Chapter 11: Chapter 11

When they returned to the packhouse they made sure it was vacant of Dimitri's pack. He told them he didn't want to deal with any drama, he was beyond tired. Rosalie watched him carefully, noticing the exhaustion in his eyes. She eventually decided to go to her room as Xavier and Xander got the pack settled in.

She had just reached her door when someone tapped her shoulder. She spun around to see Sage and Sara behind her, their eyes showing worry.

"Is it true? Our dad attacked you?" Sage asked.

Rosalie swallowed, "Who told you that?"

"So it is true...I can't believe he actually lost control..." Sara whispered.

"Who told you?" Rosalie asked again.

"Some girl from your old pack." Sage answered.

Rosalie sighed, "Let me guess, Rachel?"

"That would be her."

"I'm gonna kill her. Listen, yes he lost control because Rachel brought up your mother." Rosalie explained. "I didn't exactly react calmly."

Sage frowned, "Oh, well, that explains it. But I'm still shocked that he attacked you."

Rosalie sighed, "We talked about it and he's truly sorry."

"He's going to keep doing this unless he can completely let go of our mother. I just don't know how he can escape the pain of it." Sara sighed in defeat.

"Let go of your mother?" She asked.

Sage nodded, "He still has that connection until he fully mates with someone else. Just like you'll always have a pull towards Cyrus until you fully mate with someone else. Rejection is just the first step."

"So, he still has feelings for your mother."

It wasn't a question, it was a statement that all three knew was true. Rosalie knew that no matter how hard he tried burying his feelings for Christine that they would always be there. Unless someone manages to change that, but she had doubts. Just like she was supposed to still have some feelings for Cyrus that would

make it harder for her to not spend time with him.

"Don't worry, he won't think of her at all in a few weeks. Just give him some time." Sage assured her.

Rosalie frowned, "Why? Are you going to kill her or something?"

"No, something else. We won't do anything, but it's up to you and our father to change both of your ways. You'll understand." Sara said before dragging her sister away.

"Goodnight!" They both called before disappearing into their room.

"Those girls are weird." Her wolf commented.

Rosalie rolled her eyes and walked into her room, closing the door behind her. She released a breath, frowning as she stared at the ground. She knew Dimitri was still not over Christine, even though he was surely falling for her. She couldn't understand what the girls meant about her and Cyrus. She did have that connection to him, but it was weak. She no longer wanted him as a lover, but more as a friend now.

It slightly hurt to know that even if Dimitri did end up telling her that he loved her, she wouldn't be the only one he loved.

"He doesn't love Christine, he's only attracted to her." Her wolf spoke. "He won't stop being attracted to her until he fully mates with someone else. Like us."

She didn't reply to her wolf, instead she blocked her and went to shower. She has had enough drama for one day, her and Dimitri are just friends. Even though they admitted to having a crush on each other that one night, it wasn't true love.

She sighed as she started the water in the bath tub.

"I don't even know what true love is anymore." She thought to herself.

The next morning Rosalie didn't speak or even look at Dimitri. She wasn't angry at him, for she knew how it was not being completely rejected by your mate. But she couldn't handle seeing him, speaking to him, or touching him when she knows he doesn't truly love her. He never will.

Over and over again her wolf told her she needed to give him a chance, that he can love her. However, her fear of being cheated on and the pain from Cyrus cheating on her had her holding back. Even if Cyrus didn't truly cheat on her to hurt her or because she wasn't good enough, she still felt as if she wasn't. She knew she could never be as beautiful as Christine, she's seen those pictures of her while exploring this morning. She had accidentally wondered into what seemed like a storage room and found slightly burned pictures of her. On the back, in beautiful handwriting, was the name "My love, Christine." It didn't take a genius to figure out that Dimitri had written that.

She had stared at the pictures for a while, noticing how happy Dimitri looked in a few of them. The others were just of the Christine, her beautiful blue eyes shined with life and her light brown hair was so beautifully curled. She knew she could never live up to his expectations if he had any.

"Rosalie."

She snapped out of her thoughts and looked up, coming face to face with a pained Dimitri.

"Are you angry with me?" He asked softly.

She clenched her jaw and looked down, "No."

"Then why are you ignoring me? I know what I did yesterday was wrong, I just didn't want to hurt you. I'm sorry."

"Dimitri, it's not that." She stated, her voice holding a hint of jealousy.

He furrowed his eyebrows, "Then what is it?"

She sighed and looked at him, "You still have feelings for her."

He paled and just stared at her for a few seconds, "Yes, I do." He whispered.

"Then why do you keep stringing me along? I don't want to be used, Dimitri. Not by you, not by Cyrus, not by anyone." She replied. "I do like you and I do still have slight feelings for Cyrus, but I'm not letting them hold me back."

"And I am?" He asked, a slightly hard look in his eyes.

She gulped, "I-I don't know."

"Exactly, you don't know. I'm not allowing my feelings for...that worthless mutt to stop me from doing anything. Yes, I get upset when someone mentions her, but she cheated on me. It still hurts."

"Are you forgetting? I was cheated on too."

"But he did it to protect you...not to break your heart, stomp on it, and walk away. Not throw you away like you're trash. She did it on purpose, never once did she love me. At least you know Cyrus had always loved you and did what he did out of love. At least you know it caused him pain to see you hurt and gone. Not once did that bitch ever think about me!" He yelled, his eyes shining with pain.

