He moved further holding her hands above her head as she struggled to be free with tears rolling down from her eyes. Her trick worked as he lets her go in no time glaring at her.

" Dinner is ready. " With that, he left as she heaved a sigh of relief running to bolt the knock which had him stopping on his track wondering if she was that scared of him ' you're awful to her. Why wouldn't she? His subconscious mind reminded him as he went on with his walk setting the table while Annette pop the wine.

" Did you add what I requested? Ann nods smiling putting the bottle of Irish wine in ice.

Alvin turned the light off then Annette strikes a match while the candlelight illuminated the whole room which had dark wallpaper with few couches and a lot of shelves for books and work. The curtains were closed as well.

" You may leave." He tells her

" What about miss Melody? Is she welcome? She bit her tongue looking at her feet. She just hopes he reciprocates their feeling

" She's recuperating from the burns. She's too ashamed to face me now let's say my beautiful Jamaican wife disfigured her face according to her " he taunts as they burst into loud laughter which alarmed Kate who was surprised to see him laughing' with Annette to be precise.

Her eyes wandered between them and walked to his wardrobe to get a dress.

" I'll need my clothes. I am not wearing Melody's dress " she said with her hands on her waist. Annette knew that was her cue to leave and off she went.

" They're yours. Melody always brings her clothes. I told Lisa to go shopping for you" which was a big lie. She squints her eyes trying to see beyond his words. She ransacked the wardrobe which was filled with women's clothing of different brands.

" Including lingeries? I don't believe a word you say" she stated picking his sweatshirt having trouble finding her size of shorts.

" Kindly tell them to bring my nighties" she demanded earning a scoff from him.

" Feisty. There's no satisfying you Kate. I had a wardrobe filled for you yet you chose to wear my clothes. fine, then you're not getting a panty. So sit your ass down and dine with me" he snapped making her flinch. She wasn't going to risk sleeping without panties so she picked a pyjama and a panty ignoring his furious stare.

Little by little she ate her meal feeling uncomfortable with his stares. He'd fill her plate from time to time.

Alvin found himself in a trance watching her sitting obediently in front of him. She looks beautiful without makeup or longer hair. It was one of the things he liked about her.

" So, how is my mom? Is she better? She asked softly as her heartbeat increased

" Eat. Your mom isn't your business anymore. You always find a way to ruin everything" he sneered pouring her a glass of wine.

" I sent for a specialist regarding your asthmatic attack. He recommended a new inhaler. It works better than the first one with fewer attacks too ." He announced as she looked at him with mixed emotions. She didn't know what she feels for him anymore but it wasn't hate.

" Thanks" she muttered gulping her drink as he picked his cutlery digging in. She stared at his charming face enthralled with his handsomeness. He looked just as handsome with candlelight. She twitched her mouth feeling dizzy but shook her head still eating.

" You should grow your hair you know. You'll look prettier with longer hair" he suggested as she shrugged muffling a chuckle

" I don't like short hair. Upkeep is too expensive and I look younger in this" she explained as he held her hand caressing it placing a soft kiss on it

" Then it's up to you cos I'm not spending a dime on you " he muttered but she was out already almost falling off the chair as he caught her. Tucking her in bed.

He opened his safe box-checking if she confiscated some which she did. He searched the whole room looking for the parcel then changed the password storming out of the room.

Lisa and Annette were playing the game of chess when he climbed down throwing the chess across the living room.

" You're too close to Kate Lisa, give me what she took. For God's sake, why will you side with an outsider over me? Is she that pitiful? Kate is a snake. Not until I tame her I won't regard her as my wife now hand it over" he masked his anger stretching his hands forward

" I... I'm sorry Sir. She isn't a bad person. She loves you. You're making a mistake" she advised

" Shut up. Hand it over" Lisa was trembling wondering how she was going to get out of the mess

" Yes sir" she stuttered leaving to get it while he waits impatiently trailing behind her startling her.

She handed it to him but he wasn't satisfied ordering his boys to search her room for copies which they found.

" You connived with Kate to rob me? You're leaving my house this minute. I can't have a traitor live with me" he said plainly as Lisa went on her knees pleading

" I'll give the last warning. Stay away from Kate. I'm not asking you to stop being nice to her but assisting her to steal from me? It's way out of the picture. Leave Kate to me. Do you understand? I'm going to do despicable things to you, the next time you try this. No salary for six months" he voiced leaving her in tears.

Annette knelt beside her in consolation.

" Don't worry I'll borrow you mine. I don't have anyone to send money to. You can lend it. Kate is a jinx. Why did you do that for her? You're lucky sir Alvin likes you. " She cooed imagining if it was her.

" Alvin is trying to break her Annette. The poor girl is locked up. Her family knows nothing about her suffering. I can't help it. " She tells her as Annette thought of the drug she laced her wine with feeling guilty

" It's all my fault. I should have known. Why can't she divorce him? It's obvious she isn't happy. " Ann thought out loud

" She can't. I don't think Sir Alvin did a court marriage with her. She'll have to sue him to court for a divorce which I know it's futile. She's stuck with him " Lisa announced

" Then he loves her. I don't recall Cynthia going through the same thing" Annette said

" Maybe he's scared of his feelings for her. Whatever it is my room needs to be tidied" Lisa stated taking a better view of her untidy room.
