Before leaving the big City, Kate withdrew every penny she had in her account likewise Dante. They were going to start their life all over again.
A gun was fired at Colton luckily he dodged in time retreating to another place.
" You let her leave alone? She's due for christ's sake" came the roaring voice of Alvin after waiting for Kate for two hours yet she didn't return.
" She didn't say anything to me. I didn't see her leave the house" he defended himself hiding behind a pillar to save his life.
" Find her Colt. Don't return without her. Get out of my presence" he yelled as Colton sprinted off to the parking lot then drove out of the house.
Lisa who was in the kitchen heard her name and ran to answer him " did you see Kate leave with her bags?
" No sir. I thought she was with you" she said truthfully cos Alvin didn't rattle her out like the other times.
He gritted his teeth then climbed up to his room while Lisa trailed behind then watched him enter his room rummaging through her things thus decided to help him search for missing things.
" She didn't take anything" she informed him then saw Alvin holding her wedding ring.
" Why did she leave that behind? She was fine right? Did you fight with her? Alvin, you've to find her she's pregnant" Lisa urged worriedly oblivious to his stiffened posture.
A lot of things were running through his mind, he wasn't expecting her to use such tactics on him. She promised never to run away. His hold tightened on the ring looking at their wedding photo on the wall.
" Kate left with my unborn child? She wants to raise him with that bastard. Over my dead body will my son call another man his father. This is my bottom line. I'm done tolerating that bitch. I'm going to show her who I am" he unclenched his hands reaching for a burner phone giving several commands to find her and Dante.
" Alvin, calm down. Maybe she's still around. They might end up hurting her. You love that girl " he glared at her.
" And where has that gotten me? I don't love whores. I use then discard them. She's a nobody. She can't come into my world only to crash it" his eyes were red with anger as his burner phones began to ring one after the other with information regarding her whereabouts.
" Where? He asked the one info that piqued his interest.
" She closed her account. They both did then dispose of their cellphones in the sea. Your wife left her car and her laptop. Whosever transported them out of the city is a pro and he's trying to take them out of the country but we'll stop them once we acquire the transporter's details. One more thing do you want them alive, half-dead or dead?.
Lisa kept wondering what motivated Kate to run away from him. She thought they were happy after all they've reconciled.
She couldn't imagine what Alvin will do to her and who was the man he was talking about? She gave it a rest arranging his room.
In a small City, Kate and Dante were having barbeque discussing their Future by the Porch.
" I would give anything to see the look on his face when he finds out you're gone? Dante chimed in excitement.
" He'll look like a raging bull. Perhaps a wounded Lion. His brown eyes will turn dark and his pretty face will be wrinkled. He would look terrible and intimidating" she stated as his face envisaged in her mind. She shook it off.
" It's okay you know" Dante spoke not surprised she still harbors feelings for him.
" What? She asked stupefied
" To think about him. I get it. I know with time you'll come to love me. We've to prepare for the little one in your stomach. We're about to be parents" he spoke with anticipation like he was looking forward to it.
" Yeah but I'm still married to him. I want to divorce him. I don't know why it's so difficult to do so" she said dejectedly as he hugged her.
" Let's give it some time. Let's enjoy the moment. We're free " he reminded her as she smiled
" Yeah. Thanks, Dante I found out he switched my pills to vitamins. He wanted me to have a baby for him. "
" That explains why he accepted it without doubts. Don't worry all these are passed. It's just the two of us now"
" You mean the three of us" she corrected as he chuckled realizing his mistake. He broke from the hug cupping her cheeks.
" I love you, Kate. I love you with all my heart" he tells her softly staring at her lovingly.
" Dante, I need time to heal and when I have, I promise that I'm all yours. No one else's" she replied leaning into his hands as he smiled giving her a peck.
" Are you hungry? What would you like to eat? She was about to say something when some goons entered the neighborhood with hawk eyes like they were searching for someone. She held Dante's hands and ran towards their BMW. ' it's Alvin, he's looking for me. Let's go. He found us so quick " she said in panic which had Dante on the edge cos of her asthma.
" Kate breath. You can't have an attack at this point. How do you know he's the one?
She tried to calm down" it's him. It's him I know it. Leaving was a bad idea. We've to run Dante." She tells him as Dante nods sneaking out through the nook and cranny of the house to get his car.
" Get in. Please Kate" he urged as she entered the car nervously cursing her luck.
" Are you sure running is a good idea. What am I saying? Do you know where we're going? She said anxiously looking out of the glass screen.
" Yes, Kate. To the transporter's house he knows what to do" he said driving at an accelerated speed to downtown while Kate was compressing her inhaler in her mouth to prevent trauma.
