Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Returning from their date wasn't supposed to be like this, it wasn't supposed to piss off Dimitri. It wasn't supposed to cause deaths of three rogues or piss Rosalie off to the point Catherine had to take her out on a run so she didn't hurt anybody. It wasn't supposed to consist of a badly injured Xavier.

They had returned from their date to find Xander covered in blood, along with Dimitri's twin. When Dimitri couldn't form the words Rosalie asked, their answers scared her. They were going for a run when about twenty rogues had ambushed them.

Never before has a group of twenty rogues ambushing someone happened. By the time Dimitri's warriors came out Xavier was hanging onto life by a thread, blood soaked the ground around him. Hearing this caused Dimitri to snap and storm down to the dungeons where six of the rogues from the attack were staying.

Rosalie wanted to follow him down there, but she knew he needed to get his anger out. She couldn't feel an ounce of sympathy for those vile mutts. She was never one to condone the torturing of rogues, but this time she didn't care. Her wolf was begging to be let out, to kill those mutts and Catherine saw that. She could see the battle in Rosalie, her eyes continued to switch between black and blue as she struggled to gain control.

Catherine told Xander to mind-link her if Xavier is out of surgery. She didn't want to leave her husband, but she knew at this point she couldn't do anything for him. She also knew he would do the same thing if the roles were reversed, none of them wanted to see what happens when Rosalie loses control.

They all knew that the nicest werewolves had the cruelest wolves when they were angry. By the look of fear that crossed Rosalie's features as she almost lost it confirmed that they were correct.

After the run they returned and Rosalie showered. She then returned a few minutes later to wait for Xavier to come out of surgery.

"I don't understand, we heal fast. How come he didn't heal fast?" Diamond, Xavier and Catherine's daughter, asked.

Catherine smiled softly at her daughter, "If the injuries are severe enough surgery is required and our healing abilities don't do much. Especially when our wolves are too weak."

Diamond nodded quietly and leaned her head onto her mother's shoulders, her eyes showing her tiredness. Rosalie sat quietly beside them, her eyes glazed over with thought.

She jumped slightly when Dimitri suddenly sat beside her, his eyes were darker than usual, but still grey. She grabbed his hand and gave him a comforting squeeze along with an encouraging smile. He smiled back at her, feeling his anger at the rogues slowly evaporate. He suddenly picked her up and brought her onto his lap before hugging her. He nuzzled his face into the side of her neck and breathed in her scent, relaxing his wolf.

"He'll be okay." Rosalie whispered, running her fingers through his hair. "He's strong."

Dimitri looked at her and gently cupped her cheek, "I'm lucky to have you."

When they saw the doctor walk out everyone was on the edge of their seats. Literally. Rosalie wasn't able to get up because of Dimitri's death grip on her. She sighed and scowled at him, earning a confused look from the alpha.

"If you tighten your grip any further you're going to crush my ribs." She grumbled.

He blushed a little before setting her down softly. She chuckled at his rosy cheeks before focusing on the stunned doctor.

"Xavier is-

"He's alive." Dimitri's twin stated from behind the doctor, along with Xander.

"Damn, you had to fix his rib?" Xander questioned.

The doctor sighed and turned around, she placed her hands on her hips and fixed the two men with a glare.

"It's my job to tell everyone about my patient. Now, go over there with your family." She barked.

Dimitri's twin and Xander scowled at her as they slowly walked over to the others. She sighed and smiled, but still glared at the two brothers.

"Pain in the ass men." She grumbled. "So, Xavier is alive but he's very weak from the blood loss. He's awake as well-

"And we're going to see him. Thanks Doc!" Xander grinned as he started walking off.

The doctor sighed and looked at the women, "Felicity, Catherine, could you do me a favor and kill them?"

Felicity chuckled, "I do love Xander, but I'd gladly end the other one."

Dimitri laughed as he dragged Rosalie with him. "I'll keep them in check." He assured her.

