Chapter 48: Chapter 48
Ingrid's POV
I can't believe that I'll be marrying the man of my dream today. I can feel the beating of the heartbeat. It was as if it wanted to get out of my chest. It looks like a horse determined to win a race.
"My daughter is so beautiful," Papa said while staring at me. I smiled at him because of that. I remember hating my father so much that I no longer care if he will take me to the altar or what but he’s here. He will be the one extending my palm to the man I see my life with.
I can't deny that when I remember Mama I still feel angry with Papa. Madness because he was not there when we needed him but somehow he is trying his best for us and my daughter.
"You're a really strong woman, you know?" Papa said while smiling at me. I could see the trail of tears from his eyes.
"I can't believe I'll remember your Mom today," he whispered. My fist clenched slightly because of what he said. When Mama is mentioned I just remember the things we said to each other in the past.
“I felt really bad that I left you when you really needed someone to hold on to. Sorry, Nak, if I only care about my own feelings. I'm sorry if feel so burdened with the responsibility of being a Mom and Dad to you and your siblings,” he told me.
"In fear, you turned your back on us and passed the responsibility on to me," I said. I have forgiven him but I still can't forget everything. It was already stuck in my mind.
“Forgive me, Nak, for everything. You deserve to be happy, you and Raya… You went through a lot… you are even stronger than me, Nak… I wish for your happiness,” he said to me while crying now.
"I've forgiven you, Pa… before… but you shouldn't just ask for forgiveness to me," I said. He already knows that because I know that he also visited Mama every day when we moved her remains here in Nueva Ecija.
"No more dramas, Pa. We should just be happy today." I laughed as I stood up. I saw Irah just smiling at me standing on one side. Irah was the toughest to pursue because until now she still couldn’t forgive Dad. To this day, her treatment is still cold.
"Congrats, Ate, you know that I always want your heart to be happy, don't you?" she asked, still smiling at me.
“I know, thank you, Irah. For being there with me during those times when I no longer knew myself,” I said, hugging her tightly.
"Nah, that's nothing compared to your sacrifices, Ate. I love you so much," she said as she returned my hug to me.
"What the heck? You two are having a drama again! Your makeup will be ruined!” Sandro said who was intruding again. I couldn't help but laugh when he came over to hug me too. My heart seems to be full now.
"I love you, Ates!" he said. Later on, they also left the dressing room because they were already called outside. The ceremony starts now. I could feel my nervousness as I sat in front of the mirror.
When I was called, my hands got cold. I was just in the car, waiting for my turn.
"Stop being nervous," Dad told me with a laugh.
"What if I trip, Pa?" I said with nervousness, he just laughed. He just shook his head at me because of that. When we went out that's what I just kept on thinking about but when the music started to play and I saw the man I love, all thoughts seemed to suddenly disappear.

When I was younger I used to say
If ever fall in love someday
I can’t help but smile because it’s true, I always date someone thinking that they will be my last.
He was one of the best things that came into my life. I thought I'll end up hating every person that entered my life but he changed it. He changed that.
I don’t know why the song is so accurate. I’m happy that even though we went through a lot, we're still here. Marrying each other. This is it. I don't think I can love someone as I love him. He will be the last. I'm sure of that.
"Hi," he greeted me.
"Why are you crying?" I laughed while asking him a question.
"Who said I was crying?" he asked, staring at me.
"Finally, you're going to be mine," he whispered to me.
When the ceremony began, we both listened seriously to the priest until the exchanging of vows came. We both smiled when Raya approached us, she was our ring bearer. She even smiled at us so I wanted to pinch her right away.
"We'll live together now, right, Nanay, Tatay?" she asked. We smiled and nodded. I could see the joy on her face and we were just the same.
“In the name of God, I, Indigo Cornel take you, Ingrid Galang, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow.” He was just seriously looking at my eyes.
I also said the wedding vow.
“In the name of God, I, Ingrid Galang take you, Indigo Cornel, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow,” I sincerely said.
“I love you,” he whispered before giving me a kiss.
When the ceremony ended, we went to the reception as well. When we arrived, Indigo's friends were already there. Directors and even some celebrities here. So when I looked back at Jolie, I could immediately see the joy on her face. I just laughed softly because she was ready to take pictures with all Indigo's acquaintances here.
“Ms. Asterin! You're my idol! You are really beautiful in person!” she said when she greeted a beautiful woman who looked sophisticated. All I know is that Indigo and she used to be a schoolmate and also became an actress but also stopped because her passion was different. She's really pretty, especially in person. She was with a tall man who looks handsome too. They seem to have a world of their own. All of Indigo's friends are really good-looking. This guy really collecting friends who have pretty faces.
Chora was the only one who have a loud voice in their group. I just laughed softly, especially when she saw us.
“Omg! Congrats!” she said, approaching us. She even hugged me tightly because of that.
"You should thank Ingrid, if she didn't marry you, you'll grow an old single," she said to Indigo who just shrugged. He's just pretending to didn't to hear anything so his day won't be ruined while Chora is so hyper while greeting other people.
"You see that handsome guy, Girl?" she asked, pointing to another famous actor. I think his name is Zeno. I also watch him on TV.
"Nothing, I just saw him too," she said so I laughed and just shook my head.
“There are so many handsome faces here, don't you think? Did you regret getting married?” she asked me so I couldn't help but laugh especially when Atlas pulled her with a frown and Indigo glared at her.
We only stayed at the table of his friends for a while when I decided to say goodbye because I also had guests here.
When Gracia greeted me, she almost screamed because of a lot of celebrities here.
"I hope I didn't answer someone here. There are so many handsome choices," she whispered so her boyfriend's eyes became sharp. I laughed there because she really like to tease her boyfriend. I got stuck on my co-teachers because all of them are greeting me. I was just given an opportunity to move to another table when there was already an actor who was singing in front.
"Hey, how are you?" I asked Alexandro with a smile as I approached them.
"I'm fine. Congrats again on your wedding, Ingrid," he said with a smile. I also waved to Yanie and Cheska. Yanie is the one who takes care of Cheska. She's still in high school now and she studies really hard. Her grades are so high.
Like Steffanie, I also saw Yanie in a competition with some of my students and we also exchanged numbers so I also talked to her once about Cheska. When there's an event, we talk with each other.
"Congrats, Ma'am," Cheska greeted me so I smiled at her. I just talked to them for a while until I could feel Indigo wrapping his hand around my waist. I turned to him and raised an eyebrow.
“Why are you here? Are you done talking to your friends?” I asked him. We also entertain the guests.
After a few performances, the games started as well. When I throw the flower, Gracia got it. The witch was very excited because of that.
Our guests also went home at dawn. The children already slept so our friends who like to drink were left behind. We were in the middle of entertaining our guest when Indigo whispered to me.
"Love, let's go inside," Indigo whispered to me.
"Wait your ass, there are still guests," I said, glaring at him. Instead of listening, he said goodbye to our friends who were still drinking.
"As long as I'm a godmother, okay?!" Chora laughed so I blushed. His friends were just teasing so I just shook my head.
"It's legit now. Let's really give Raya a younger sibling."
