" mom you didn't answer"

Lucy's mom signed " I really don't know dear. Abby's mom just went MIA without even informing me or anyone. I'm still in surprise that she can actually do that to me of all people"

Lucy sat upright. Now she really felt it, her mom does feels lonely and it pains her to know that.

" I wish we know some of their relatives. We would have asked them about their where about"

Her mom nodded in agreement " you're right dear. We would have at least gotten a clue from them. Last I heard was, her senior brother requested for her to come live with him. He built a big house that can accommodate them all. But I really don't know how true it is."

" Everything just seems confusing. Abby didn't say anything to me and now her mother didn't say anything to you Mom. I just hope they're not in any form of danger or some sort. While we were at high school, Abby always have a dream to school abroad and I don't know why my instinct keeps on telling me that she isn't in Nigeria as of now"

" You might be right dear but let's leave everything to time. Time will tell soon enough. We'll get to see them soon enough" her mom concluded.

Lucy nodded " yeah that's true"

" So tell me dear, what is your relationship status?" Lucy's mom wiggled her brows as she asked.

Lucy groaned " why the question for God's sake"

Lucy's mom laughed " so I don't get to ask you that?"...

" God mom! You just won't stop" she sighed " ok fine I'm in a relationship "

" Wow that's nice . With who?"

Lucy looked at her mom like she got two heads " why are you asking as if you don't know who"

Her mother was still confused " with who , you've not yet answered me ?

" Mom with Ivan ofcourse" she said it like it wasn't something new.

Hem" Bu...but I thought you guys have broken up since he's schooling abroad"

Lucy scratched her neck " no we're still together"

" Oh dear" she was surprised " I never knew. How are you coping with all the long distance relationship"

Lucy shrugged " I'm managing "

"Hmm, could that be the reason why you were crying earlier?"

Here she thought her mother didn't notice the tear on her face.So she noticed.

" Mom I wasn't crying" Lucy denied

" I'm not stupid , I saw the tears, I just pretended not to see it"

" Please mom let's not talk about it right now "

" Oh! So it's true then, he made you cry. Lucy why must you force yourself to be in a relationship with someone? You're too good to do this to yourself. I'm not saying Ivan isn't a good man. All I'm saying is if this relationship makes you cry countless time it's time you runaway from it. Life is too short to waste your time on something that only brings pains."

" Mom please just stop it"

" No dear! You need to hear this. You my daughter are beautiful and no man has the right to treat you like this. You're growing older not younger and I don't want you to pass through what I your mother passed through."

" Mom I'm happy with Ivan. Couples pass through hard times. It makes the relationship stronger" she pouted

Lucy's mom couldn't believe what was coming out of her daughter's mouth. She is talking as if she isn't wise at all. She doesn't blame her, loves does that to people especially the newly couples.

" Oh dear"

" Mom I just love Ivan so much and I don't think I can ever live without him and it scares me how things is moving right now . We all have our dreams and I'm happy that Ivan is achieving his dreams but at the same time it's affecting me in the process. It's affecting our relationship. I feel as if the connection we had before isn't the same with now. I'm scared outta my mind mom. Please help me out here. I feel really lonely" Lucy cried out.

Lucy's mom is pained. She dragged her daughter for a tight hug. Even she herself was about to cry but she had to control this. This made her remember her husband, he was a good man not until that accident on that faithful day. Although, they both have passed through some hardship but were still able to work things out among themselves.

" Everything will be alright"

" When mom. At times I cry myself to sleep thinking about my relationship with ivan. I always feel as if I'm only wasting my time atimes. All the fun I'm suppose to be having as an adult i haven't been having them all in the name of I don't want to cheat on Ivan. It's just too much to take in and already getting tired of everything.

" What do you really want dear? What exactly will made you happy? I'm not saying you should end up hating Ivan, all I'm saying is you two need to talk wisely. You all have a life ahead and you trying to stop things which you should have done might cause damage in the future. " Her mom adviced

Lucy wiped her tear stained face with the back of her hand. She looked at her mother in the eyes " what do you suggest I do mother?please help me out here?"

Her mother sighed " the decision is in your hand dear. Do what will make you happy. Something that will open your eyes to lessons of life. Life isn't about being in a relationship, there are things more to life than that."

"I'm still confused mom. I don't want to do something that I'll later regret" Lucy said.

" You won't regret if you decide wisely"

Lucy exhaled " I really don't know what I'll do without you mom. You're my back bone forever."

