Chapter 30: Chapter 30

After hearing Kira talk about Lukas not leaving my side it caused a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach. Was he really concerned for me or the baby? But it did not matter because he stayed by my side and did not even take credit for it. Earlier when I thought about attending the party it was just to keep this word but after hearing what he did I was excited to see him.

It was difficult to decide on one outfit so I just went with my gut and picked A-line V neck, lace white dress with peach stilettos. My hair was curled at the edges and I let Kira do my make up.

For the first time in a while, I felt truly pretty.

"Thanks, Kira. I'll see you downstairs" I patted at her arm.

The party was in the living hall but on the other end of the wing. Apparently, the wing I was currently staying was Lukas family section. He only entertained parties on the other side so that nothing would be tainted or touched in his family section. Again it made me feel butterflies in my stomach at the thought. Why was I feeling in that way?

Shaking my head I pressed the button of the elevator. I really wasn't expecting anything about the party. But as soon as the doors of the elevator opened my mouth parted in shock. The entire living hall was lit up like a club. Anyone who did not see it before would be pulled into thinking that its a dancing club.

I squinted at the bright lights of the disco ball everywhere. People were dancing around me, their bodies pressed together. There was a jacuzzi in the corner with people inside. How many people did Yama invite? I thought. Are they all demons?

My smile widened when I noticed Leo waving at me from the bar. He was sitting all alone. I rushed towards him, my shoulder accidentally brushing into someone on the way.

I flinched at the harsh blow and stepped back, "I'm so-"

"Humans... Pathetic" The girl snarled as she huffed. My words died in my mouth as I raised my head to look at the person. I couldn't stop staring at the way she held herself with so much grace. My eyes were stuck on her face but she did not even glance at me and walked away.

What was that about? I thought shaking my head.

"Leo! Hi," I gave him a side hug. The glass in his hand wavered so he kept it on the counter before wrapping his arm around me. He laughed, patting at my back and pulled a stool for me.

"Thanks my kind sir" I giggled, adjusting myself. My feet ached from walking in heels. How did that girl walk so gracefully?

"Always a pleasure milady"

He slipped in the seat beside me and pulled his glass back. I looked over his shoulder, trying to find that women.

"Who are you searching for?"

I jerked at his question and roamed my eyes around. I spotted her near the dance floor.

"That one... Do you know who she is?"

Leo turned his head around to follow the line of my vision. He shuddered, shaking his head and took a gulp of his drink.

"That's the princess of Diyu, Li Changying."

I blinked my eyes several times trying to understand his words. The only thing I got from that was she is a Princess and her name.

"Princess of what?"

Leo gulped, "Princess of Chinese Hell"

My eyes widened. I accidentally crashed into the Princess of Chinese Hell? What has my life become? I thought.

I turned back to stare at her only to noticed Lukas. My breath hitched in my throat. He looked charming in his red velvet suit and bowtie. I parted my lips when I noticed that he had his hair slicked back, few strands escaping his gelled hair. My legs pressed together as I felt the pull in my abdomen. Why did he have to look like that? It is the hormones talking! I convinced myself.

I narrowed my eyes when I noticed Li Changying make a move towards him. She wrapped her arms loosely around his neck, pulling him close. My nose flared staring at them. Is something going on between them? Did Lukas lie to me on that night? He said he was with no one. I gritted my teeth together, my fingers fisting the material of my dress. How could he lie to me?!

As if Leo sensed the anger in me he touched my arm. I glared back at him.

"Whoa calm down!"

"I can't. How would you like to me about being single and do something like this behind my back?"

Leo shook his head, "He did not lie. They are not in a relationship even though Li Changying wants them to be. It's complicated"

With a huff, I turned my head towards Leo, "Tell me I want to know"

"Okay but you did not hear this from me"

"Yeah yeah"

He took a deep breath, his hands clasped together on the counter, "A few decades ago we went to the Chinese Ball. That's when we met Li Changying. Their place was attacked by some army's who wanted to take over but Lukas managed to fight them off and come to a proper solution. She was so impressed by that she proposed to him. Her father decided if they get married he would merge the realms, as in make Lukas the King of both Hells and let his daughter be the Queen. Lukas declined that offer and we never went back there"

My eyes widened and I took a peek at them. Now that I noticed again Lukas seemed stiff and hesitant like you would be anywhere than stand in front of her.

"And she is hurt by that?"'

Leo snorted, "More like obsessed. She was so impressed by his bravery that she still keeps trying. Her brother is going to take over soon so she is desperate even more than before. With her brother taking the throne she would not have a chance to reign over Hell that's why she keeps on showing up to places Lukas would be"

"She's stalking him?" I gasped, my hand tightening around the material. How could anyone do such a thing? She could find someone else, right? Stupid Princess going after my-

No what the fuck am I thinking? I shook my head. My face went red just at the thoughts going in my mind. How did I suddenly become so possessive about him? It was not like we are dating. But he was going to be the father of my child so maybe that's why.

Leo grimaced, refilling taking another shot glass, "Yeah you could say that"

"Why doesn't he do anything about it?"

"I think he doesn't want to embarrass her in front of everyone so he keeps quiet. She only does these in things in public."

I huffed, shaking my head. There were too many thoughts going in my head and I was not ready to focus on them. I need to drink something.

"Excuse me?" I called out the bartender. He pretended not to hear but when Leo cleared his throat he stood in front of me with a charming smile on his face.

"What can I get you, madam?"

I faltered at his words. It sort of felt like a deja vu situation only Lukas was missing.

"Orange juice" I jolted at Lukas voice. He slipped in beside me, his face tight. How did he escape from that demon women?

"Are you sure madam?"

Lukas narrowed his eyes at the bartender, "Did you not hear me the first time? Go get her an orange juice"

"S-sure sir" The bartender cowered towards the other side.

I turned my head towards Lukas, "What do you think you are doing?"

He met my eyes, they were pitch black. What did that mean? Why do his eyes keep on changing? He leaned closer and I felt the hair on my neck stand up. I inhaled sharply. What was he doing?

"What are you doing? Did you forget that you are pregnant and you cannot drink?"

My cheeks blazed at that. It completely slipped my mind that I could not consume any alcoholic beverage while being pregnant. My head ducked down, unable to meet his eyes. How could I forget something so simple? He must be thinking that I would be a terrible mother.

"It's okay. You probably have a lot on your mind right now"

My head raised in surprise. Huh? Since when did he become so mature? I hummed instead of answering.

Just then I heard the clinking sound of footsteps from behind me. It was Li Changying. She stood beside Lukas, her delicate hand on his shoulder as she leaned closer to his ear.

"Do I have a competition, Wǒ de ài (my love)?"
