Chapter 141: Chapter 141
“For asking her to leave? No.” Sophia replied. “Even Caro lives with her mate.” She added. The only thing that she didn’t approve of was cutting all the ties with her daughter and never seeing her ever again, but then, she couldn’t say that Liara was right as their daughter. But yes, Sophia was proud of her because, as a mate, what Liara did was something that if she would have been in Liara’s place, then she would have done the same for Brandon.
“Don’t insult Artemis by comparing him with that loser.” Brandon scoffed. “And by choosing that loser, Lee proved that she is also now a loser. Nothing else.” He added in anger. Sophia didn’t say anything about that because it was true that by choosing Theodore, Liara had risked everything, and this was something even Sophia didn’t want it.
“This wouldn’t have happened if that poison would have worked at him,” Brandon muttered in frustration.
“Poison? What poison?” Sophia asked in shock.
“Go and ask Colton to come here,” Brandon ordered Lily, who brought water for her. She nodded her head and went toward Colton’s room. Brandon looked at Sophia, who was waiting for the answer to her question. “I had asked Lily to mix some poison that Colton had given in the orange juice that will block his powers, but it looks like it didn’t work.”
Sophia looked at her husband in shock. How could he do that? Well, if he was planning to kill him, then he could do anything, right?
“You had mixed it in Orange juice?” Colton asked, not hiding his shock. Something that he rarely shows. Colton clearly remembered Arline drinking orange juice when he had arrived, and she was standing near Theodore.
“Yes, and it didn’t work on him,” Brandon said in irritation.
“That’s because he never drank that juice. Ar… Arline..” he stammered, not able to complete that sentence. Brandon’s face paled when he understood Colton’s half-sentence. He quickie left the couch and searched for the kids, and found them playing video games. Arline looked perfectly fine, but… it was from outside.
“Tell me that you have an antidote to this poison,” Brandon said, getting nervous. He wanted to hear any answer except YES. Brandon didn’t get any reply for a while, but at the same time, Colton’s silence answered his question already. “Give the sample of the poison to Lee immediately so that she will start studying it immediately.” He said, getting panicky.
“Not just that, we will have to send the sample of that poison to all the people who have knowledge of medicines and herbs as soon as possible,” Brandon spoke. Arline was just two years old, so that wasn’t a big problem for her.
But at the age of twelve, her witch’s power would get activated, and at the age of eighteen, her wolf. So, she needed to be cured before that time limit.
“Lee!!” Brandon called Liara, and everyone watched him. “Lily, call…” Brandon immediately realized the incident that had happened before. “Nothing.” He muttered, frowning.
“I doubt anyone can create the antidote of this poison, dad. Because I have used my blood to prepare this poison, and we all know that my blood is incurable for a supernatural creature.” Colton told him loud and clear. At the same time, he realized that he was nothing but just cursed to all his family members.
Brandon bit his inner cheeks, hearing this. The grave that he had dug for someone else, his own granddaughter, fell in it.
‘Or maybe he already knew about it and knowingly gave that juice or Arline?’ Brandon wondered. There was no doubt in the fact that he was smart.
“There must be someone, Colton. We…we can’t lose hope. But for now, what will I say the Caro and Artemis?”
“Truth.” Calvin suggestion. “I mean, they Arli’s parents.” He added, thinking of him as a father of Roselet. He would have the right to know everything about his daughter. He really hoped that there would be some antidote to this because a supernatural creature without power was no less than a taboo in the supernatural world. Family members might treat them as a normal kid, but the world wouldn’t.
