Chapter 36: Chapter 36

"WHAT do you want?" Gideon asked me.

In front of us were different food stalls.

I pursed my lips as I scanned the stalls in front of us. "I'm still full. Let's just buy popcorn."

"What flavor?" He turned to me.

"Plain butter."

"How about drinks?"

I glanced at the crew who I noticed was staring at Gideon for a while now. "Just water."

Gideon then repeated our order to the crew who seemed very attentive to him. I stopped myself from rolling my eyes. Yeah. I got it. Women were easily drawn by his looks.

"I hope you enjoy the movie," the blonde woman said to Gideon. There was a wide smile on her face.

I couldn't help but scoff. She was obviously trying to flirt with Gideon. I turned to Gideon to see his reaction. He seemed oblivious to the flirting of the woman in front of him.

I pursed my lips to stifle a smile.

"Yeah. We will enjoy it, Miss." I said, with an upturned smile on my face.

"What's funny?"

I turned to Gideon. We were already walking away from the popcorn stall. I was holding the bucket of popcorn in my left hand while my right one was occupied with our drinks.

I noticed Gideon was looking at me curiously.

I raised one of my eyebrows at him. "Nothing. I'm just excited to watch the movie."

I couldn't tell him that I was satisfied with him being oblivious to the blonde's flirting.

"Really?" A small smirk appeared on his lips.

I slightly rolled my eyes. "Of course, it's Marvel. Besides, it's been a while since I last watched a movie."

I remembered the last time I watched a movie in the cinema. That was six months ago. I was already married to Gideon at that time. Of course, I was alone then.

"I'm sorry I'm making you hold that," he said, pointing at the food in my hand.

I just shrugged. "No. It's totally fine."

I watched him as he walked using his crutch. It's been a week since he started using crutches. He seemed already comfortable with it.

"When was the last time you'd watch a movie?" Gideon asked after we settled on our seats. We were in the balcony section of the movie house.

The movie still hasn't started so the lights were still on.

"Six months ago," I said. "It was also a marvel movie."

"And who were you with?"

I slightly looked around. The place was starting to get filled with people. Well, this had always been expected from a Marvel movie.

"I was alone."

"W-we were already married at that time, right?"

I popped a piece of popcorn in my mouth and turned to him. "Yeah, Gideon."

"We never watched movies together?"

I chuckled. "We couldn't stand each other, Gideon." I raised my brow at him. "You were on a three-day business trip at that time. I had nothing else to do so I spent those three days watching movies."

"So… this is our first time together?" He slightly raised his brow.

I pursed my lips. "Well, yeah." This was my first time in the cinema with him.

He gave me a smile. "Let's make this memorable, then. I want to build good memories with you."

The corner of his lips curled up as he took some popcorn from the bucket I was holding.

I didn't know why I was suddenly affected by what he said. Good memories?

"Shut up, Gideon. We're just watching a movie."

How could he make good memories inside the cinema when we won't literally do anything except watch?

"Excuse me."

Gideon tore his eyes from me when someone occupied the seat beside him. It was a woman. A brunette in his early twenties.

I noticed how the woman smiled at Gideon. I remembered the blonde woman at the food stall earlier.

I just cleared my throat and turned to the screen. The lights were already turned off. The movie was about to start.

"Oh, damn. Did you see that?"

I was forced to tear my eyes from the big screen when I heard an annoying voice. I looked at my side. My brows automatically furrowed when I saw that the woman beside Gideon was trying to talk to him.

She was even slightly leaning on Gideon's shoulders.

"Uh… yeah." I heard Gideon answer reluctantly.

My eyes went to Gideon who seemed uncomfortable with the woman beside him. The furrows on my forehead went deeper.

If he's uncomfortable, then why isn't he speaking? Why was he letting that woman lean against him?

Have you forgotten, Bianca? This was no longer the Gideon that you knew.

I slightly rolled my eyes before I cleared my throat.

Gideon attentively turned to me. "Bianca? Is there a problem?"

