Chapter 29: Chapter 29

“The king is going to kill me when he finds out I’m helping his son sneak out of the palace, and not only the palace, but his kingdom.” Ayman whispered as they crossed the boundaries of the kingdom.

“That is a big lie. Ayman. My father loves you so much to kill you. He’ll forgive you eventually. I know Damon has a plan to keep you out of trouble.” Megan uttered, and they both looked at Damon.

“Please tell me you have a plan, even if you don’t.” Ayman answered, and Damon gulped.

“I have a plan.” He answered, and Ayman nodded.

“So, now that we are in the woods, on our way to another wolf territory that is probably prepared to have us. Shouldn’t we talk about how we’re going to win against them?” Ayman added, and Megan looked at him.

“Damon should have thought of something.” She muttered.

“Okay… both of you. Look! I have no plans, I have no ideas! I am going there because I have to get Belinda out of there even though it costs me my life. I can’t live without her, okay? And I need both of you, because I can’t do it alone. I’m not strong enough to face a whole pack, but with you two by my side, this will be easier.” Damon uttered in frustration and pain, making them keep shut.

They had remorseful faces on and bounced their heads.

“Okay, I can worry about the king later.” Ayman uttered.

“And I can forget about you not having an idea and fight whoever wants to hurt our girl.” Megan added.

Damon let out a feeble smile and nodded. “Thank you. Now, let’s move fast.” He told them, and took the lead as they began to run.

As they drew closer to the pack boundary where Belinda was kept, Damon’s heart began to bear very fast. And it was the same for Belinda too.

Her heart suddenly started to race. She raised her head weakly and looked outside the boundaries as she felt her bond with Damon strengthen.

“I can feel him. He is here.” She said in a whisper.

She looked around her and couldn’t see any of the pack members, but she was fully aware they were camping around, waiting to ambush Damon.

She kept her eyes out in expectation to see the love of her life show up and deliver her from all the trauma even though she knew it could cost him his life.

And just as she guessed, she saw them.

“Holy moons… not this tree again.” Megan muttered in disgust and anger.

Damon clenched his jaws fiercely as he stared at Belinda from afar. She was naked and this drove him even crazier.

“I am going to tear that place down.” He grunted in rage and began to storm towards the boundaries. Ayman and Megan exchanged looks, and afterwards, followed behind him, fully ready to face anyone.

“Prince Damon.” She called in a whisper as she saw him first. He held his bow and arrow up, reading to fire it at anyone that would stop him.

He jumped over the small fence into the compound and placed his finger on his lips, telling her not to talk. Belinda looked around her to see if the members of the pack would jump out now, but nothing happened.

Damon moved closer to her and the first thing he did was kiss her freezing lips. Her frosty breath met his mouth as they kissed deeply.

“I’m so sorry, Belinda. I should have protected you from those people.” He said as he placed his forehead on hers.

“I’m sorry too. For leaving you when you needed me the most.” Belinda was close to tears as she responded.

“I’ll get you out of here now.” He answered and immediately started working on how to cut the ropes they tied her with.

“Did you come here alone? I’m scared, but Alpha…”

“Well, well, well. If it isn’t her little wolf, who else will be sneaking into my pack boundaries at night.”

‘Talk of the devil!’ Belinda yelled in her head as Alpha Cephas’ speech cut her statement short. They both looked at him and saw him standing a few meters away from them, with an evil grin on his face.

Behind him were almost everyone in the pack, all in their wolf forms.

‘If they are in this form, the arrows won’t work.’ Belinda thought in fear of Damon being killed in the process.

Damon slowly let go of the rope and turned to face him.

“I’m happy you were expecting me. At least, I kept you on your toes again, just like I’ve always done.” Damon answered, showing no sign of fear for Cephas.

“Wow. Such bravery coming from someone who is about to face a whole pack. I’m impressed.” Alpha Cephas responded with a chuckle of mockery as he began to move closer to him, alongside his pack members.

“Stay away from him! I’m the one you want! Leave him out of this!” Belinda yelled fearfully, trying to cut loose from the rope she was bound with.

“You really thought I’ll come here alone?” Damon scoffed and looked to his right, and that was when Megan and Ayman flew in.

Belinda’s eyes widened immediately she saw Megan jump in. “You came too?” She asked in both excitement and fear.

“Yes. You’re my sister, remember?” She asked and winked at her before looking at Alpha Cephas again.

