" Lucy don't put words in my mouth please" Ivan pleaded

" But that's what you're implying. You saying you don't know what to say sounds as if you're already giving up on this relationship" Lucy vent out.

" Enough lucy, please. I'm trying my best here Lucy but you seems to want to make everything even more harder than it is. I should be the one angry right now after what you did but you're here blaming me for something I didn't even say for crying out loud. Can't you see that I'm trying to keep calm!"...

Lucy went quiet " I said I was sorry. You of all people should know me best. I'll never cheat on you. What you saw last night was just drunk Lucy, i wasn't in my right senses as at then. Please forgive me Ivan. I'm deeply sorry" she softly said.

They both went silent.

" I love you lucy. I mean, I still do!" He broke the silence " I've never loved anyone like I do you and it scares me alot. I know this distance relationship of a thing is also  causing alot of problems but all I want is to be with you Lucy. My heart beats for you and you alone "

" I'm sorry" she sniffles

" I really want to be with you, I do but..

What he was about to say scares her " but what? "

" I've already forgiven you. I know it was all drunk Lucy "

" Thank you" she breath out

" But?"

She never saw this but coming" what is it?"

" I'm giving you a chance to speak. A chance to make up your mind lucy. I don't want you to feel tied down, I know you have your own life to live and I don't want to be a hinder to that especially now that we're both adult. "

" What are you trying to say Ivan"

He let out a loud breath" Do you still want to be in this relationship with me ? Do you think you can cope for another one year. Do you Lucy?"

She need not to be asked twice . Lucy knows what she want, she only want to spend the rest of her life with him and was also ready to wait no matter how much it might take. She knew it'll still hurts not to see him for another extra year but she was ready for the wait. She will wait long enough just to be finally with him.

Ivan anticipated for her response.

" I want to do this Ivan. I'll wait for your arrival no matter the years, I don't care. I only want you to please promise me , promise not to hurt me Ivan because it will hit hard if you do. Don't make me feel useless for waiting , please ."

Ivan was happy to hear that she'll wait because he doesn't seem to know what he'll do if she doesn't. This is his life we're talking about, the woman who'll birth his kids. The love of his life.

" Thank you so much Lucy and I promise to always be faithful for the rest of our lives. Just one more year and we'll be done with this distance shit. I'll be able to finally hold you tight just the way I like "

Lucy let out a chuckles. It wasn't funny but she found it funny " I really miss hugging you, kissing you and doing lots of stuff with you?" She blushed

Ivan smirks, knowing fully well that she can't see him but have a hint that she knows he was smirking " Wooo! Stuffs as in how ?"

She blushed even when she knew he can't see her " stop it Ivan"

" Stop what? What have I done this time ?" He said with a hint of mischief.

" Stop making fun of me "

" Who said I was making fun of you. I can never do that and you know that " he chuckled.

" Stop"

" Ok fine " he raised a hand up " I'll stop only if you promise to send me millions of kisses right now "

She gasped " how do you expect me to do that ?"

" Through the phone,how else?"

She groaned "you just  won't stop. I hate you for that "

" and I love you babe"

She almost coed to that " you're such a charmer in your own way. Just make sure you are only charming to me alone and no other person"

He saluted " Yes ma. I have no other but you, trust me on that"

" Good"

" So how is your room mate ?Hope we're not disturbing her?"

She almost laughed" Disturbing who? Someone that had been disturbing me since last night . Infact she is having a lecture as we speak. I'm home alone"

Lucy felt guilty for not telling him that jack came to see her in the morning. She knew if she say it, another argument might arise and she wasn't ready for any of that.

" Wow really?"

" Yep"

" So that's good then. I can atleast talk the Whole day with my girlfriend."

She giggles " Do as you pleases"

" Yeah right. I'll do as I please"

She smiled, happy to finally have this kind of conversation with ivan

" I love you" she blurted out surprisingly herself

" Love you more "

They both smile as if seeing each other's reaction.

" So, have you been hearing from Thomas?" Lucy asked . Thomas, her ex but he's now in a relationship with her cousin sister.

" No. I've lost contact with him. What about Linda your cousin, remember she's his girlfriend, she knows everything you might want to know " Ivan said almost scowling.

Lucy noticed the jealousy in his voice " Wow look who is jeolous! I can't believe you're still jeolous of the poor soul. You need to take a chill pill Ivan! It's like two years now and you're still this jealous?!" She chuckled

" You can't blame me. How do you expect me to feel when my girlfriend is asking about her ex from me ?"

" God! Ivan?! It's just a harmless question. You know that "

" You know I don't like it when you mention that guys name. It's annoying"

Lucy burst out laughing " are we seriously doing this right now . I thought you are over it so you're still on it up till now! Funny you "

" It's not my fault. It would have been better if you ask about the guys not Thomas please. The guys are the only friends I know not that dimwit" he said bluntly.

" You're not nice at all. You know that right?"

" I don't care"

She laughed " you're insufferable"

Ivan smiled knowing fully well that she was right . He himself knew he was insufferable. It's funny how they argue and reconcile immediately. Their relationship is really a one hell of a relationship.

