Chapter 26: Chapter 26

September didn't know what to do. He had never been with any other woman and was extremely inexperienced in the field of romance.

Maeve pulled away after a few seconds, irritation drawn on her face.

"Will you fucking kiss me back?!" September stared at her, stupified.

"I... I don't know how." September admitted as he looked down to hide the redness of his face.

Maeve stared at him blankly before she gasped in disbelief as she stared at her capable husband. He seems to be good about everything but... kissing?

Seriously?

"Haven't you kissed any of your girls before?" She asked gently. Taking care not to bruise his ego.

September looked up a bit and with innocent and shy eyes, he shook his head.

"I never had any girls. You're my first and last." Maeve's lips parted after hearing him say that. She felt her heart flutter and she can even feel things on her stomach. Was it the butterflies she usually heard about?

"I'm sorry. I'll find a way to learn that so---"

"And how are you supposed to do that?" She asked, curiously.

No wonder she never heard him asked her about 'those' stuffs. She was starting to think that she wasn't seductive enough to please and awoken her desires even though they were sleeping together on the same bed every goddamn night. Turns out, her husband's innocent.

"I don't know. I'm sorry..." He answered, almost whispering. He felt embarrassed that he can't even satisfy his wife with a kiss. He was willing to give her everything but he can't even give her an enjoyable kiss. What kind of husband is he?

"Hey..." Maeve called out as she held his face to faced her.

"Hey. Look at me." She said gently and waited for him to look back at her before she showed one of her sweetest smiles.

"It's alright." She answered as she tries to assure her after seeing how down casted her husband is.

"No. It's not alright. How can I... How can I not know how to kiss? How stupid of me!" He said, scolding himself like a child.

Maeve can't help but chuckle as she watched her husband acting like a self-deprived kid.

It's so adorable.

She softly pinched his cheeks to get his attention back.

"It's alright. I can always teach you." She said with a playful smile.

"Teach me?" September asked, his forehead creasing.

"You're that experienced?" He asked. His tone in between amusement and jealousy. That's why Maeve just shrugged her shoulder before she tooke her hands away from his face.

September thought she was about to head back inside the rest house when she stood up but to his surprise, Maeve just walked up to him and positioned herself in between his legs. She also guided his hands to wound up around her waist, and lastly she gently tapped her shoulders.

"Rest here," she said, confusing September.

"Huh?" He was totally lost about this. What was his wife trying to do?

Maeve found her cluelessness adorable and she just wanted to squish her the whole day.

"Geez! You're so adorable!" She blurted out and then she started laughing.

"What are you laughing about?" September asked with his forehead creasing. But Maeve just shook her head and continued laughing as she wiped the tears forming under her eyes.

September's lips protruded in a pout as he watched his wife happily giggling and laughing in front of him. He knew she was laughing at him but he didn't care as long as she's happy. She can make fun of him as much as she wanted.

He rested his jaw on her shoulder. He can feel her whole body vibrating. A smile immediately broke into his lips.

Atleast he gets to make her laugh.

It took Maeve a few more moments to finally get over whatever she was laughing about. And when she did, September's jaw was already resting by her shoulders.

"Wow. It's been long since I've laughed like that." She confessed as she relaxed her back on her husband's chest.

"Glad to be able to make you laugh, even though I'm not sure what you find funny about this, though." A chuckle escaped Maeve's mouth once again. She gently tapped September's head as they both watched the calming hitting of the waves on the shore.

"This is perfect..." September muttered before Maeve felt him kissed her shoulders and hugged her tighter. She snuggled even closer to his chest when a cold wind came assaulting their way.

Using one hand, September took the blanket he had prepared earlier and wrapped it up around the both of them.

"Blankiee!" Maeve squealed like a kid as she saw September wrapping it around themselves.

"You really love blankets," he pointed out, chuckling a but when his wife impatiently grabbed the other end of the blanket to wrapped them up quickly.

"Hmm. It's always warm." She said.

They were quietly staring on the dark ocean and enjoying the cool breeze for a while. No one was speaking. Having each other's arms were already enough to elate both of them.

"September..." Maeve called out after a few moments of silence.

"Hmm?" September responded as he tightened his hold on her.

"You really haven't had any girls before?" She asked curiously.

"Hmm. I didn't."

"Why?"

"What do you mean why?" September asked, confused.

"Why you didn't try it with anyone else? Everyone's allover you. Surely you've seen pretty ladies throw their selves in front of you." September sighed.

"Hmm. That's true." He said with a nod.

"But I was really never interested with anyone. Well, not until you came." He said smoothly making Maeve laugh.

"You sure you haven't dated? You're too smooth for a first timer." She teased.

"Nah. This is my first. I never really thought of having any relationship with anyone. Especially getting married. I mean... I used to think that marriage was absolutely, you know, meaningless. I've grown up in a loveless marriage, an alcoholic and abusive parents. That's all I have known for life." He sighed as he recalled his childhood.

"It doesn't help watching Falcon's marriage failing as well, you know? Everyone around me had wrecked marriage life. So why would I want to be in a relationship and then get married? To just break myself in the process? No thanks."

"But you're here now. Married to me." She pointed out and even let herself turned a bit to look at him.

He chuckled and snuggled closer to her.

"Right. And I never felt so much contentment like this in my whole life." He answered.

Maeve felt warmth surging inside her heart. It wasn't coming from the blanket tightly wrapped around them, but it was from her husband. Her innocent and adorable husband.
