Chapter 174: Chapter 174
How?
Arline was no vampire who would go and start drinking the blood of any supernatural hunter. Or did someone plan this against her parents by hurting her?
Brandon spoke again to clear the thick air around them, “This is the sample of the poison that is in her blood.” With this, he passed a small bottle of that poison. He knew that Liara would need that poison to experiment on it.
“How come you have the sample of the poison?” Liara asked. The thought that someone else would have poisoned Arline vanished all of a sudden. Now, she could think of only one person who could make this.
“That shouldn’t be your business, Doctor Wayne,” Brandon said, not answering her question. The last thing he wanted to reveal was that he was planning to poison her mate. He didn’t want to face the fury of a wolf when it came to the safety of their mate.
“Okay then!! Tell me since when she has poison in her body and everything that you know about her medical condition.” Liara asked, even though she had read Arline’s file already. As far as she knew, there was no cure for this. Hell, supernatural hunter’s blood was that poison that had the power to kill any supernatural creature if a heavy dose would be given to any creature.
“Hmm. I will need her blood test report; after that, I will see what I can do in this case.” Liara said after listening to everything. As for now, there were no symptoms of the poison in Arline’s body. At the same time, she figured out that Arline had this poison in her body for around two years.
“She will be alright, right?” Brandon asked hopefully.
“Mr. Haysbert, I won’t give you any hope. There is no such medicine that can help your granddaughter. Still, I will see what I can do on my behalf.” Brandon’s stomach twitched hearing this. He didn’t want this life for Arline. He had consulted almost every best doctor in this case, and the result was always negative in the end.
“But…. but you’re a healer.”
“Yes, I’m. And every time I heal someone, I feel that pain. In the process of healing Arline, I will end up getting my powers blocked. Call me selfish, but I’m not planning to do that. Moon Goddess didn’t bless me with this power to serve just for my family members but for others as well.” Liara replied professionally. Brandon nodded his head; in fact, he himself didn’t want Liara to do that.
“I understand,” he muttered, and his eyes landed on the ring which was on Liara’s finger. He controlled himself from getting surprised watching the most expensive red diamond in her hand, The Moussaieff Red Diamond, whose worth was no less than 20 Million. He was positive that Liara would have no idea that the ring she was wearing was so expensive, or she would have stored it in a locker instead of wearing it.
Brandon stood up on his feet, taking his cue to leave, but he couldn’t understand from where that Loser would have been able to manage this diamond.
“Arline, Princess!! Time to leave.”
