" Ok I'm sorry" Lucy apologised while doing the puppy eyes look.

Sarah glared at her " Don't beg me. Leave me alone"

Lucy who was sat on the edge of Sarah bed laughed. Sarah's actions are just too funny " but wait Sarah, were you really expecting someone's call?"

" It's non of your business"...

" My dear friend , it's actually my business. You're my property and who so ever you're dating or wants to date you must pass through me. I'm very sure this said person is a guy because you wouldn't bevave this way if it isn't"

Sarah groaned " you're annoying"

" You've said that for like twenty times already" she chuckled

" I'll leave this room"

" You go no where unless you tell me who this guy is!" Lucy wiggled her brows.

Sarah couldn't help it so she burst out laughing" why do you see joy in frustrating me like this?"

" Just tell me please"

" It's no one"

Lucy raised a brow " it sure must be someone if not you wouldn't be blushing right now "

" You're too nosy for your own good"

" Learnt that from the best, remember"

Sarah chuckles " Ok fine. We met yesterday while I went for a walk"

Lucy's ears perked up so she quickly move closer to Sarah " I'm all ears now "

" Gossip monger"

"Just tell me already"

" Okay fine"

" While I was sitting and was in my thoughts, this young guy came from no where only to check if I was okay. He is so charming Lucy, you need to see him" Sarah gushed " Well that's how it all started. We get to know each other and then exchanged numbers"

Lucy couldn't stop smiling " Finally my friend has found love. This must be interesting"

" You're not serious"

" But on a serious note Sarah, I'm so happy for you. I really am. Infact I want to meet this guy!" She squealed

" Calm down woman. He's just a friend nothing else. Don't go about thinking he is my boyfriend"

" For now he's just a friend but as time passes things will change. Just wait and see" Lucy couldn't hide her happiness.

" You're insufferable"

" But you love me like that " she winked.

" So now you will allow me to rest?"

Lucy nodded " yes ofcourse. But..."

Sarah groaned " what is it again?"

" Is he a member of our University?"

Sarah nodded " Yes he is. He was transferred from his University to ours of recent "

" Wow, that's cool. You guys will have time to see eachother then"

" Please stop building images in your head. He's just a friend nothing else"

" Just for now " she wiggled her brows

" You've said that now uncountable"

Ivan chuckles " Williams it's time you get yourself a girlfriend. All this girl's you're following won't help you . Don't go and catch STD "

" Ewww! God forbid. I don't move with dirty girls "

Ivan laughed " Dirty isn't written on their forehead "

" Who cares . I always make sure to pick the cleanest among them"

" Just be careful man. The only advice I can give you is to stop whoring about. It's high time you get a girl for yourself "

William raised a brow " you think I'm ready for that relationship drama! I'm not ready for the headache. Life is too short for all that"

" Don't say I didn't tell you. HIV IS REAL"

Abby's pov

This week has just been too hectic. Abby collapsed on her desk " why is it just too tiring to study?"Her friends laughed getting it funny

" At the end of the day, you'll be the one to enjoy it while it last. Education is by the way the key to success and with time you'll get to see it use.

Abby scoffed " look at you. You two have forgotten that most of the richest men in our country dropped out of college and they are successful. It isn't all about the education, it has more to do with your potentials. Education is just a bonus. We have lots of people that aren't educated and they still are successful"

Katherine her friend nodded in agreement " you're right though. Anyways can we forget about this whole thing? I'm so damn hungry!"

Abby laughed " You love food" she said remembering njer fejnen

" Food is life babe. Without it I won't function"

" Let's just go please before I collapse here right now"

" Ok sorry. I've heard you. I promise to always have time for myself" he told her through the video call.

She smiled " Good"

They were having this conversation about Ivan not having time for himself. He's been looking disheveled and also thin. Ivan's mind has been on this coming match which is next week. He really want to put his all into it and see that they come out as a winner. It will really help him alot if his team win.

" So we've been talking all day about me , what about you? How is everything over there?"

She smiled " everything and everyone is fine. Infact I'm thinking about going home this week. It's been ages since I last saw mom and she's worried shitless.

He tutted " you didn't do it good love. You should always have time for your mom. Don't forget you're the only one she has and you should make sure you don't make her feel lonely."

She sighed " I know. It's just how things have been lately at school. Infact I don't even have time for myself that I even began to fear for myself. Sarah have been my back bone."

" What about me? Aren't I your back bone?"

" Ivan you know what I mean. Please don't make me feel bad. Sarah is here with me and you are far away and at the same time you still mean alot to me and you know that. please stop talking as if I'm only trying to use you or something."

