Chapter 39: Chapter 39

Ingrid's POV

“That’s all for today. You may go. Good day, Class,” I said goodbye to them. At the same time, they greeted me back.

I was already in the elem department and was about to pick up Raya when a student approached me.

"Good day, Teacher Ingrid," he said so I smiled and greeted him as well.

"Good day, Vince," I said, still messing up his hair.

"Hi, Ma'am." I just stopped when his Uncle approached me. I just smiled to greet him too. Just to be respectful.

“Good day, Mr. Pontanes.”

"You're really pretty, Ma'am. Have you read my text?" he asked me. I just pretended that I didn't read it because I usually only reply to important messages.

"If you have a concern about your nephew, you can text me," I said, emphasizing his nephew.

"Can't we talk about us?" he laughed jokingly. I secretly frowned there. I was about to say something when someone grabbed my waist. I know very well who it is. Just the smell of him I already know who's with me, he always seems fresh. Indigo even pulled me closer to him.

"You can't text her unless it's work-related," he coldly said to end the conversation. Just by his voice, it seems like all the hair in your body will rise.

Mr. Pontanes frowned at him.

"Why, who are you?" he arrogantly asked.

"He's my Tatay… po!" Raya said while still holding Indigo's hand. I looked at her. Indigo is holding her in the other hand. The shock from Mr. Pontanes' face is there. He even turned to me so I simply smiled.

“We need to go, Mr. Pontanes. Good day, ” I greeted them because I don't want to be rude. When I looked at Indigo, I just saw him raising an eyebrow to me.

I don’t know why I was disappointed when he let me go. Are you kidding, Ingrid? Of course, you're going to enter the car.

"I brought my car," I said. We will take Indigo to our house today because that's what Raya wishes. She said he would show him her plants and introduce him to her Grandfather. Raya will be the first one who'll introduce Indigo to Papa because when we are still together, I never had a chance to introduce him to Papa.

He nodded so I thought we agreed that I would use my car and he will do the same but they just got in my car. They were both in the backseat. I occasionally look at them in the mirror and sometimes Indigo and my eyes meet. I was also the first one to look away because of shame.

When we got home, I felt nervous. I shouldn't be nervous but I can't help but be bothered with Indigo.

"Big Bro!" Sandro shouted loudly while waving at Indigo when we got down.

"How are you?" Indigo asked, smiling at my brother.

“I'm okay, Kuya. As if we didn't meet this morning, huh?” Sandro asked laughingly.

"Come inside," he invited, so we went straight inside. They were talking casually. Well, they were very close when Sandro was a child so I wouldn't be really surprised that they could easily get along again.

When Irah saw him, her forehead furrowed slightly, and smiled at him. I know to this day she still remembers what I went through. She really wanted to tell Indigo that I was pregnant back then but I just stopped her.

"It's true that you are Raya's father, I thought Big Sister was just joking!" Jolie said even looking at Indigo's face. She even grins so I can't help but laugh.

“Big bro, can you make me a celebrity? I'm also good at acting,” she said so I pulled her inside.

“Stop it, Jolie. If you really want to, you have to work hard for that,” I told her so she just pouted at what I said.

"Why do you have to work harder when there's already a connection?" she asked so I glared at her. Eventually, she just nodded because of how I looked at her. She also knew that I would scold her so she did not speak again.

I saw Papa who was like a king waiting inside. He immediately raised an eyebrow when he saw Indigo.

"Papa, Indigo, Raya's father," I said so Papa kept looking at him.

"Good evening," Indigo said to him.

"Grandpa, I already have a Tatay," Raya said with a smile. I couldn't help but feel my chest tighten because of what our child said. I just didn't know that she really wanted to have a father. If she had said…

I just sighed. What else can I do? Everything has already happened.

Papa just messed up Raya's hair while still looking at Indigo.

"Let's eat first," he told us so we nodded to him.

When he was at the table, he seemed like he wanted to ask so many questions but because his granddaughter is there, he couldn't do it. We are just all looking at Raya and Indigo. While looking at them, I couldn’t avoid tearing up again. I'm genuinely happy. It's really nice finally said what you've been hiding for so long.

When we finished eating, Irah and I washed the dishes. Indigo wanted to help but because Papa wanted to talk to him, they went out to the garden to have a drink.

"Are you happy?" Irah asked me. I smiled at her and nodded.

"So happy," I said without losing the smile on my lips.

"Raya is happy and I'm happy when I see them contented and cheerful," I said with a smile.

