Just as we were discussing and strategizing on what our next plan would be, we heard a creak noise and Scott hurriedly buzzed out to find out who was hiding behind the door.

Elijah ! What are you doing here? Scott asked, his eyes red with danger.

I’m here to apologize, I want you to know the truth Scott. Elena is innocent. Scott eyed him emphatically.

I know you are nothing but a liar and a bully, you think I’ll actually believe you over Elena ?

You must be sick. Scott shot back.

But there was something different about Elijah and I could feel it, he was sober , a bit quiet on the inside , like something was going on in his head.

But Scott continued , you and your dearly beloved mother are psychos.

I noticed Elijah cringe at the sound of his mother, Scott stop it , I said snapping at him. Are you okay , Elijah ? You seem shaken. Is there any problem?

Scott kept on with his rants. Elena, please don’t fall for his bullshit anymore, we both know he is pretending to be sorry. You know he isn’t sorry and there’s totally nothing wrong with him.

I eyed Scott with a dont you dare eyes, Elijah was already in tears . Kevin came up to him.

Hey… Are you okay and Elijah shook his head.

We all sat down , what’s the matter? I didn’t want to do any of that, I was compelled to do them. My mother;Luna Sandra, said she was going to tell the colony what I had done to my brother.

She was going to frame me up if I didn’t get Elena out of the way. It was written in the stars that Elena was going to save the kingdom from the hands of a tyrant , unless she is being eliminated.

Me? I scoffed.

He looked up at me , his eyes as white as snow, Elena she brought you here to be closer to her enemy. She wants to kill you.

Brother Scott, I’m really sorry about everything that has happened. Most times I didn’t want to treat you in that way but a strong force beyond my control kept urging me to do them.

She has given me the mandate to kill you or she’s going to kill me, I doubt that is my mother. I feel like she’s being hypnotized or possessed by some ultimate strong force and I don’t know what to do.

She’s strong and a mind controller , above all , I swear I’ve seen her do magic.

We were all in shock and Elijah revealed all of this to us , he brought out a silver dagger.

This dagger is forced specially for Elena , in her hands it’ll be very powerful but in the hands of another, it’ll be disastrous but here’s the trick, only a small cut from this dagger can kill you , Elena.

I gasped and shifted far away from the dagger, it was shiny and beautiful, but I didn’t want to be controlled by it. Elijah had mentioned that if my heart wasn’t pure and firm enough in my hands it could possess me for evil.

Scott stood up pacing back and forth , if all she wants is Elena. Why has she been on my neck? Why the constant degeneration, humiliation and pain from her? What did I ever do to that witch?

I’m sorry , Elijah . But we both know , the term suits her perfectly, but Elijah didn’t say anything to Scott.

Scott, your mother possess some kind of mystical power, she suspects that she may have passed it down to you from birth or through one way or the other.

It was foretold that you and Elena together, that will be an unstoppable force and when Luna Sandra realized that it seems you both were getting fond of each other , she sent me to step in.

It was obvious Elena still has a crush on me , we tried to use that as an added advantage to us but it ended in futility.

Scott and Elena shot daggers at him with their eyes.

I still don’t trust you Elijah, but if you as much lay a finger on Kevin, I’ll put you six feet under with my bare hands.

Let’s keep fighting at every instance when she’s close by, everyone should always be in formation and on guard.

Elena, you are in charge of getting close to Alpha Damien. Keep a close eye on him , be with him and find the perfect time to ask questions about my mother .

We should garner all the information that we need, she may be able to help us , if she’s truly alive.

I’ll be in charge of overseeing that the teas prepared by the cooks go directly to my father without landing in the witches nest.

Kevin, you know a lot about trees and herbs , how about you tell me all you need to prepare a cleansing portion to aid my father in recover .

We meet every two nights at Elijah’s chamber. I’ll need to steal a cup of the tea Luna Sandra will give to my father, we need to examine the content in order to create a cute.

It’s late , everyone must retire to their duty post, Elijah do not forget to ask for the assigning of Kevin to your chamber.

Kevin sneaked out of the room first and then followed by Elijah .

What a night? Who would have thought we’ll be having some alibis. So where did we stop? Are we getting back into it or we’ll pass.

Scott answered and said, I’ll just love us to cuddle in and maybe sleep off.

I was stunned , but it was the perfect idea .although I was no longer scared of anyone watching me or anything , since we’ve got that all cleared out . LW , oh I never thought of that , the inscription meant Locke wood .

Oh dear, silly me . How did I not think of that. We talked for a while about everything. Scott was really worried about the fact that his mother could still be alive.

He kept on with the questions; why didn’t she look for me ? Does she think I’m a disgrace? What must she think of me now? Is she doing okay?

I tried my best to comfort him. Scott, you are perfect . Stop worrying so much about everything. If anyone doesn’t want you in their lives , then it’s their loss because you are a great person, humble and sweet. I gave him a peck on his forehead.

As we raced down , we found something . It was a group of people covered in long black robes. They were incantating. There laid two children bound to the ground .

Are they about to use those children for a kind of ritual? What the hell is this ?

The children looked helpless, but it seems like their parents had given them up for the sacrifice of the ritual.

There was applause to the parents who carried their shoulders high up in the sky, this people were sick .

What do we do , Elena ?

She kept mute and didn’t say a word, we were still hiding between the trees.

It’s time , These lives belongs not to us but unto you, o great One , accept our offerings and drink off their blood as a sweet wine……. The man continued mumbling something.

I was numb and couldn’t move my feet, we were obviously outnumbered , going after them wasn’t a good idea. Who knew what kind of humans these were?

They didn’t seem to be a part of our colony or any territory around , what then are they doing here.

The man lifted up the knife in the air as he continued mumbling the chants, I couldn’t watch anymore, my heart was beating fast .

Elena read my mind, we are going in , aren’t we? Yes, I answered.

We both transformed with a roar, something unsettling happened . The moment I approached them, they bowed to me and starting singing praises to me, they danced around me .

I didn’t understand anything that was going on at that instant but I ordered them to release the children.

They obeyed. Hand them over to their parents , I noticed the children’s refusal to follow the said man who was thought to be their father.

I walked up to them , he’s not your father ?

No, he’s not. Do you know where your parents are then?

Yes , they replied. Okay .

I ordered them to stay kneeling on the floor with their heads bowed. I and Elena took the kids to their parents who tied up , waiting for the wild beast to come and tear them apart.

I looked at Elena . She smiled back at me .

We can go home now , Scott.

They are safe now .

Yes , I’ll race you back to the Mansion .

Oh no! You won’t , I was already running and she followed.
