Chapter 27: Chapter 27

"Can we just not get up?" September asked while rolling on the bed while Maeve was pulling his arm.

"No! You promised me we'll be out today!" Maeve whined as she struggled to pull September away from the bed.

"Let's just kiss, alright?" September negotiated as if that would benefit both sides.

"You kissing addict!" Maeve accuses as she pointed out to him after letting go of his arms. He turned around to looked at the fuming expression on his wife's face.

"And whose fault is that?" He asked smirking.

Maeve was speechless. She just taught him how to kiss and he just got too addicted and became a kissing monster!

"Who taught me how to kiss?" He continued to tease.

"September!" Maeve called out, irritated. They were about to wander around the island yesterday but her kissing monster didn't want to and instead promised her to do it today.

There's no way she'll stay in this rest house for the rest of the day!

She conceded yesterday and there would be no replay for that!

She can still feel a light swelling on her lips after yesterday's experiments and lessons.

"Please? I really wanna go out." She finally gave in to her trump card as she sweetly told him what she wanted to do.

September, being a whipped husband, can't stand that longing look in those pretty eyes and so he sighed and sat on the bed. Maeve wasn't surprised when September pulled her down and placed her on his lap, straddling him. Her arms automatically rounded around his neck.

"Give me a kiss first." He said earning a groan from his wife.

"My lips are still swollen!" She complained.

"It's still soft and delicious." He argued.

Maeve didn't know whether to laugh or cry. How can he talk about her lips as if it's a food he devours?

"Just one!" She said, admitting defeat just so they can go out already.

September enthusiastically nodded with a grin, making his wife's eyes squint at him with suspicions.

"Only one!" She reminded and waited for September to nod before she leaned down a bit to award him with his most awaited kiss.

She was just planning for a quick peck but he had different plans. When she was about to lean away from him, his palm found her nape and pulled her closer.

Maeve's lips parted with surprise with this action, which September immediately took advantage of.

Wasn't it supposed to be one kiss only?!

But before she can even voiced out her protests, she had been completely devoured by the hungry beast.

"What?" September asked, chuckling when he caught her glaring at him as they walked along the shore. Although the island is privately owned by him, he let some people, specially the locals that were already living there before he bought the island stay in some parts of the island and even let some guests come by once in a while, so the locals that were living in the island had built some stores and souvenir shops near the coastal area.

"My lips were all swollen! It was supposed to be one kiss!" She hissed in a low voice, avoiding to catch the attention of other people nearby.

"That was just one kiss," September pointed out as he put his arms around her shoulders as they walk towards the souvenir shops.

"One kiss? Lasting for almost ten minutes?" She asked in disbelief but the culprit just laughed at her.

After entering the souvenir shops one by one, Maeve and September engrossed themselves looking around.

"I'll try this," September nodded and watched her went inside a mini fitting room to try a hand-knitted pair of clothes.

He looked around the shop while waiting for Maeve to finish. But something caught his attention. He looked back at the fitting room to check if his wife's done but after confirming that she wasn't, he walked towards a table placed outside the shop with a banner that states 'make your own jewelry'.

He was suddenly reminded how the old man during the anniversary party of the MBC stared at Maeve's fingers.

"Good Afternoon, sir! What do you intend to make, sir? Necklace? Bracelet? Earrings? Or do you want to make anklets?" Ask the boy who was seated behind the table.

"A ring." He answered in a low voice.

"Oh! For your girlfriend?" The boy asked smiling while preparing for the materials that would be needed.

"For my wife." He corrected.

"She would surely loved this. Since you would be the one making it, you're sincerity and love would be passed down to your handwork." The boy said as he gestured for September to take a seat and placed the mini tool box in front of him.

After a few moments of teaching how it works, September was now fully engrossed with working on twisting the gold material into infinity knots.

He wanted it to be simple and yet mesmerizing. Just like his wife.

This would only be a temporary ring, since he's planning on buying a true one after they went back to the city.

"So you decided to make an infinity knot ring. Do you know that this type of rings signifies eternal love?" The boy then shared the history of those types of rings. September was listening as he work on finishing the product.

"Great! It's almost done. You just need to polish it like this..." The boy said as he showed how it's done using his own sample.

"Thank you," September said as he closed the small woven box where the ring was placed and put it on his pocket. The boy's eyes were sparkling while looking at him.

The tip he gave was even bigger the price of the ring itself. It was the first time, someone had done it so the boy was so shocked, he wasn't even able to say a proper goodbye.

"Where did you came from?" Maeve asked when they finally met after almost three hours.

"I thought you left already." She added, which caused for September's forehead to creased.

"I just looked around while waiting for you and I lost track of the time. Sorry," he said as he took the three paper bags away from her and carried it instead.

"Oh. Okay." Maeve answered, shrugging her shoulders.

"By the way, I bought you a shirt. Are you wearing pink?" He laughed when she asked that.

"What? What's funny? You haven't tried it yet." Maeve said, slightly frowning.

"Why pink of all color?" He asked laughing.

"Because it's cute and I bought the same shirt design and color for me." She explained which immediately satisfied September.

"Look!" She said and even took the shirts out of the bags. It was like a couple shirt.

"It's so cute! I'm gonna wash this tonight and so that we can wear it tomorrow!" She proclaimed in a sing-song voice making September chuckle as he coped up with her steps.
