Chapter 35: Chapter 35

"ARE you sure you can go to work now?"

Gideon asked me.

I tilted my head to Gideon after putting on my sneakers.

"I'm already fine since yesterday, Gideon. I had no reason to skip work."

"I'll fetch you tonight. We'll be going somewhere."

I looked at him for a moment. I was about to protest, but then I remembered the deal that I made with him. I had agreed to go on a date with him. For two months. I drew a deep breath and nodded. "Oh. Okay."

He smiled at me. "See you, wife."

"See you."

"You're husband's here, Bianca," Kelly announced beside me.

I stopped from stacking the children's books on the bookshelf.

I looked at the counter, and immediately saw Gideon. He was standing there and talking to Jeff.

Wearing a dark long-sleeved polo shirt that rolled to his elbows and black slacks, he looked like a formidable businessman.

I looked at my reflection from the glass panel of Rory's office. Some strands of my hair were loose from my French bun.

I absentmindedly fixed my hair and bit my lips to give a slight color to my lips.

"You know, you can use the restroom if you want to fix yourself."

Kelly turned to me with a teasing smile on her face. She was holding a thick Harry Potter book.

I cleared my throat and frowned. "I don't need to fix myself."

Damn. What was happening to me? It wasn't as if I was excited to go on a date with him.

I shook my head.

"How are you?" Gideon asked the moment I went to him. He placed the back of his hand on my forehead. "No headaches?"

"I'm already fine, Gideon."

"What happened to Bianca? Is she sick?" Kelly asked, who was obviously listening to us.

"She had a fever the other day."

Kelly's eyes widened a bit. "Oh. Are you okay now, Bianca? You shouldn't have gone to work if you still don't feel fine."

I smiled at her. "I'm already good." I cleared my throat. "I just had a slight fever. Nothing serious."

"That's good. Anyway, See you tomorrow, Bianca." Kelly said when I bid them goodbye.

"Where are we going?" I asked Gideon.

We were already inside the car.

He took out something from his coat's pocket. I frowned.

Then my lips parted when I saw what it was. Movie tickets. To the latest Marvel movie.

"I heard from Hanna that you wanted to watch this movie."

I blinked. Yeah. I remembered Hanna and I talked about that movie the other day.

"These tickets are for the last full show," Gideon said. "So let's eat dinner first?"

"Yeah. Sure," I cleared my throat, trying to hide any emotion on my face. I didn't want him to see that I was excited about the movie with him.

"How did you become a fan of Marvel?" Gideon asked me while we were having dinner.

We were in a Mexican restaurant near the movie house.

"It started with my father," I said as I ate some nachos. "He's a huge Marvel fan. He's the one who introduced me to Marvel comics, then later on to Marvel movies." I smiled when I remembered dad.

"You seemed very close to your parents."

"I was. I'm an only child so their attention was all on me." I looked at him, who was busy eating a taco. I noticed how his jaw moved with his every bite.

I cleared my throat. "How about you? What's your favorite movie?"

"Movie?" He licked his lower lip. "I didn't know, Bianca." He chuckled a little. "I have amnesia, remember?"

"Oh, right." I pursed my lips. Why did I forget about that? Of course, he didn't remember watching movies.

"But don't worry, I know Marvel," he smiled at me.

My brows furrowed. "Huh?"

He pursed his lips. "I've been watching Marvel movies since the other day."

My eyes widened a little. "R-really?" He really did make an effort to watch Marvel movies because of me, huh?

"Yeah." He smiled. "I like Black Widow. She's pretty cool."

"She's my favorite character," I couldn't help but mutter. "She's a badass."

"Yeah, I agree."

Gideon and I talked about Marvel characters the entire dinner.

"No. I'm Team Tony on that." I said when we've talked about a particular scene in the Civil War movie.

"Nah. I think Cap's the right one. Team Cap here."

"Oh, shut up, Gideon." I rolled my eyes at him.

He grinned. "Nah. Team Cap."

I shot him daggers as I continued to eat. "Shut up!"

"Fine. I'll let you win since you're my wife."

"Shut up, Gideon. Don't use our marriage on this. Just admit that Team Tony's right on that."

To my surprise, he just laughed at me.

"You're cute when you roll your eyes at me."

I frowned at him. But then I stilled when I noticed the sauce on the corner of his chin. I picked up a tissue and handed it to him.

"You have something on your chin." I said to his confused face.

"Oh." Instead of getting the tissue from me, he just leaned his face closer to me. "Can you wipe it off for me?"

I raised my brow at him.

"Come on, Bianca. I'll be on Team Tony if you do that."

I scoffed at him, but in the end, I just sighed and wiped the cheese on his chin.

While doing that, I couldn't help but look at his lips.

He's really got a pair of naturally red and kissable lips. That pair of lips punished mine a couple of times.

His past kisses were always punishing, hard… harsh. I wondered how those lips tasted if he would kiss me differently…

"Bianca?"

I suddenly snapped out of my reverie. Gideon was looking at me curiously. As if trying to read my entire face.

I felt my cheeks heat up with the kind of thoughts running in my head.

What the hell, Bianca?

I dropped my hand and averted my gaze. "There." I cleared my throat and looked at my watch. "Come on, let's finish this. I don't want to be late for the movie."
