Chapter 40: Chapter 40

Sunny

"Sunny, wake up. It's already ten in the morning." I heard Shiela waking me up.

I opened my eyes and looked at her. "What?" I asked.

"Wake up. We will have our breakfast in the stalls." Shiela replied.

I slowly stood up from my bed. I wiped my eyes to see better. "Good morning," I greeted them and the other girls, who were already awake. "Are you waiting for me? Sorry," I said and apologized. "You should have woken me up." I told Shiela.

"It's okay. You slept late watching dramas. No wonder sometimes you are sleepy in the morning." Shiela replied.

"Steven is so addicted to drama. He could watch dramas all night. It feels like he is the one who influenced me to watch dramas in the first place." I shared.

They all laughed at me. "We can see that." Aira said.

"He could watch drama all day without stopping. How could he do that?" I asked them, almost complaining about Steven's talent.

I can do that. I prefer to watch dramas at night and sleep late, but I cannot always do so. I will be a zombie at school.

But him? He can! What a great talent! He told me he watches movies and reads books for fun, making him sleep late. How can he manage that? Past time is supposed to be in the day, and it would not go that far.

"You should fix yourself now. Let's go down altogether." Shiela advised.

I slowly exited my bed and stretched a little before going to the bathroom. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. After that, we went down together and saw all the boys at the cottage where we were staying.

"Did only you guys go down?" Philip asked.

We nodded. "We have been waiting here for ages. Can you all go down so we can eat breakfast already?" Marco asked.

"Maybe they were still preparing themselves. You can just go. We will wait for the others." Aira said.

"We have talked about this already. We will all go together. No one is left behind," Pres commented. "We have to wait for the others." He added.

"You could have just gone down. Tell the other girls to come down." Sam said.

"Why do you have to make yourselves pretty in the morning?" Bentley asked.

"Of course! We have to pamper ourselves in the morning to look presentable." I replied.

"Presentable? We will just eat?" Jericho said, hands on his face.

"You would not tease us if you saw us walking like a dead person or zombie?" I asked them.

"We would!" The boys replied, laughing at us.

I stomp my feet and glare at them. "Then wait for us. That is why we want to pamper ourselves before going out," I told them. "We do not want to hear some insult or tease from guys saying we are ugly!" I complained.

Why are they questioning our time when they will say something wrong if we do not fix ourselves? The debate has begun, and we all express our views or take sides. It never ended when the other girls came down, defending our sides, and the boys kept laughing at us about it.

We headed to the stalls with our debate still going on. Shiela and I let the other girls fight since they would not back down. I do not think that the boys will let us off.

"Okay, let's stop this talk! You can go and have breakfast in the store if you would like, but return here after an hour. In this exact place, we will have our head count after an hour. Go and have your breakfast." Pres said after stopping the debate.

"Yes, Pres." We replied, and we started to divide ourselves.

Shiela and I, with the other girls, headed to a store where you can eat ready-to-eat food. I ordered noodles and some biscuits, together with bottled water.

"I don't get what they were talking about. They want us to be pretty but do not want us to take time?" Aira asked as she ate her noodles.

We laughed at her remarks. "Boys will never understand us because they are not us." Shiela said.

I nodded in agreement. They would never understand us because they are not us. They do not have the same things as us and do not know how much time we need. Only girls could understand each other. That's final.

"Why are you eating that food early in the morning?" Someone asked beside me.

I looked to my side and saw Steven standing.

"No, no. Boys are not allowed here." Shiela commented.

"Boys do not understand the importance of a girl's time." Melissa also said.

Steven shook his head. "I did not join that nonsense talk," He defended himself. "I never said anything a while ago. You did not hear me, right?" He asked.

We shook our heads. Since we last heard from him a while ago, I did not even see him. "I also think that girls need all the time to prepare themselves. I can wait, and I do not want to rush all of you. You can make yourselves presentable like you were fighting for a while ago." He explained.

We clapped at his answer. I immediately tapped the empty seat beside me. "Sit here. Sorry for accusing you." I said my apologies.

"You should be an example of how boys treat girls." Shiela said.

The other girls nodded. "Stop eating that," He suddenly said as he put my food away. "Eat this rather than these noodles." He added, placing the food he had brought in front of me.

He glanced at the other girls and saw what they were eating. He sighed. "Not healthy at all." We all pouted. It feels like our father is nagging us. He sounds like one.

"Eat more. Do not just eat something like that. It is very unhealthy. You have to eat healthy foods to be healthy as well. Eating this would not make you one." He explained.