I stopped myself from rolling my eyes at him.

"The woman beside you, Gideon," I said in a whisper. "She's leaning over you. Move over here."

Gideon cleared his throat before he leaned his head closer to me. "I hadn't noticed, Bianca," Gideon whispered back.

He was too close to me that I could feel his breath directly on my skin. His breath was hot and I didn't know why I was getting affected.

I cleared my throat, then I looked past Gideon.

The woman beside him already shifted from her seat. I pursed my lips before my attention went back to the screen.

"I hadn't realized the movie was more than two hours," Gideon muttered beside me. "I wished the fight scenes were longer." He groaned.

The movie had already finished. We were on the way out of the movie house. From the looks of him, it seemed that he really did enjoy the movie.

I shrugged. "We just have to wait for another year for the sequel."

Gideon breathed. "Well, yeah. I guess that's just it." He let out a satisfied sigh and then looked at me. "I enjoyed our first date here in the movie house, Bianca. I hope you enjoyed it, too."

I slightly raised my brow. "I enjoyed it because it's my favorite movie series, Gideon."

The corner of his lips tugged up in a smile. "Well, the only important thing is that you enjoy—"

"Mister!"

Gideon and I stopped in our tracks when a woman went to us. My brows furrowed. It was the woman who was seated beside Gideon earlier.

"Hi," the woman particularly said to Gideon.

Now that we were already out of the cinema, I could clearly see her face.

Well, she was pretty with her straight brunette hair and barbie doll face. She looked like she was only in her early twenties.

"Uh, you left this on your seat." The woman smiled sweetly at Gideon as she handed him a cell phone. His cellphone.

"Oh. That's my phone." Gideon muttered. "Thank you for this…"

"Shanelle," the woman supplied.

"Thank you, Shanelle," Gideon said, returning the woman's smile.

I couldn't understand why I suddenly felt annoyed with their exchange of smiles.

"You're welcome," the woman replied, her smile grew even wider and I stopped myself from rolling my eyes. She looked smitten with Gideon and she didn't even try to hide it in front of me.

"So… I was hoping I could get your number?" the woman asked, her lips pursed and her fingers playing with her hair.

This time, I couldn't help but open my mouth. This woman was shamelessly asking for Gideon's number in front of me?

Wow.

"Miss—"

"Excuse me." This time, I couldn't help but cut Gideon off.

Both Gideon and the woman looked at me.

I raised my brows at the woman, Shanelle, whatever her name was. "Are you seriously hitting on my husband, in front of me?"

The woman just pursed her lips. Then she blinked. "Oh, you two are married? I'm sorry, you don't look like you're his wife." Her eyes even shamelessly went to my hand. "You're not even wearing any wedding ring."

My lips parted in bewilderment and annoyance. But before I could say something back at her, I already heard Gideon beside me.

"We're married, Miss. I'm sorry I can't give you my number."

"Oh. What a shame. Thanks, though." The woman smiled again at Gideon before walking away from us.

"I can't believe her!" I annoyingly muttered as I watched the woman's back.

"Why are you so annoyed?"

I looked at Gideon who was staring at my face. There was an amused expression in his eyes as he watched me.

"Well, that woman just insulted me," I answered, raising my brow at him. "Did you hear what she said? I don't look like your wife? What was she implying by that? That I'm not good-looking enough to be considered your wife?"

Gideon pursed his lips. There was a ghost of a smile in it. "She didn't say that. You're just overthinking things, Bianca. Nobody would look at you and believe you're not beautiful." Gideon raised his hand and fixed something on my hair.

I blinked for a moment before I could react. "Shut up. I saw the way that woman looked at me."

"Is that really the reason you're annoyed?" Gideon probed. Now, there was an obvious smile playing on his lips.

"What other reason are you talking about?"

"Perhaps you're jealous?"

Jealous?

Gideon looked at me, his blue eyes were suddenly serious. "Are you finally jealous, Bianca?"

I met his stares and let out an incredulous chuckle. "Dream on, Gideon Henry."