Rosalie clamped her mouth shut, guilt pulled at her heart as she stared at him. She could see him struggling to stop himself from breaking down. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

"I treated her like a queen, I loved her so much...I was happy for once. It was all a lie though, a lie to gain power. Now she's whoring around with that other man or maybe she has a different one by now. She left me to parent our daughters who didn't understand why their mother hated them so much. Why she could abandon them so easily." He said, his voice cracking. "You didn't go through as much pain."

At that anger poured into her, "I didn't go through as much pain? Did your pack, the one you grew up with, turn their backs on you? Were you constantly called a whore, a bitch, worthless? Were you constantly being slapped, punched, or kicked? Did you get stripped of your title because of a lie? Did your pack blame your parents' death on you? Huh?" She cried, tears falling down her face. "I'm pretty sure our pain is pretty close."

Dimitri's eyes widened, "Rose, I didn't know. I-

She let out a painful laugh, "And perhaps I never told you, would you still act as if you went through worse? I bet you would. This isn't a pity party for either of us, nor is it a competition for who went through the most pain. Stop being selfish, Dimitri. It will only cause your end. Look what happened to my parents because of how selfish they were." She whispered before running out of the kitchen.

He frowned before running after her, firmly grabbing her wrist. She growled at him, her eyes black.

"How am I being selfish?" He snapped.

She rolled her eyes, "You didn't want me near you and did it without explaining the problem to me. You almost did hurt me because you were butt hurt over hearing some bullcrap involving your mate. You won't give us a chance or even try to love another woman because you don't want to let go of Christine. Don't you see? You're doing all of this to stop your own pain and completely ignoring who it might be hurting. Goddess, if you're hurting you tell someone! You don't let you and your loved ones suffer.

What Cyrus had done to me was selfish as well and so was what you did. You both chose to protect me in a wrong way. I can be selfish too, but I try not to. Forgiving my pack is already hard enough, but dealing with not being good enough for you is just the tip of the ice burg!"

He stared at her in complete shock as she fell apart right before his eyes.

"You think you aren't good enough?" He asked softly.

She nodded, "I know I'm not good enough. I don't blame you though, she's gorgeous."

"Oh, she was beautiful alright. Too bad she was ugly in the inside, huge turn off. But damn it, Rosalie, you're far more beautiful than her. Don't you ever compare yourself to garbage again." He stated. "As for you not being good enough..."

Without another word he leaned in and crushed his lips to her's. She froze for a second before going along with the kiss. When they parted they were both panting. He smiled softly and stroked her cheek.

"You're more than good enough for, you're perfect." He whispered before kissing her again.

Rosalie sat quietly in Dimitri's office as he talked on the phone. She was still shocked about the whole him kissing her, but she couldn't deny she loved it. She frowned and tuned into his conversation.

"Yes, I know the rogues are getting stronger. I can't bring in your pack though." Dimitri sighed.

"But Alpha Black, you brought in Blue Eclipse pack." the man on the other end argued.

Dimitri sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, "Yes, I did. They didn't have an alpha so I stepped up. However, the pack was big enough to take up the remaining rooms in my packhouse."

"What about your brothers?"

"You would have to speak to them. Is that all, Alpha Derek?"

"Yes, thank you. Goodbye."

"Bye."

He hung up and ran his hand through his hair, his face showing the stress he was feeling. Rosalie continued to sit quietly, she still had no idea what to even say to him. She could still feel the blush from an hour ago when he had kissed her. He pursed his lips before looking at her.

"You're oddly quiet." He pointed out.

She smiled shyly, "Well, you did just kiss me by surprise."

"Is that a bad thing?"

She laughed and shook her head, "Defiantly not a bad thing. You're actually very good at it."

The second she realized what she said she blushed and looked down. "Sorry." She mumbled.

He chuckled and stood up from his chair, he walked over to her and knelt in front of her. She slowly looked at him, her eyes filled with confusion.

He smiled warmly at her, "I want to get to know you. What you like, what you hate, what upsets you, and so on. I want to know the real Rosalie."

"Well..." She smiled. "For starters, my name is Rosalie Blue. My parents were Alpha Jarred and Luna Ophelia. I used to have an older brother, but during the attack that killed my parents he disappeared. Uh, I love the color

black."

He smirked, "Then you better like

my last name."

"I don't think I do." She teased.

He raised an eyebrow, "Well, Miss Blue, you better."

"Well, Mr. Black, tell me something about you." Rosalie grinned.

"Well, my full name is Dimitri Xander Black, my mom loved the name Xander. A little too much. Let's see, I was raised in a different pack called the Black Sun pack. When my brothers and I got older we split the pack into three and now are alphas. I love the color blue, I hate snakes, and I hate cheaters."

She smiled softly at him, "You know, I don't know the names of

your pack and your brothers' packs."

"My pack is called the Black Crescent pack, Xavier's is Black Rose pack, and Xander's is Black River pack."

"Wow...that's a lot of black."

Dimitri chuckled, "Usually packs include the alpha's last name. Like the pack my mother came from was the Lake pack. Her alpha's last name was Lake."

"I see, explains my pack then."

After talking for a few more minutes they decided on going out for dinner again. Dimitri was beyond excited when she agreed, he loved spending his free time with her. As he showered and got dressed he thought about their relationship.

He had no idea if they were a couple or what, but he liked it. He knew that rushing into this would most likely scare Rosalie and he wasn't exactly ready either. Even though they spent a while talking he still felt as if they should remain friends and really get to know each other. He wanted to know all her secrets and desires, he wanted to know her favorite foods, her opinions about multiple things, and so on. He had a talk with Cyrus and all he told him was that the true Rosalie was rare and beautiful.

"She's already beautiful. Inside and out." He thought to himself.