The doctor sighed, but still had a grin on her face. When they reached Xavier's room he seemed exhausted as he watched his two brothers.

"I'm losing brain cells from dealing with you two." He sighed as he laid against the pillows.

"Boys, please, give my husband a break. He's had enough for today." Catherine scolded as she hurried over to her husband.

Xavier smiled weakly at her, his eyes lighting up when he saw her. She smiled down at him and bent down, planting a soft kiss on his forehead.

"How are you feeling?" She asked softly, gently running her fingers through his hair.

"Tired." He whispered.

"Then sleep, we'll be here when you wake up."

"I just have to tell Dimitri something, the leader is some guy who claims he knows us. And said he has a man named Sebastian, I don't remember the rest. It was something about hurting him more." He said as he started to fall asleep.

Rosalie gasped, "Sebastian?"

Dimitri looked at her, a hint of jealousy in his eyes. "Who's Sebastian?"

Rosalie swallowed a sob, "Surely they're not talking about my brother." She whispered to herself, ignoring Dimitri.

"Your brother?"

She looked up to see everyone staring at her, she sighed. "My brother, Sebastian Blue, disappeared during a rogue attack. I never saw him after that..."

"They're talking about a Sebastian Blue." Xavier whispered.

Xander swallowed as he looked at his brother, "They said a Sebastian Blue....but none of us know him."

Rosalie ran her hand through her hair as she began to pace the room. "Then they know I'm here. He's my older brother...were none of you listening?" She snapped.

"I was, sweetheart, but I frankly don't care for this Sebastian guy. I'm more concerned about killing the leader." Damon said from beside Xander.

Dimitri growled at his twin, "This Sebastian guy is Rosalie's older brother. You better care."

"And why should I? Do I want the guy to be tortured more? No, but why focus on one guy when we can focus on destroying this leader?"

"How about I tell them why Sebastian was mentioned?" Xander retorted.

"Then do it." Damon yawned. "I still don't see why Dimitri wants to help Rosalie and her brother."

"Why are you suddenly being an ass?" Felicity questioned. "You've never been like this."

Damon smirked, "I'm being the smart one here. The leader wants to make a deal, we hand over the pack for this Sebastian guy. I'm sorry I care more about my twin's pack than some stupid girl's brother."

Rosalie stared at him with tear filled eyes, she clenched her jaw and looked down. "You should just go join them then." She whispered.

Damon raised an eyebrow, "And why is that, princess?"

She didn't answer, she had no idea what to say. He knew he had a point, but she wanted to at least try to save her brother. She was just as confused as the others in the room with Damon's sudden mood swing. She barely knew the guy and she knew this wasn't normal for him.

Dimitri gently pushed Rosalie behind her. "Stop being an ass." He ordered.

Damon rolled his eyes, "Why are you protecting this stupid girl anyway? She said I should join and I was curious as to why she said that. Clearly, she doesn't know either. As for the brother thing, he's not worth the whole pack."

"We could easily meet up with the leader and kill him while taking Sebastian." Xander growled.

"You think the leader would come to give us Sebastian in exchange for the pack?" Damon questioned. "He would send his strongest warriors to come and do it."

"Wouldn't he want to take the pack himself?" Dimitri snapped. "No pack respects an alpha who doesn't show up. We'll act as if we're going to hand over the pack then we'll-

"You're being impulsive. You're doing this for her, why?" Damon demanded.

Dimitri growled at him, "I'm doing this because I fucking love her and I don't like seeing her like this! And damn it, I'll force the leader to come to the exchange and I'll kill him then! Now shut up!"

The room fell silent as everyone stared at the fuming Dimitri in shock. Rosalie slowly walked and stood in front of him, her eyes wide.

Damon smirked as he walked over and patted his brother on the shoulder.

"You're welcome." He grinned before clapping his hands. "Now, let's go and save Rosalie's brother and kill this bastard who calls himself a leader."

Dimitri scowled at his brother, "Really?"

"What? You weren't going to grow the balls anytime soon and I'm a pro at making you snap easily." Damon smirked.

