Chapter 23: Chapter 23
Olivia's pov:
I woke up to find myself on the stone-cold floor of my room. I slowly picked myself up and felt a sharp pain in my head.
I massaged my head with my fingers and ears walked towards the bathroom to splash some water on my face to clear my face up.
I took a good look of myself in the mirror and I found that I was a mess. From frizzy hair to dark circles under my eyes, I was in desperate need of a shower and a makeover.
I walked into the hot shower, lathered on some shampoo and soap and stepped out of the shower, feeling nice and refreshed.
Once I reached the living room, I grabbed my phone and was shocked to find that I had gotten 10 missed calls from Nikita over the last 2 hours. It seemed as if she had something very urgent that she wanted to talk about.
Wait, where was I? Why did I not pick up any of her calls? I usually never miss any phone call. That was very unusual of me!
The last thing I remember was escaping Jack's room when Sam had come there. I escaped successfully so then what happened? I started to stress my brain to try and remember what happened after I entered the room!
Oh no. Did I pass out? Is that why I was laying on the floor? Ugh, I hated when that happens! I really should do something to get rid of all this stress. This would do me worse than good!
First things first was to call Nikita and see what she had to say. I was a bit nervous to call her back as I knew what her temper was! She is a great person but really needs some anger management sessions. But I knew this time since it was my fault, I should not complain if she would yell at me.
I dialed her up and she picked up after a few rings and informed me that I had to get ready in 30 minutes to leave for the sightseeing session for today. She sounded quite pissed at me, rightfully so this time! I have been keeping her waiting for a long time.
I dropped my phone onto the bed and dashed to get myself ready. I really had to hurry up this time and not take my own sweet time like usual.
I dropped the suitcase that was near my cupboard, onto the floor and started digging out whatever clothes that I could find. I made a whole mess in the process.
I untied my robe and slipped on some jeans and a shirt. I did not bother if it matched at that point.
I then, grabbed my phone, sunglasses and purse and stormed out of the room after locking it. I was not in the mood for someone to break in.
With ten minutes to spare, I reached the lobby where everyone had assembled and were waiting for the tour bus to arrive.
I went ahead to find Nikita, feeling bad that I made her wait for so long. However, the level of awkwardness increased through the roof once I saw Sam, Jack and Jessica sitting on a couch in the lobby. My face turned pale and I quickly tried to hide myself from them.
I held the straps of my bag tightly and quietly sat in a nearby chair against a raised pillar.
I constantly looked at Jack, remembering of how well he took care of me and my injury. But why did he do that? Was he aware of Sam and Jessica's actions towards me? I had no answers to these questions which frustrated me a lot.
Jack was the only person out of the three who cared for me. I had to know how he felt about me. I was desperate for an answer.
Suddenly, the screeching of rubber tires filled the lobby's atmosphere and all of us saw that the bus had arrived.
I sat next to Nikita, keeping my distance away from the trio. At any cost, I knew I had to figure out the truth as something about this whole situation doesn't make any sense. There was definitely something big in the picture. But what?
While taking some pictures of the beautiful scenery along the way, I was navigating through my photos and came across the blood ridden ring.
Two mysteries remained unsolved. I had to crack them! I just had to! I would never be at peace until I solved them completely! But I was stuck at a dead end. I had to stop slacking and start investigating.
The only problem was to find a starting point. Finding the murderer was the huge task and that was pretty dangerous. I did not know what waters I would be crossing.
After touring the famous Opera house, Harbour bridge and a few beaches, we stopped at a nearby restaurant while driving back to the resort towards the evening. As everyone were starving!
I must admit, I did have fun the whole day but the unsolved mysterious played back again and again like a broken record the whole time, causing me a lot of inconvenience. I was not able to enjoy the beauties of Australia.
Anyways, at the restaurant, I filled my stomach to the brim with a lot of local cuisine. Everything was so delicious that I licked the plates clean! I felt quite satisfied with my decisions except for one.
Drinking three glasses of soda was definitely not the smartest decision to make. I had to urgently visit the washroom.
I left my bag and phone on my table and rushed to utilize the bathroom as everyone started boarding the bus to return to the resort.
After finishing my business, I was washing my hands when suddenly I heard a click noise where the door of the bathroom was located. I got a bit weirded out at first.
But then I played it out to be the wind or something! But I became super frightened when I went to open the door and found out that it would not open.
I became anxious and tried to pull it as hard as I could, but it did not budge a bit!
I started to panic when I realized that I was locked in from the outside. I grew even more concerned once I realised that my phone and bag were left on the table. I was stuck with no contact with anyone on the outside!
I started banging the door with my hands and yelled in attempt of getting someone to help me escape! I was hoping that a person would pass by the area!
I grew anxious, my heart was beating quickly, I really did not need this. How much more did I have to bear? I already had enough to deal with in my life!
Bang after bang, I grew tired, my hands were sore, but no one came by to help. Tears rolled down my cheeks and I was not able to breathe in the tiny space of the bathroom. I felt defeated!
Suddenly I realized that I were to be stuck in there forever, then I would not bring justice to my family! I grew stronger and decided not to give into defeat!
I did not give up, I had to get out of here. After numerous attempts, I finally heard the door lock click.
However, the relief on my face faded when my eyes glanced at Sam on the opposite side of the door! I was so shocked and scared! I froze at my spot!
Erica's pov:
"You did it? That's great!" I said before hanging up on the phone call.
"You sure are happy!" Michael exclaimed while playing a racing game on his phone.
"Of course, I'm happy! Nikita initiated the plan and locked that brat Olivia and she'll never find her way back here to the resort!" I replied while combing my hair in front of the large mirror in the room.
Michael kept on playing his game and I could not care less. I was so happy that Olivia was finally getting the pain she deserved.
Thankfully, the guy who shot that inspector in India, told me that Olivia had seen Michael's ring and was investigating it. I needed to distract Olivia from that and trap her so she would not be able to figure out anything.
And I was also able to stop the inspector from his investigation! Ah! Everything was going according to plan!
That restaurant was in a remote area and Olivia would never find her way out of there, I will make sure of that.