Her mother chuckled " that's why I'm your mother . I'm always meant to protect you always dear"

Lucy chuckles " I can't believe what a bad daughter I am. I didn't even offer you anything."

" Now that you remember, you can still offer me something. I still remember how lazy you can be with cooking. I want to taste my daughter's food, go ahead and start preparing it while I wait for your roommate.

" Guy calm down"

" How can I calm down Williams! She isn't picking her phone and it's scaring me. I just pray she hasn't made a decision".

Williams raised a brows " what decision?"

He gave Williams a look that says ' you should know already'

" Do you really think she'd break up with you just like that ?it seems you don't know Lucy enough then."

Ivan groaned " I really don't know what to think anymore. It just scares me alot"

" Lucy will never make that sort of decision on her own. She's this kind of person that loves to do things amicably and I really respect that about her. She really is a gem Ivan and my advice for you is to please respect whatever decision she makes" Williams advice

" What if I disagree with the decision? What if it's something that'll end our relationship?"

" You'll have to take it as it is. You have enough time to think things through "

Ivan collapsed on the bed " I just want to hear her voice. I really want to know what she's thinking and what's running in her head right now . I really want to know man"

" Patient is the key to whatever is on ground right now"

" Patient! Patient all the time. I'm tired of that patience. It's sophisticating me Williams"

Williams looked at his in pity " this is my problem with you Ivan. You always want things to be done on time and you always forget that not all things are meant to be fast resolved. Somethings actually needs a lots of time and Patience exactly what you and Lucy are going through right now"

" Ok fine I've heard you. I'll try my best to be calm and patient"

" Good for you"

JAMES POV

James woke up to this pain in his abdomen which he's been battling with for days now but he never told anyone about it, not even family and friends. He was scared of been pitied and scared of how many people will be hurt when they find out.

Abby his girlfriend suspected something but she never knew what it is actually Because at times when they are having a conversation, James will suddenly start groaning as if in pains and if she ask what the matter was he'll always look for a lie to cover it up.  He's been doing it constantly now.

James let out a painful sigh " I don't want to die like this " he said to himslef. He has no roommate which made him easier to not get noticed.

He took a sharp breath then relax his back at the head board. He took his drugs which was issued to him by the doctor when he went for a test last week. He was told to come for the result  today and now he's finding it really hard to get up.

It's time like this he wishes his best friend was here,ivan. Ivan was more like a brother to him than a friend and he is the only one he's more closer to among their crew. He always know what to say to calm him down.

James phone vibrated beside him. When he saw the name written on the screen he smiled. He composed himself before picking it up .

" Hey love"

He does miss her and also feel guilty for not telling her about his health issue. He didn't want her to worry most especially because she's writing her exam and didn't want his ailment to be a hinder.

" Hey. You sound off"

He rolled his eyes already use to this her investigator side. She never miss any suspiciousness. Abby is really full of drama and that's exactly what he loves about her.

" Sound off as in how ?"

" I don't know " she said " the way you said love just sounds strained"

He chuckles " you'll never stop this your investigating side "

" Whatever" he imagined her rolling her eyes. She does that alot.

" I love you too" he said to irritate her more

" Rubbish"

" It's like you called me up to insult me "

" Just shut up"

" Okay ma"

" Be serious for ones Ivan. There is a reason why I called you"

" Okay I'm sorry. So why did you call me up, I'm sure it must be serious" A pain shot up but he tried his best to contain it .

" I have this dream last night that Lucy is in pain"

James furrowed his brows confused " it's just a dream"

" I know James. I think it's time I come home for a visit. My uncle that held my mom hostage has been maltreating her James and it scares me alot"

" Just calm down Abby. You know how your mom suffered to see that you runaway from this uncle of yours and now you're saying you want to come back? Don't put your mom's plans for you in vain. She never wanted you to go through the hardship she's going through right now that's why she tried all means to send you abroad. Please be patient Babe, you only have one more year to go then you can come home to visit" he advised.

" But it scares me how I don't get to talk to my mom the way I like. Infact he is always watching her and I'm not liking it one bit. I wish I can also bring my mom here, things would have been okay." She said sadly

James felt bad for her that sometimes he has always wanted to go to this uncle's house and rescue her mother but abby always stop him. She is scared of what her uncle will do. The man his rich and also have ears around and it'll hurt her if anything bad happens to James.

" Everything will be fine"

" I've been thinking about something lately "

" What's that " James asked

" I think it's time I reunite with Lucy. I've missed her so much"
