard enough, dad. I don’t know what I was thinking before, but never mind; now I wouldn’t regret cutting all my ties with you. Before saying anything about my mate, don’t forget what kind of beast your father was. If you have forgotten that, I’m sure the memory of your older sister would be fresh in your mind, whom you burnt alive.”

“LIARA!!”

“Grandpa Logan and Grandma might have raised you, but the truth is the blood of real parents can always be seen in behavior. And this hatred, this anger, all these negative things of yours are something that you have received from your real fat..” Brandon raised his hand to slap Liara, but the door immediately opened with full force. Since Brandon was standing just behind it, he was pushed toward Liara. She was quick to hold him and move away from there before they would have fallen on the floor.

She looked at the intruder who did this and found Theodore holding Arline from falling to the ground; maybe he was here because he sensed her emotions.

“Are you okay, dad?” Liara asked him, helping him to stand straight. Brandon wanted to answer her rudely, but he couldn’t. He felt positive, free from anger and tension. He narrowed his eyes and looked at Liara, who was looking in concern.

He pulled his arms from her grips and turned around to leave with Arline, who was watching everything in confusion. But instead of her, his eyes first landed on Theodore. The tension was clear between them; Brandon picked Arline in his arms and walked out from there.

“You okay?” Theodore asked, reaching near her.

“Yeah!! I guess.” Liara muttered, running her finger through her hair. “I will see you later!! I have to check on my patients for now.” Theodore didn’t say anything, just leaned to kiss her forehead. He knew that mate bond would help her in relaxing.

Theodore had barely walked out of Liara’s cabin when he received a call. “Speak.” He said, receiving the call.

“Son, these rogues started tearing each other in pieces again for nothing.” A manly’s voice came from the other side.

“I will be back in a day or two. Handle them till then, Old man.”

“With your mysterious mate? Is she one of us? A rogue?” Theodore disconnected the call upon hearing this question. Liara’s family members had a problem that he was rogue, and his people were going to create the problem the fact that Liara was not one of them.

A/N: Sorry for the delay!! My four-year-old cousin dropped my laptop in order to check its weight, breaking the base of the laptop. I couldn't write a sentence in anger that kept building in my chest whenever I looked at my baby (Laptop). Hell, I'm still feeling pissed.

P.S.: Do you want me to fix a time to post the chapter? So that you don't have to check the app again and again?