" Wait! Pause! What did you just say?"

"I...I..

" God Lucy! Why would you say something like that . I'm not trying to say that you're using me! You know I was just joking"

" I know"

" Then why are you saying that ?"

" I'm sorry"

He sighed " on a serious note, have I been making you feel insecure lately? I know for the past few weeks I haven't been calling and chatting you and I really feel bad for that"

" Stop talking like that Ivan. I'm not complaining"

" But I am. I feel bad for abandoning you all this while and I'm still feeling bad for the years i have spent for not seeing your beautiful face physically"

" We're good Ivan. Let's not talk about that please"

" I want us to talk about it. It's now or never. I want to know what's going through your mind. I want to know everything you've been going through that I'm not aware of . I want to know your pains. If I'm the one inflicting that pain on you, I want to know"

" Ivan please just stop it already. Let's not do this right now"

" Please let's do it right now Lucy. Please. I want to know what you're thinking and what you need me to change from my behavior in this relationship. I feel like I'm not good enough for you atimes" Ivan felt pained

" Ok fine!You want to know what I'm going through ?! Alright then. Ivan you make me feel insecure, you make me feel as if I'm not in a relationship at times but the reverse is the case now. I always feel lonely anytime, I see my friends with their boyfriends and I with no one here. I feel as if I'm only wasting my time waiting for you. I just want you here ivan, I really want you" she stifled softly

Ivan was quiet throughout

" I feel terribly lonely and then I thought I was going to wait for a year just to see you but now the discussion has change. Especially now that you're now finally going to join your football game and I'll still be here waiting till infinity. I'm tired of waiting Ivan. I'm really tired. Please give me the assurance that things will be alright. I really need that right now"

Ivan was breathing hard now but still didn't say anything.

" At times I'm always scared that you might find someone much more beautiful than I am. I'm scared of you leaving me . Please don't break my heart Ivan because if that happens, I won't be able to forgive myself."

All she said really shocked Ivan. He never knew he made her feel this way and to think that she wouldn't think too much about his success, he was wrong after all and he feel guilty that he hasn't even thought about her in this. All his focus was on his football journey. He felt deeply sorry for himself. He has been doing all this to her and he didn't even feel alot of remorse as of then.

." I'm sorry..." Ivan begin then went silent

Lucy who couldn't take his silence anymore end the call.

Ivan picked the first thing beside him then threw it across the room. He yelled out in pain. He failed her, he really failed her. No she'll be thinking he doesn't value her at all.

He tried calling her line but she wasn't picking. He tried his luck multiple times but still to no avail. He groaned out loud.

" I'm sorry Lucy" he said into thin air.

Lucy wept uncontrollably. She couldn't believe that Ivan didn't even say anything. He made her feel stupid for pouring out her heart which is why she refused to pick his calls.

" I hate him" she said in-between tears " why does he always makes me feel this way?why?!"

Lucy's phone kept ringing and she refused to pick up thinking it was Ivan not until a knock got her attention. She wiped her tears, didn't want anyone to know that she was crying.

" Who's there"

" I'm the one Lucy. Your mother"

Lucy's eyes open twice there size that she felt as if her world would collapsed right now .

" I'm coming"

She wiped her face again with the back of her hand . Then tried stretching her face in what seem like a smile .

"Mom!" She screamed pretending to be happy. She was happy to see her mom but the thing is the timing. Her timing isn't just right at all.

Abby's mom drew her in for a tight hug "I've missed you so badly dear"

" Come in! Come in."

" Alright "

Lucy collected her hand bag and together they entered into the room.

" Mummy! " She hugged her so tightly " I miss you mummy"

Lucy's mom hugged her back that she wish she shouldn't let go " what have I done to you Lucy? You don't even call nor even send a text message. Have I done something to deserve this treatment from you?"

Lucy felt guilty " I'm so sorry mom. School has kept me so busy that's why"

" So busy that you can't even check on your blood mother?!"

" Please forgive me mom" she apologized. Here she was blaming Ivan when infact she also did same to her mom

" I've forgiven you dear. I was only wondering whether my daughter forgot that I existed which is why I came to pay a visit" her mom explained.

Lucy hugged her mom ones more " there is nothing I can say than I'm sorry mom. I swear I was about coming home to pay you a visit but before I know it , things kept on stopping me . I'm so sorry mom"

" I understand that school can be what it is at time. By the way your apartment looks nice. Where is your room mate?"

" She went to class"

"Okay"

Lucy placed her head on her mom's lap " I miss you alot mummy."

" Miss you more dear"

" By the way mom, have you heard anything from Abby or her parents?"
