Chapter 28: Chapter 28
/Lukas POV/
I couldn't stop staring at her, lying still on the bed. She was going to die if she did not get help soon. My eyes were red, tears forming in them. It was the first time that I was feeling immense sadness inside me. There was no way I could afford to lose her. Not again.
Leo patted at my arm, trying to reassure me but nothing would work unless I saw her sit up. The fairies were on the way because they were the only person who knew about Nephilim birth. No one I knew was able to help me.
Fang was tied up in chains so that he could calm down. His reaction was still unexpected. The reason I picked him was because of his brutality but I never thought it would make me regret. Fang never acted in that way before, it felt like someone was controlling him. My right arm was broken because of the way he pounced on me. That was not my major concern.
My hands were still drenched in blood from holding her limp body. I couldn't stop staring at them for the first few minutes, imagining the worst thing possible. It felt like I was rooted on the floor, crying for help when Leo found me. They alerted the fairies and asked them to visit the mansion.
Leo tried to distract me but it was not working. Nothing seemed to be working. I couldn't stop thinking about her last words as she closed her eyes. I knew that she was still alive but her breathing slowed down from the last few minutes.
Yama was stalling the demons so that no one would enter the room. Everyone was interested in what was happening to my mate.
"Where are they?" I gritted my teeth, staring at the door. Usually, they show up on time without having to use any portal. What was taking them so long?
Leo softly sighed, "You need to calm down Lukas. They will be here soon"
Dean was already searching for them in their dimension. There was no update from his side which was worrying. Where could they be?
"Calm down?!" I screeched, my eyes narrowing at Leo. He did not even flinch.
"My mate is going to die Leo. How the fuck do I calm down? I am unable to do anything but sit here, helplessly." I rubbed my face, breathing harshly as I stared at her. Her body was paler than before which made me look away.
Before Leo could say anything there was a bright glow in the room. I squinted my eyes, as the circle formed around the room and the fairies fluttered their wings. A sigh of relief escaped my lips. Finally!
"What took you so long?" I growled, inching towards them.
Sia rolled her eyes, walking towards Talia, "We had to find something to make the bleeding stop."
"We are not healers my lord" Gia mumbled, as she pulled a pouch from her bag. I sighed, pushing myself back against the couch. Even though they said that several times I always forget that they are the Fate and not some kind of healers.
Finding healers is always difficult because they are scared to work for a demon. They are rare and always in the presence of godly creatures. Most of them are in faraway land which is difficult to get through for demonic creatures like me. No one tried to do that before that's why we don't have any healers in Hell. At most people, I pulled the souls of doctors from Hell and asked them for treatment.
Mia hummed, "It's about time you get one healer, my King. You are mate will need help while giving birth"
I sighed, nodding my head. As it was a necessity I had to find a way to get a healer. Convince him or her to stay until the birth of my child.
"Will she be okay?"
Sia applied some kind of green lotion on Talia's stomach, mumbling something under her breath. I sat on the couch, staring at my mate. Gia was rubbing her feet with the same green lotion.
"This is very powerful medicine we got from the Dryads"
Leo narrowed his eyes, "From what?"
Mia giggled, shaking her head, "Dryads are wood nymphs. They have knowledge about every herb and wood in the forest"
"You went to Olympus?" I question, my mouth parted in surprise. The entire mountain was sacred and only for Greek gods. No one was allowed there unless it was an official business or the Ball hosted by them. They don't entertain guests because Hera made a strict policy about it. Just because her husband can't keep it in his pants everyone else has to suffer the rules.
Gia nodded her head, "When we saw the light of Miss Talia getting dim we knew that something was going to happen"
I opened and closed my mouth. And here I was cursing them and blaming them for not arriving on time while they were trying to find a way to save my mate.
"Thank you..." I breathed as I noticed Talia shift in her sleep. The blood on her stomach was healed, like magically disappeared. No wonder other demons tried to get inside Olympus. Their remedies were always successful.
Sia stared at me for a few seconds like she couldn't believe that I was thanking her. Most of the times I despised them for being them but they were helpful and saved my mate.
"It's our pleasure" Gia mumbled as she put the pouch on the nightstand.
"She was bleeding because of the injury to her stomach. Don't worry she is completely alright now. Just make sure to apply this lotion after every two hours. It will help her regain consciousness" Gia pointed at the pouch resting on the nightstand.
Leo raised his eyebrows, "Do you know the reason she was attacked?"
Gia looked hesitant to answer but when I nodded my head at her she shrugged.
"We are not sure about it but as we said earlier no one wants a Nephilim to be born. At least not from these both"
I stared at Talia. She looked so innocent and pure in her sleep that it made me regret having to pull her into this mess. Why does it have to be her? She was happy on earth with her friends and I destroyed it. No wonder she resented me for taking everything away from her.
"What does that mean?" Leo frowned and Gia went on to explain him in detail. It was everything I saw in the pool so I did not pay any attention to whatever she was saying.
Yama entered the room after a few minutes. I noticed that he was wearing something casual which was shocking. The fairies greeted him with a smile on their faces. Of course, they all knew each other. It was nothing new.
"Yama, my lord how have you been?" The three of them asked in unison.
He shrugged, "I am good. Did you pay a visit to my naraak?"
"Yes sir. We were there early in the morning and everything is running smoothly. You do not have to worry about anything" Mia smiled.
I scrunched my nose at that. Why would they check on naraak for Yama? Their relation seemed to be a lot close than I anticipated. Maybe that's why he knew everything about Talia and me. The fairies might have snitched.
"Will his missus be okay?" Yama asked with a forlorn expression on his face.
"Of course! We have treated her with herbs from Olympus"
"Then there's no need to worry"
Yama cleared his throat, "Are you three staying?"
The three of them turned to look at me. As if I did not have enough things to worry about they decided to add. But then again they helped me and it would be less stressful if they were around for a while. Atleast they can look after Talia.
"Please I insist. The rooms are always available for you three"
Mia giggled, "That's very generous of you, my King."
"Okay then I'll see you for dinner" Yama exited the room and Mia followed him go ask about something. Leo was sat by my side, still confused about the entire thing.
"It's not your fault" Sia mumbled staring at me. My eyes widened at the look on her face. I thought she was only able to read my thoughts when I was in her place.
"I wish I could believe that"
"You have to my King," Gia said while Leo nodded his head, agreeing with her.
Sia sat on the bed in front of me, "My King this was the decision of the destiny for you two to meet again. There was no way you both could have not anticipated or avoided it. You are meant to be together"
I stared at Talia, her chest rising and falling, "Then why don't I feel like that?"
