Chapter 16: Chapter 16
‘Two years!! It has been fucking two years since I met that red hair witch. I knew that she was a mutt, not a witch, but for me, she wasn’t less than a witch. A witch who had brought tsunamis, cyclones, floods, and all the natural disasters that could have happened in my life. Not a single night I stayed without thinking about her. And guess what? I would blame that dog within me for that.’
‘Hey, don’t blame me!! You used to inject wolfsbane into your body to shut me. So, it wasn’t always me who kept thinking about her.’ Inigo retorted.
Beast ignored him like always. He stayed hidden around the pack to note down the security of the pack. The timing of when and who stepped out of the pack on a regular, weekly, or monthly basis. Unlike vampires, he didn’t have just one power in him; he could become invisible, take anyone’s shape and size, and read the minds of the people. Elder Ozul kind of assumed that this was the result of getting raped by multiple vampires, but at the same time, he couldn’t share this news with Beast.
So, it was a kind of mystery for the Beast about his multiple powers.
Little did anyone know that he had recently got a chance to enter the pack and had started collecting information about each and everything. He hated to admit it, but the security of the pack was really too tight than he had ever seen. The packs were full of top-trained warriors of multiple packs as well. Not just that, the pack had a good relationship with the witches as well as hunters, which were kind of enemies to vampires.
So, the Beast had to plan everything wisely. He then realized why Elder Ozul had said that this work might take years.
While doing all this, he tried to stay away from Liara as much as he could because the fact that she could sense him wasn’t very good news, but at the same time, he wouldn’t deny how much he wanted to stay close to her and keep watching her.
Though it wasn’t of his use but when he came to know that she was one of the brightest students in the medical college, he felt so proud of her. At the same time, he felt this bond was nothing but a big mistake by Mother Selene because his mate was too good at studies while he didn’t even know how to read or write. While Liara’s world was around her book, and for him, a book was nothing but a pile of papers.
‘You won’t kill her or her family members, will you?’ Inigo asked, knowing very well why his other half was around this area. He was for anything but not for their mate.
Hell, he hated her for being a werewolf. 'Trust me; I will kill her with my own hand so that she won't have to bear painful death by the vampires. I mean, as an EX-mate, I can at least do this to her, but before that, I needed to reject her.' Beast replied nonchalantly.
He wouldn’t lie, but the thought of accepting her as his mate might come in his find for once but then wouldn’t her life would become a living hell by staying by her side? The moment everyone would come to know about it in Coven. They would demand to share her with them at least once. And that was something that HE COULDN’T LET HAPPEN.
At the same time, he wouldn’t go against his own community for a mutt whom he barely knew.
‘You won’t get to know her until you give her a chance to know her.’ Inigo pointed out. ‘
‘Ah! You have so much trust in that mutt, don’t you? I bet she knows that we are out here, but she doesn’t care to come to talk to us. Why? Either she hates us for what we are, or she doesn’t want us. And I won’t be surprised if she rejects us the moment we come face to face again.’ Beast scoffed, on which Inigo whimpered. He really trusted Moon Goddess with her decision.
While he was thinking all this, they watched Liara stepping out of the pack in someone’s else cross. They could smell it. They watched her every move silently to see what she was up to.
Liara went behind the tree, and after a minute, a beautiful red wolf walked out. Inigo looked at her in awe. After all, her wolf looked so beautiful. They were taken aback when her eyes turned in their direction as if she could see them even though they were invisible.
And then she turned her head and started running.
