Chapter 22: Chapter 22

Jack's pov:

I turned around to see if Olivia had escaped or not. I was nervous that she was still hiding in the balcony.

I was greeted by the emptiness of the room with the door which I had previously left wide open, closed shut.

All these things combined, confirmed that Olivia had made her way out. I sighed in relief. I was finally relaxed now that she left. If she were to get caught, I would not want to know what would happen to the both of us.

Right then I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Ruby scream at me.

"Jack, why did you make me walk all the way here?" Ruby yelled out of frustration.

My eyes widen and I quickly tried to think of an excuse to tell her, but I could not come up with anything, so I tried to sweep that under the rug.

"Nothing umm why have you come here?"

If Ruby were to see Olivia in my room, I would not want to know what she would have thought about me or her.

Ruby then leaned forward and came close to my ear while whispering, "Come with me, I have to show you something."

I wondered what she wanted to show me. I was really annoyed at Ruby as I had to send Olivia away before she could even finish her breakfast and heal her ankle.

I did not say anything to Ruby and followed her out of my room into the clear afternoon sky. The sun was shining bright and the sound of the waves crashing filled my ears peacefully.

While crossing the pool area, Ruby and I were shocked to see Sam walking nearby with his phone in hand.

I didn't want him to notice me with Ruby otherwise I would get exposed. He would question us so much and I did not want that to happen! I turned over to Ruby to alert her about Sam and the consequences if he sees us together.

We started to panic and tried to think of a way to get away from his sight! Right then we saw a huge palm tree next to us.

Both of us hid behind the trunk of the nearby palm tree in the area until Sam passed by. I could not relax until he went away. I did not want to get my plan ruined so quickly.

As we were waiting behind the trunk, Ruby was growing frustrated at Sam walking at a snail's pace.

I told her to calm down immediately and soon Sam walked away.

I was relieved that the crisis was averted, and my secret was safe. We then proceeded to walk to the place that Ruby wanted to take me at.

Ruby made me walk over to the beach near the resort property and we waited on the golden sand for a few minutes in the burning hot sun. I was starting to sweat a bit while standing exposed to the sun.

Ruby did not inform me anything! She did not tell me why we were standing in this lonesome area of the beach. She just stood by with her eyes covered with sunglasses and looked over at the crashing waves of the sea.

At that point, I saw a person walk over to us from a distance. The heat of the sun blurred that person's face from afar so I could not identify them.

After wiping my sweat from my forehead, a couple of times, I squinted once again and was finally able to see the person walking over to us.

I could not believe what my eyes saw. I was amazed and shocked to see that person stand in front of me.

Mrs. Erica Wayne? CEO of YouTube? Here? Why did she want to meet me? I was so confused at that point.

"Oh, hi Jack!" she greeted while slowly tilting her hand with a smile on her face. Her straw hat and sunglasses protected her from the hot Australian sun!

I nervously laughed and said, "Erica, you? What are you doing here?"

She did not answer my question and instead looked over to Ruby who looked back at her each with a smile across their faces.

I was so confused and had no idea what was going on. What were these two up to?

"I'll just cut right to the chase, ok?!" she responded.

I was taken aback by her seriousness. I wanted to know more so I just nodded and listened to what she had to say.

"My assistant Ruby got you here as I needed to discuss how to deal with that brat Olivia for good!"

Before I could even bring forth my question of how she knew about Olivia, she gave me the answer I was looking for.

"You do not need to be shocked! Ruby told me all about your hate for Olivia. And trust me, I can help you a lot!"

"What's in it for you? Why do you want to help me?" I asked in confusion.

And after that, Erica told me every single detail about her past with Olivia and her hatred for her. I was shocked to know about these things. I never expected Olivia out of all the people to develop enemies! She was so kind and sweet to everyone.

It was now crystal clear why Erica wanted to take revenge on Olivia. Her reputation was ruined because of her actions. I did not know actually what to think of that situation.

"Now that you know, will you help me take our revenge on her?" she asked with a determined look on her face.

Her hatred for Olivia was evident on her face. I was amazed at how much Olivia pissed her off. It was so surprising to notice.

Suddenly, from afar I heard a strong voice which said, "I can help you with that!"

My body shook when I heard that voice. Was someone eavesdropping on us? I was afraid that it would be someone familiar. And if that was the case, then I was busted.

I looked over Erica's shoulder to find a woman dressed in a black tank top with a pair of black leggings.

As she got near us, my heart dropped as I saw that the girl was none other than Nikita!

I realized that she was Olivia's friend, and I knew I was done for today. I was a bit nervous and did not know how to deal with her.

Ruby, Erica and I all just stared at her face which was caked in makeup and to be honest, she really did not do a good job at it.

She looked at us with a sarcastic look on her face and commented, "Y'all do not have to be afraid of me! I won't tell a single soul."

Erica demanded Nikita to state her reasonings as to why she was eavesdropping on us. I could clearly see that Erica was upset but mainly scared if Nikita might expose her.

Giving out a giggle, Nikita replied, "Well, I was passing by, minding my own business and I heard Olivia's name from your mouth, and since I hate her so much, I wanted to know what's the tea."

"What? You hate her?" I added.

She turned towards me and leaned in. She looked at me with her demon looking eyes which really frightened me.

"Hate? I despise that brat!" she exclaimed.

I listened to her reasons of hating Olivia and I was truly amazed at how many people Olivia infuriated. It came as a shock to me.

I wondered if that naive Olivia was ever aware of the amount of people who hated her.

Erica all of a sudden started giving out an evil laugh which I knew was not a good sign for Olivia.

They shook each other's hands and Erica welcomed Nikita on board our plans.

Erica and Nikita bonded very well over their hatred for Olivia. They looked like they would never have mercy for her.

We went up to a corner amidst the crowd that appeared on the beach since the sun was nicely shining bright.

Erica started whispering her plan while Nikita pitched in to add some misery to Olivia.

Ruby and I stood still, listening and nodding our heads.

Nikita stepped on top of a rock and announced, "We are going to crush Olivia until she begs for mercy."