“Ha ha ha.” Alpha Cephas let out an evil laugh and shook his head. “So these are all the people that came with you to fight a whole pack? Just the three of you?”

“You should be scared, Alpha Cephas. Three of us are more than enough to take you down.” Prince Damon answered with such bravery, and Belinda gulped.

‘Are they really more than enough?’ She reminisced in terror.

“Okay then. Let’s see if you can last up to twenty minutes in this fight…” He looked at the wolves behind him and said;

“Leave their leader. He’s mine.”

Belinda’s heart sank down to her belly when she heard Alpha Cephas’ statement.

“No… No! Run, Prince Damon! Please.” She cried loudly.

“Never!” Damon growled as both he and Alpha Cephas shapeshifted.

Belinda’s heart skipped a beat as she watched them storm at each other in their wolf’s form. She could see the anger in their faces, but she was still scared for Damon.

He had no such strength to face an Alpha. He was yet to be one.

Cephas and Damon clashed with great vigor and growls, snarls, and grunts filled the air of the pack boundary.

Belinda looked at Megan and Ayman and saw how dedicated to the fight they were. They were facing about seven wolves, but they seemed to be under control.

But for Damon…

Belinda’s eyes popped wide open as she saw Alpha Cephas dip his fangs into Damon’s forearms, making him whimper.

“No! Prince Damon!” Belinda cried out as she watched Alpha Cephas defeating him. Her cry made him look at her and this gave Damon the opportunity to get on his feet again.

He moved back and tried to stand on his forearm, but he couldn’t. It was broken. He began to limp.

“Please, Alpha Cephas! Let him go and just kill me!” Belinda yelled in anger and hatred.

She knew he was still recovering from the previous attack and that he was too weak to leave a scar on Cephas.

Cephas charged at him again but Damon dodged to the side, using his momentum to send him sprawling. But this didn’t last for long before Alpha Cephas turned to face him again.

He went right for Damon’s neck this time. Damon tried fighting him back, but it wasn’t enough. He grabbed Damon by the neck and put him down.

Belinda’s jaw dropped in disbelief as she saw blood ooze out from Damon’s neck. And when she thought that was all, Alpha Cephas went in for the final attack and it was Damon’s head this time.

“No!!!!” Belinda yelled with all the strength in her as she saw Damon fall to the ground like he was lifeless. He changed to his human form and he was covered in blood.

“Prince Damon!” She called but he didn’t respond to her. Her breathing pace increased and she her hands were vibrating in anger.

Cephas changed to his human form and let out an evil laugh.

“Why are you crying? You really thought your little wolf had a chance against me?” He muttered in mockery as he moved closer to her.

Belinda clenched her jaws and tightened her fist as he drew closer to her. She wanted to do only one thing. She wanted to kill Cephas.

“Now, it’s time to kill you. I enjoyed humiliating your mate in front of you and everyone else in this pack.” He uttered, looking at everyone who was staring at them.

Maeve, and other woman from the pack. Maeve hated that he had to fight with Prince Damon after telling him that Maisie was in love with him, but she couldn’t stop Cephas, and she couldn’t tell Maisie about it too, so she sent Maisie away before the fight.

Belinda’s eyes locked with Maeve from where she stood, and Maeve looked away.

“No one can save you now, darling.” He whispered, caressing her cheek with his sharp fingernails.

As he touched her, Belinda’s anger increased, and suddenly she began to feel something inside of her. It was overwhelming, but in a good way.

Her panting increased and grew louder every passing second. Alpha Cephas took a few steps backward in confusion when he noticed what was going on with her.

She was changing.

Her grunts slowly turned into loud snarls, catching everyone unaware. Cephas looked at her fingers and saw they were beginning to grow more contours.

“Her wolf.” He uttered in a whisper, and this was followed by the loud crackle of the tree she was tied to. The tree broke into two and the rope that bond her to it broke into pieces.

Everyone’s jaw dropped to the ground as they watched Belinda change into her wolf form like it wasn’t new to her.

And the most surprising thing was the color of her fur. The rarest fur since the beginning of Wolf existence.

“A red-furred wolf?!” Everyone exclaimed.

Belinda snarled as she faced Alpha Cephas, and for the best time her whole life, she saw fear written all over him. But this wasn’t going to stop her.

She was going to kill him for hurting her mate.