"We will have a proper breakfast after this." Aira said.

We also nodded. He is right, though. We need to be healthy, and eating healthy foods is a must.

"Are you still sleepy?" He asked.

I nodded back. "Can we take a break for a day? I do not think I can watch it later." I told him.

He smiled and nodded. "If you can't do it, you just have to tell me." He reminded.

"You are eager to finish it. I can't tell you that. Maybe you can watch it alone. I will be just following you behind." I told him.

He shook his head. "No. We will finish it together. It is not fun to watch it alone either." He replied.

After finishing our food, we headed to a restaurant to eat a proper breakfast like we promised Steven. He went back with the boys and played games with them while waiting. An hour had passed, so we went back to our meeting place. After the headcount and ensuring we were all here, we returned to the cottage to rest.

"Let's just play while sitting." Vice said.

We all agreed and thought of games we could play. We played different games while sitting. There are tons of questions and answer portions. There are also some truths or dares. With all the playing, we spent an hour with them before going to the pool to enjoy the last hours. We will go home after a few hours.

My family is also preparing for dinner with Steven's family later. I heard that my grandmother was already excited after hearing the news. Mom also said that Grandma would prepare her best dishes. I glanced at Steven to see if he would jump into the pool, but he was standing and holding his stomach.

Is he in pain?

I went to see him. "You are not going to the pool at least once?" I asked him.

He shook his head. "No. I do not want to." He replied.

I pointed to his side stomach, which he had touched for a while. "Why do you keep on touching that place? Are you in pain?" I asked him again.

"No, I am fine." He replied.

"Do you have any wounds you could not get rid of and keep yourself from?" I asked him once again. "You can tell me. You know that, right?"

He nodded. "I do. It is just that it is not for you to know about my problem. It's not the right time for it." He explained.

"I understand. You can tell me anytime. I am not rushing you to tell me those things. I am just worried about your condition and all." I told him.

He tapped my head and messed with my hair a little. "Do not be worried. I will be fine. Worry about yourself more." He said.

"Are you sure that you are okay?" I asked for the last time.

He smiled, indicating that he was really fine. "I am. Go and enjoy the pool." He said.

I nodded at him before jumping into the pool. Although I am not good, I can still swim a little, and it is not that deep. We had music playing, and it was like we were partying in the pool.

After that, we left the pool and started cleaning our mess. We checked the pool and our cottage. They are clean and tidy. We returned to the big comfort room to take a bath before returning to our room to change.

We fixed and cleaned our place. We do not want to make the staff clean our rooms since the owner and Gino's family let us stay here for free. As our payment, we did not cause any trouble and made our place clean as we went.

"Ahh, guys. Auntie and Uncle said that they would use our photo on their website if they could take a photo of us at their main attraction before going home. If you find it uncomfortable, you can just say no." He said.

"We will do it. To show them our gratitude for letting us stay here." Vice replied.

We all nodded and let their staff take some photos of us. We showed how much we love the resort and took many good pictures of the attractions. Our bus came after a few minutes.

"Thank you very much!"

"We enjoyed it here!"

"We will recommend this resort to our friends and family!"

"We will be back here soon!"

"After graduation!"

We all promised before getting on our bus. When I got onto the bus, Shiela was sitting next to Beverly already. She stated that she would sit next to me a while ago.

"I hate you." I told her before taking a seat behind them. I waited for someone to sit next to me, but nobody did. When I saw Steven get on the bus, I waved at him and asked him to sit beside me, which he gladly did. "Shiela dumped me." I told him before he could sit.

"I can hear you." Shiela commented.

"I made sure to let you hear it." I replied.

"Calm down, guys. It's just me." Beverly said, laughing as if we were fighting over her.

We laughed as the bus started to go. I enjoyed our trip. I want to go back here next time.

"You should rest. We will have our dinner later." Steven reminded me.

I nodded. "I know. My family kept on telling me that they were excited. Grandma said she would cook her best dishes. Make sure to eat as many as you can." I told him.

"You do not have to tell me about it. We would do that," He replied. "Will you be okay later?" He asked back.

"Of course! I am excited to see—"

"Oh yeah, Mavin, of course." He interrupted.

"I mean, I am excited to see your parents. Can we drop the topic about me crushing on your older brother?" I asked him.

He shook his head. "No way." He replied.

Why did I even say that in the first place? And now, Steven is showing me that my taste is horrible. In the first place, it is my own opinion and taste. Why do I have to suffer from this?

Can I like people I want to?

I can, right?
