Chapter 41: Chapter 41

Ingrid's POV

“Raya…” Indigo called our daughter.

"Do you want to meet Lolo and Lola?" he asked her, so Raya looked at him. Even I feel the same. I easily feel nervous but I also want to let Raya meet her grandma and grandpa. My daughter deserves all the love.

"Yes!" she said, smiling at her father.

"We'll go there today," Indigo said so I immediately saw my daughter's excitement while I just felt nervous. When I last set foot there, we still didn't get along with his parents but it's about years now, maybe she's okay with us now.

The next thing I knew, Raya and I were also fixing ourselves for our visit to Indigo's parents. I don't know why I'm going with them even though they should be the only ones who should go there.

“Do I look okay, Nanay? Am I beautiful? Do you think Grandpa and Grandma will like me?” she asked me. I smiled there.

"Of course, they will. My love is so beautiful, who else wouldn't want to like you?" My smile widened as I exposed her curly hair. I also couldn't help but smile because she could finally wear her summer dress. I was stunned when I noticed that Indigo was standing there. I could see the smile on his lips but when he saw me looking at him, the expression on his face immediately returned to normal. Annoyed mode again.

"Let's go?" he asked us. Raya and I nodded almost at the same time. He smiled widely as he praised the child.

It's as if my heart wants to come out to its strong beating. I just can't really control how I feel.

"They already know about Raya?" I asked Indigo. He nodded at me.

“But can I talk to Daddy first? I only tell Mommy,” he explained to me. I nodded.

When we got there, I just watched him come out before I turned my gaze to Raya. We just talked so that the child would not be bored.

Soon, I was stunned on my sit by a knock on the window. I immediately saw Indigo’s Mom there.

"Can we talk first?" she asked me. She didn't look at my daughter. Her eyes were just straight at me.

"Let's go out first, Nak," I said to Raya but Indigo's mother spoke immediately.

"It's just a minute, leave her there first," she said so I remained silent. I had no intention of leaving the child but Indigo's Mommy called me impatiently. I was complacent, but I left our child in the car for a while. Raya is also not the type who disobeys orders so she won't go out.

"Can we stay here?" I ask so that I could still see the child even if we talk. Indigo's Mommy looked at me and raised an eyebrow slightly.

"I'm not going to wander around anymore. Do you really have a child with Indigo?" she asked directly. I nodded slowly there.

"I really don't like you even before," she said.

“Especially now because of what you did to my son. I can even barely talk with my son because of you. He's been at the bar every day for the past years. So now that he's okay, you come back again? Disturbing my son's peaceful life again?” she asked me. I couldn't speak because I also didn't know what to say.

“Are you sure she's Indigo's daughter? Maybe you just made it up for us to give you money,” she sarcastically laughed while looking at me.

“Why is it only now that you said that? Because you know that my son is already rich and you will have a part of it again.” I just bite my lips because of that.

"Maybe you also taught your daughter—" Before she could continue what she's going to say, I speak.

“Excuse me, Mrs. Cornel, but please don't involve my daughter here. It's okay if you don't accept me if you don't accept us at all. We are not forcing ourselves on you. Especially my daughter. I can make my daughter live a decent life on my own… We are happy on our own… Without Indigo and without you… so please, I don't need your insults,” I said. I just bite my lips when I saw Indigo just standing on one side.

I can see how he glares at me but I don't care about that anymore.

"Raya and I will go home first, I'm sorry," I said, turning my back on him.

"We'll go home," he firmly said but I heard his mother call him. His mother even hold his hands so I just went straight out of their house. I went to Raya who was just waiting inside the car. My tears rolled down my cheeks when I approached her but I immediately wiped them away.

“Nak, can we just visit your Grandparents next time? Let's just go for a walk today,” I told her.

“Why, Nanay? Don't they like me?” she asked. I immediately shook my head. Why did I forget that my daughter is smart?

"No, it's not like that," I said, mixing it with laughter.

"Your Lola and Lolo are kinda busy today. Let's just go for a walk," I said. I knew she already have something on her mind but she smiled and nodded at me.

“What about Tatay, Nanay?” she asked.