"Then I'm genuinely happy for you, Ate, you deserve all the happiness in this world," she said, hugging me tightly.

"What the heck? You're just going to wash the dishes but you are already having a drama here!” Jolie said who was cleaning the table. We laughed softly there before we rolled our eyes at her.

When it was over, I also went out to peek at Papa and Indigo. The three of them were serious as they talked. Immediately my eyes widened. Three?

“Omy, Santino Andrew, who told you you can drink ?! Go to bed! Sleep!” I said while glaring at him.

"Well, why did you let him? This one is still minor," I asked Papa.

"It's just a shot," Sandro said who was now pouting.

"If I shot a gun-in your face, are you still going to have a drink?" I asked him.

"This will be the last one, Big Sister. I'm going inside," he said.

I looked at Indigo who was smiling and looking at me but when he saw me look at me, his immediately disappeared and his face returned to his previous expression. I pouted and just turned around. He really takes time when getting angry.

"Don't drink too much. Raya doesn't want the smell of alcohol," I said as I went inside.

"This daughter of mine is too strict," Papa laughed at me while shaking his head. He would have added more but did not continue. I just shake my head before going inside.

"Tatay is drinking, Nanay?" Raya asked. She was preoccupied with coloring her drawing.

“Yes, Nak. Assignment?” I also asked her. She nodded. I stepped aside to look at it. I even saw Indigo included in her drawing today. When she's drawing a family. Her Aunts, Uncles, Papa, and I are the only ones there so I couldn't help but smile when Indigo was with her now.

I pinned hair to her ear as I stared at her. I also noticed the smile on her lips while drawing a family.

"Are you happy?" I asked her. She turned to me there and her smile gradually widened.

"I am, Nanay," she said. It was as if I was in a cloud looking at my child's smile.

I also sit with her, doing some of my work at school. We were both busy until she fell asleep doing her drawing. I just smiled and was ready to carry her into our room when Indigo approached us.

"I'll do it," he said, so I nodded.

"Are you done drinking?" I asked him. He shook his head at me.

"Your Dad bought a few more bottles," he said so I couldn't help but shake my head.

"Papa really likes alcohol," I complained.

"I'm sorry," I said.

"It's okay," he simply said.

"I'm going back, I just peeked at you… Raya," he said when Raya was already in bed. I just nodded at him because of that. I just watched his back walk away. I'm also drowsy so I finish what I have to do. I lay down for a moment next to the child. I take a nap before I'll take care of their mess after they drink later.

I just woke up to my alarm. I also stood up to peek at Papa and Indigo outside but I only saw Indigo there. Dad was already asleep. It looks like Indigo will fall anytime but he's still drinking. I sighed before approaching him.

"You're drunk, go to sleep," I said when I snatched the glass from him. He look like a child complaining but when I looked back again he just stared at me.

"I'm sorry, I drank too much." His eyes widened when he looked at me. I bite my lips because of that.

"How about you?" he asked so I furrowed my forehead.

"Don't you want me to drink too?" My lips parted for the softness of his voice. It's like that Indigo college student who is always soft. My brain is so confused and can no longer think correctly.

"Hmm, ban me from drinking too," he whispered to me. I feel all the butterflies in my stomach when his face goes closer to mine. I could also feel the strength of my heartbeat. It's like it's going to explode with nervousness. His face got closer and closer until he just fell on my neck. I just closed my eyes as I took him to Papa's room. I'm sure Raya won't like the smell of her father when she wakes up in case I take him to our room.

When I organize them both, I got up to go to Raya's room. I can't even sleep because of him. As if I had returned from being a teenager who was noticed by her crush. I just bit my lips so hard. Heck, Ingrid, just go to sleep. You're just drowsy.

The next day, I woke up with Raya no longer beside me. I fell asleep too late so I woke up at eight o'clock. When I came out, it was already noisy at home because it was Saturday and they don't have school either. We have our own work for cleaning so it will be fast for each of us. It's also our bonding together. After that, they can hold their cell phones all day long.

My eyes searched for Indigo and Raya so Irah answered.

"They're in the garden, Ate," they said so I just nodded. I went outside to look at them.

The smile on my lips immediately curved when I saw Raya and him busy watering the plants. Their posture is still almost the same while working. They just keep on talking, I can see how happy they are. I was just smiling the whole time while watching them.

When Indigo looked back at me, it was the same cold expression again. Wow, seems like he didn't flirt last night, huh?