"Asshole." Dimitri grumbled.

Rosalie swallowed, trying to process what had just happened. Dimitri rolled his eyes before gently grabbing Rosalie's wrist.

"Start planning." He ordered his family members before walking out with a still shocked Rosalie.

Dimitri sighed as he stopped and turned around, facing the shy Rosalie. He pursed his lips as he carefully thought over his words.

"You love me?" She suddenly whispered.

Dimitri glanced down at her, "I..." He sighed. "I do."

She bit her lip, "I-I..."

"Relax, I know this is all really fast and I don't want to scare you. For now we can remain friends, then maybe we-

He was cut off by her grabbing his face and crushing her lips against his. He completely froze, unable to think, but he eventually melted into the kiss. Both had their eyes closed, unaware of a smiling twin watching them from the door way.

When they parted Rosalie blushed and took a step back. She looked down, "I'm sorry...I just..."

"It's fine." He replied with a smile.

They both jumped when Damon slowly clapped, amusement sparkled in his eyes. "I ship it." He grinned.

Dimitri rolled his eyes, "Can't I have one nice moment without you? Go away."

"You don't want your older brother around?" Damon asked, feigning hurt.

Rosalie laughed, "Okay, you two, come on. I believe we have some planning to do. Then you two can kill each other."

"Do I get a kiss if I'm more dead than him?" Damon asked, smirking.

Dimitri growled at him and pulled Rosalie to his side. "Mine."

Rosalie scowled at Damon, "Can you not?"

"Classic white girl statement." Damon continued to tease.

"Well, I am part white." Rosalie grumbled as they walked back to the room.

"Part?"

"My mom was black and my dad was white. Got a problem with that?"

"No, you just don't act like a..."

"A white girl? Sweetheart, go back to school. Race doesn't matter when it comes to your personality, how you think, how you act, and your attitude." Rosalie laughed.

Damon frowned, "So, you don't like pumpkin spice stuff from Starbucks?"

"Dimitri.." Rosalie spoke.

Dimitri glanced at her, "Yeah?"

"Your twin is an idiot."

As they entered the room Damon continued to mumble about not being an idiot. Rosalie laughed as Xander started teasing him. They spent hours working out a plan, but the best thing that could work is just kill him the minute one of them were able to get close.

Dimitri had argued with Rosalie that he didn't want her there, but she kept on insisting.

"He's my brother, Dimitri, I'm going." Rosalie stated. "And that's final."

"I would listen to her Dimitri, don't mess with bl-

"You make one more god damn race statement and I'll make sure you're more black and blue than white. Got it?" Rosalie snapped.

Damon pales, "Got it."

"Damn, the kid's whiter now." Xander chuckled.

Rosalie spun around and glared at him, he immediately paled as well.

"Sorry." He mumbled.

Rosalie sighed, "Okay, so, plan is all set. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to take a shower. It has been a long day and night."

As she walked out of the hospital room Damon frowned. He turned towards a grinning Dimitri.

"Can I have your chick?" He asked.

Dimitri had a straight face as he smacked his brother on the back of his head.

"No." He stated before walking out.

Damon pouted, "Why can't I get a girl for once?"

Xander raised an eyebrow, "Well, you suck at flirting, you make race, sex, or blonde jokes every minute, you're a player, you have a mate somewhere, and-

"I got it." Damon snapped.

"Don't forget the biggest reason, he's immature." Catherine stated. "You act like a high schooler."

"Well, sorry that I was forced to grow up too early and I just want to have fun for once." Damon growled.

Xander frowned at him, "Hey, we enjoy your humor, but you need to start acting more mature."

"I know, I know."

"I make jokes like you every once in a while." Xander grinned. "But I don't make them all the time."

"And if he did he would be six feet under right now." Felicity grumbled.

"Damn straight!" Xander said before frowning. "Wait..."

Catherine sighed, "At least Dimitri has a brain unlike you two idiots."