"He's going to stay with his parent for a while," I told her. Raya even looked at me before she turned her gaze back to Tatay who was talking with his mother. She saw them talking intensely so she just nodded.

They were talking seriously that they didn't even notice us yet. Raya and I just took a taxi and went to the sky ranch here in Cavite. I felt bad about what Mrs. Cornel said so I'll just make her feel happy on my own. I really don't want to hear bad things about my child. I'm not really the type of person who will always fight someone. I can handle everything but it's a different matter when it comes to Raya.

Raya, on the other hand, enjoys riding various rides. So am I. Even for a short time, I was able to entertain myself. We were even able to take photos together.

"It's a pity Tatay isn't here," she said to me so I just smiled. Indigo is already part of her life and I can't take her away from him. I also have no plans to do that. It just depends on whether he himself will drive the child away. That's what I don't want to happen.

"Nanay, did Tatay's Mom say something to you?" she asked me so I looked at her.

"Nothing, Nak, why?" I mixed it with laughter but her eyes still remained on me.

“You’re lying. I saw how your face wrinkled. You never tend to be rude to someone, you are always polite even if the parents at school are all annoying,” she said so my lips parted. I just didn’t expect our child to be really observant as well.

“You are just really thinking too much. It's nothing,” I laughed but her serious eyes remained. She actually inherited that from her father.

"I love you, Nanay," she said randomly so I bit my lips so hard. I smiled before kissing her.

"I love you always, My Love."

We just continued sightseeing until it was already nightfall.

"Let's go home to Tatay?" She smiled and nodded broadly.

"Okay, Nay," she said, so we went home.

When we got home. I saw a lot of cars outside. I couldn't help but frown there.

"What's going on, Manong Harold?" I asked Manong when we entered.

"Ma'am, Sir called an investigator to find you," he said, so my lips parted.

“Po? I just wander Raya around,” I said while being confused.

"Sir almost went crazy when he came home and you aren't here," he told me so I didn't know how to react. Raya looked at me because of that.

"What's going on, Nanay?" she asked. I just smiled and shook my head.

"Let's go inside, Nak," I said, holding her hands as we went inside. Some people immediately looked at us. I can also see Indigo's heavy looks at us.

"Tatay!" Raya said while smiling and approached her father. I saw mixed emotions on Indigo's face. His eyes were sharp when he landed on me but he sighed when he went to Raya. I just bit my lips so hard as I watched him. He looked like a thorn was finally pulled out when he saw Raya.

"I'll just talk to them then let's eat outside, okay?" he asked our daughter with a smile. Obviously, he's just suppressing the anger he feels. I almost froze when he looked at me coldly.

"Wait here." I just nodded but I also told Raya to go to the bedroom to change her clothes.

In less than a few minutes, Indigo was also in our room. He doesn't want to lose sight of his daughter. His eyes are sharp when he looks at me. As he said, we ate outside. He was really cold to me. It's not like the previous days when I was still trying to coax him. I'm mentally drained. I'm also tired today.

When we got home, Raya quickly fell asleep because she was tired from our sightseeing. I just watched her as she slept. I felt Indigo standing by my side.

"Let's talk," she said in a cold voice. At first, I just sat on the bed and had no intention of talking to him because I knew it would only increase the resentment I'm feeling right now.

"Are you going to run again?" he asked so I looked at him. He was so determined to talk to me that I finally nodded before following him out of Raya's room. He might scream and wake our son up.

"Where have you been?" he asked me.

"Just taking a walk," I said.

“Just taking a walk? Bullshit! You almost killed me for the fear that you would leave me again. You said you don't even need me in your life. You are so used in hurting me… ” I saw the anger in his eyes but I was tired of thinking about it. I just want to rest too.

"I'm sorry then," I said. I didn't even try to coax him.

"I won't take your daughter away from you, don't worry," I said in a low voice but enough for him to hear.

“And I won't let you…” Like a king declaring war while I have no intention of fighting him.

“Is it over? I am also tired, I want to sleep,” I said.

"I'm not done yet," he said.

“Fuck, can you just scold me tomorrow? I'm tired of hearing anger from you… from all of you… I'm also tired… it's not just you who's hurting here… ” I said. Tears well up again just because of simple things. But that simple thing hurts me.
