Chapter 36: Chapter 36

Olivia's pov:

I became worried for my safety! It felt as if every day was something new. A new problem after the other. I was about to have a panic attack.

I was sitting next to the driver and when I looked at him, I expected the person who shoved me into his car to be some sort of robber, but I was shocked but not too shocked to see Sam again behind the wheel. It was unbelievable! This guy could not leave me a day in peace, could he?

Seriously what was up with this guy?

"Is this some sort of joke?" I yelled.

Sam's expressions were very strange to me. He didn't respond but he had an angry but sad expression painted all over his face.

"Hello? Sam?! I am speaking to you!" I yelled at him, feeling frustrated.

Still, he did not bother to answer me at all and just kept on driving ahead.

Like I had said before, Sam felt like the world's most impossible puzzle to solve.

I could spend my entire life trying to understand him.

When he kept silence, I said, "I'm out of here" before opening up the car door to leave.

But Sam leaned up against me and pulled the door shut before locking it.

"Let me drive you to the entrance at least. You won't have to be in the car with me for any longer" he said.

Wait! Did he want to save me the trouble of walking all the way to the building? I was so confused!

He started the car and drove towards the entrance. I did not say anything to him even though I wanted to thank him.

I remembered that this was the same guy who did not care about my life the previous day.

Now with this gesture of his, my promise of staying away from him faded and my curiosity for answers awoke within me. Ugh, Sam would always like to change his behavior like a light switch!

What he says and what he does do not line up whatsoever sometimes but deep down I knew that he would not want to harm me. That would be too extreme, even for him!

But why did he leave me to almost die? Is there something that I was missing? I kept starring at Sam through the front mirror, trying to make sense out of his actions.

After the car halted at the entrance, I took off my seat as Sam unlocked the doors! He refused to turn his face at the back and just kept on looking forward, silently.

As my feet touched the ground and I was at the entrance, Sam drove off to find a parking spot.

As I looked at his face minimizing as the car was far away, I felt very emotional.

The memories of Sam and me flooded my mind and it made me feel suffocated. There has to be a way to end this madness, I grunted!

I grabbed my bag and ran across the booths after entering the building.

Luckily not many people were present in the area to see me run like a mess.

I opened a blue metal door at the back of the building and found myself entering a dark room filled with computers and CPUs.

I learnt that I was in the technical room of the building.

I caught my breath as the room's atmosphere was filled with beeping sounds from the computer.

There was a packet of tissues in my bag. I pulled out a sheet out of the packet and blew my stuffy nose.

I pulled another sheet to dry out my teary eyes before they dripped down my face, ruining my makeup.

Turning my body around to open the door to exit the room that I probably wasn't allowed into, I heard distant footsteps approaching the room.

Not wanting to land into trouble with the staff and humiliating myself in front of everyone especially my fans, I quickly ducked and hid underneath a table behind a few empty computer boxes.

I was able to see the door through a hole in one of the boxes.

Just then I heard the door handle creek open and two figures entering the room, mumbling something.

I placed my hands onto my mouth, preventing me from making any noise, even a gasp!

I was afraid to be exposed and thought to spend some time under the table until the coast was clear!

As I was sitting still with my hands still covering my mouth, one of the persons placed their hand on one of the boxes and I was shocked to see something so familiar.

I squinted through the hole to try and get a good look at the object that intrigued me and all of a sudden, my jaw dropped!

That object was none other than the murderer's ring!

I blinked rapidly to try and get a clearer view of the ring to ensure I wasn't hallucinating but I was able to confirm that was the same exact ring.

I wanted to cut the hole of the box so that I could take a good look at the person's face, but I was unable to do so.

Since the box was empty, even the slightest touch would collapse the entire stack of boxes.

I tried to listen to their conversation but that was also a failure as they were talking under their breath.

Soon, they opened the door and left the area!

I got up from my spot, and carefully wiggled myself out of there before leaving the room slowly.

As soon as I stepped out of the room, I was greeted by the empty hallway!

"Dammit I lost them!" I exclaimed to myself while slamming my foot onto the ground.

I ran towards the booth area to try and see if I could catch those people but suddenly, I felt my hand being gripped by another and I was halted at my spot.

Who did that?