" I really miss you" he said

" I do too"

A knock was heard on Lucy's door " uhm Ivan can you please give me just few secs, someone is by the door"

" No problem at all. We'll talk later "

" Alright" Lucy ended the call.

The person by the door was still knocking "I'm coming"

She hurriedly went to open the door and to her surprise it's non other than the person who caused her fight with Ivan. Jack.

" What do you want ?" She didn't mean to be rude but remembering what she and Ivan talked about , she's trying to avoid any problems from happening.

Jack looked shocked " Did I do anything wrong?"

She forced a smile "uhm no but I just didn't expect that you'll come back"

" At least can I come in so we can talk?"

" I..talk about what?"

Jack stared down at her confused " is there something you're not telling me Lucy?did I do something wrong?"

She breath loudly then decided to allow him to come in " ok fine. Come in."

He entered but still wondering what the matter could be . He was here earlier and nothing like this happened but why was she behaving like this now ?.

Lucy went into the kitchen to drop the food on the fire. She had long forgotten that she put something on the fire. She finally came out to join jack in the sitting room.

Jack gave her a calculating look " just say it already Lucy. I know there is something bothering you or something I might have caused"

She blew out a breath " ok fine . Yes there is something"

" Ok shoot "

"Why did you play along with me yesterday's night when I had that video call and  you weren't drunk at all"She started

" I'm sure you know he is my boyfriend" she glared.

" Is? That means you've not broken up then. That's a good thing then" he stated flatly

She was shocked by his behavior " why do you sound that way?and you still haven't answered my question"

Jack rubbed the bridge of his nose in annoyance" what do you want me to say Lucy?I never knew he was your boyfriend"

" Like really?" She raised a brow

" Look I'm not ready for your shenanigan. I only went out for just an hour and here you're attacking me with things I really don't know . I thought he was just a friend that was jealous to see us together. If I had known that he was your boyfriend I wouldn't have gone along with you. I'm sorry ok"

She sighed " I've said this before and I'll say it again jack. You know you and I can't date. You're just a friend to me and that's all. Please don't go about creating images in your head. I have a boyfriend . Please just stop whatever It is that is running in your mind "

Jack laughed " like seriously you think I can date you? You must be joking then. I don't fancy you like that lucy, I also see you as just a friend and that's it's

She released a breath she didn't know she was holding " Good. Since we're both on the same page, it's settled then"

He nodded " yep. So what can I have for launch? I'm terribly hungry!"

She giggle " don't allow Sarah to hear you if not you'll vomit what you're about to eat. Let me go get the food"

" Ok" he forced a smile.

Williams was surprised to see a whistling Ivan in the kitchen. He raised a brows then cleared his throat to get his attention.

" Someone seems happy. I can see that "

Ivan chuckles " oh don't start with me right now . When did you get in. I didn't hear any sound"

" Not long. I just walked in now. It looks as if you and Lucy have settled your differences?"

" Yep we have " he answered as he stir the egg on the fire

" That must be good then. So now I can finally rest, I don't have to keep baby sitting a sad Ivan"

" Common man. I wasn't sad "

Williams raised a brows challenging him to say that again.

" Ok fine I was moody, I agree but I wasn't sad."

" What's the difference? So please just accept it, you were sad and was ready to chop off my head if I had come hard on you" joked Williams...

" Just leave me alone. As you can see I'm cooking" Ivan turn off the gas.

" I hope I'm having a taste of this goodness?"

Ivan chuckles as he set two plates on the counter " you would except if you stop disturbing and annoying me "

" I promise, I won't . Infact let me go and change" he ran off to do the needful

Ivan could only shake his head at his friends behavior. All in all he's still a good man. Williams is like a brother he never had. He has been there for him since those times when he lost his sister Emily. Her death did took a toil on him that things weren't going smoothly for Ivan then. He was broken beyond repair. Being alone in a foreign country as at then was something he never want to think about. God then sent William his way and things began to go back to normal.

William helped ivan to forget his sister's  death. Since then Ivan has been so grateful to his new friend who then turn to a brother. A brother he never wish to be far away from

" You better hurry up if not I'll finish the food"

Lucy couldn't help the blush. She let them show freely without a care. Sarah has been at her case since she came back from lectures. She has been teasing the hell out of Lucy.

" So you won't tell me what you guys talked about, lover girl " Sarah stated

" Will you please stop calling me that , it's annoying. You can't go on calling me lover girl!"

Sarah scoffed " when you refused to say anything, what do you expect."

" Whatever"

" So how far with Jack. Did he come here" asked Sarah

Lucy nodded " yep he did "

" Did you or did you not give him food to eat?" asked Sarah sternly

Lucy was surprised by the sternness chuckled " yes I gave him food"

" But how could you after I told you not to give him food" she pouted " that guy is like a dog, he eat whatever he sees and if you keep on giving him food, then just know that you'll always be receiving a visitor"

" But I don't see anything bad in that . He is your cousin"

" Who cares. You really don't know who jack is that's why you're supporting him."
