Chapter 25: Chapter 25

Mason was at a lost of words after hearing September's words.

Son-in-laws should be fearing their father-in-laws...right?

So why are theirs reversed?

"I'm your wife's father! Show some respect---"

"Respect is earned, Mr. Smith. The moment you sell off my wife in exchange of your freedom, you lost all those respect that I could give you." September said seriously.

"Where's my daughter? Is she safe?" Mason asked instead, maneuvering the conversation into something else.

"How would I know? I'm not her kidnapper." September answered mockingly.

"Can you just atleast answer properly?!" Mason snapped.

September's expression immediately dimmed with dislike with the way his voice thundered. He stood up and walk towards his father-in-law who was still held by his two men.

"You don't raised your voice on me in my territory, Mr. Smith." Mason Smith staggered a few steps back as September took a step closer to him and leaned a bit over his ears.

"Stop pretending like a good father. The only thing you did right for your daughters was to have them." September leaned back and stood properly in front of his father-in-law, hands on his pocket.

"Leave me and my wife alone. This is our problem. You don't have any right to interfere. Especially when I knew you were never here to check if your daughter is safe but to check if the deal was still on."

"Take this trash away from here." Mason's eyes widened as soon as he heard September's order. But before he can even react, he was already being dragged away.

September's eyes automatically looked up ahead to the staircase where her wife was watching. He beamed at her before he started climbing up the stairs.

"How was the show?" He asked playfully.

"Kinda boring..." Maeve answered and even faked a yawn to prove a point. September chuckled before his hands automatically went around her waist as soon as he got near her.

He pulled her back to their room and lazily dragged her back to bed.

"You don't have work today?" She asked softly as she play with his hair.

"My wife is missing. Of course I'll be too busy with searching for her." He answered with a playful tone.

"Oh, right. So how do you plan on finding her?" She asked, lips curving in an amused smile.

"Easy. Stay on bed the whole day!" He announced like a kid who just found out that his parents are gonna buy him his most wanted toy if he'll behave.

Maeve chuckled with his child-like actions.

"I don't have work either since I was supposed to be 'missing'. So aside from staying in bed the whole day, what should we do?" She asked as September moved to change their position.

Maeve was now lying on top of him as he absentmindedly played her hair with his fingers.

"What do you want to do? Do you have something in mind?" Maeve gently tapped his husband's chest as if thinking.

September beamed upon seeing her comfortable with her position.

"Is there any beach you know of? Been long since I've played with waves," She said after a while.

"You want to surf?" He asked.

"If it's possible but if---"

"Then you can surf."

"September---"

"I know just the perfect place." September said before he pulled her back into his embrace so that they can sleep a bit more.

Maeve closed her eyes as her arms were spread apart as she welcome the strong wind assaulting her way.

"Did you liked it?" She heard September's voice as soon as she felt his arms around her waist.

"This is perfect." She muttered, her eyes still closed as she breath in the cold breeze from the beach.

It was already mid-afternoon so the sun is not scorching anymore. September brought her into a private island. The waves were strong and pretty steady, she can't wait to ride her boards tomorrow!

"Come'n! Let's get inside and prepare for dinner." She said after satisfying herself with the cool breeze and perfectly gorgeous ocean in front of them.

"Hmm..." September responded but delved his head on the nook of her neck as he tightened his embrace.

It just dawned on him.

This is a true honeymoon. Their honeymoon. But of course he won't mention that in case Maeve hated the idea.

Maeve chuckled at his actions and let him do what he wanted. So they walked back to the rest house walking like penguins as her husband refuses to let go of her. She was laughing and giggling non stopped as she felt ticklish everytime September rubbed his face on her neck. The tiny stubbles on his jaw was enough to bring foreign sensations to her.

"September, stop! Let me prepare our dinner!" She said trying to scold him but still end up giggling as September rained her neck and shoulders with some butterfly kisses.

"September!" She called out in an angry voice but again end up laughing.

"Come'n! Stop playing around." She said giggling. September chuckled before giving her cheeks a peck and left her on the kitchen to have her peace.

"Finally..." Maeve said sighing with a smile on her face.

"Wine's best with steak." September said as he lifted the two bottles of red wine to show his wife.

Maeve chuckled and shook her head as she fixed their dinner on the picnic blanket September had set-up.

They were going to have dinner outside, per her request. September had laid down the blanket in a spot where they can freely see and hear the wild waves and feel the cold breeze of the night. September even found a camping light somewhere and that's what they were using.

"Put it here," she said and September immediately heeded her words.

It didn't take long before they were both settled down on the blanket and enjoying their dinner as they talked about random things.

"And then, Hillary cried when she saw my wound bleeding. She said it looked painful. Geez! I didn't know whether I should cry too or just laughed at her." Maeve was smiling and laughing as she told some stories from her childhood.

"You're so fond of your sister." September pointed out with a smile before he took a sip from his wine glass. They already finished the first bottle and they were halfway done with the second one.

"Hmm... She's the only one who cared for me aside from my mom. She was the only one close to being a family." She said as she downed one glass.

"But I'm your family now," Maeve's eyes left the ocean and meets up with September's eyes which were brooding and filled with sincerity.

"I'm your husband and you're my wife. We may have started in a way you'll never liked but we're family." He said as he stared down at his wife who was now staring at him, too.

He smiled at her and was about to take a sip from his wine glass when Maeve stopped him, grabbed the glass filled with wine and downed it without a word.

"Maeve---" and before he can even finish speaking, Maeve grabbed the collar of his shirt and crushed her lips into his.
