Chapter 16: Chapter 16

**

Classes ended sooner than I thought ,i bid Abby and Laila goodbye. I left for my work place coz today is my shift .

On reaching the restaurant, it was filled up with customers and that mean alot of work is waiting for me inside.

"Hey Alex, miss me" I announced my arrival to Alex who was by the counter side. She smiled at me and gave me a very tight hug. I so much love this girl,  she is my other bestfriend after Abby. Even with the two years age difference she never sees me as a kid.

I went to change into my work uniform. The uniform  is short but not slutty short, it fit me nicely.

"Come on girl ,please attend to table 4, 5 and 6" she ordered .i was about to do as I was told but she stopped me " a piss of advice, your guy is here" with that, she winked and left

I stood confused about what she just said, who is my guy?  I just have to find out on my own then. I shrugged and left to attend to the tables.

I started with table 4 and 5,i took their order and made my way to the last table which was table 6.

I was writing down something on the notepad in my hand not aware about the outstretched leg on the way.

"ouch" I tripped on the first person close with eyes closed in fear.

" who would have thought that we would meet here again " the same familiar annoying voice I'm used to uttered in my ear

I felt shivered run all over my body coz of how deep  his voice sounded . I quickly pushed myself up and straighten my clothes .

This is so embarrassing. I can't believe I just stumbled on Ivan in front of the customers and the worst part is that his friends were passing silly comments.

" hey luuucy" one of them stressed out jokingly.

I tried to avoid Ivan's smirking face but what he said next made me glared at him

" you were just eager to hold on to me, darling. Don't even use the excuse that you tripped " he cockily muttered and his friends burst out in laughter.

" you're unbelievable. I can't believe you'll think of something like that in a situation like this "

" oh really, then what else do you want me to think about. If you were competent enough, you would have watch were you're going "

Calm yourself Lucy don't be angered by him. This is your work place, always remember that customers are always right.. I mentally lectured myself.

I won't give him the satisfaction of seeing me snap. I put on the fake smile I could muster and turn to his friends.

" what would you like to have?" I asked for there orders. It's best I avoid Ivan and right now I can see how he is boiling inside coz of my lack of attention for him.

They all gave me their orders except Ivan and I went into the kitchen to get it. Immediately I got to the kitchen, I tried calming myself. I don't know what  Ivan is playing at  and here I thought what happened after the party might at least open way for a new friendship for us but now I can see that he hasn't changed one bit. He doesn't care about what I confessed to him.

" hey are you alright? " I quickly came out of my thoughts. I look up at a concerned Alex with the best smile I could muster.

" of course, I'm ok"

" you don't need to lie, I saw what happened earlier "

" it nothing really. Alex, you don't need to bother yourself, I'm fine" I reassured her.

" OK then, if you say so" she gave me one last look before she went out of the kitchen.

I took their order and put it on the tray in my hand. I breath in before going to give it to them.

" here is your orders " I gave each of them there order. Ivan wasn't on his seat , shrug, maybe he went to the restroom.

" thanks" they chorus and with that I left for the restroom coz I've been feeling pressed for the past one hour. I rushed to the restroom and finally relived myself. I got out few minutes later and wasn't aware of the figure standing outside the restroom with folded handed.

" ahhhhhhhh" I screamed in fear and he quickly covered my mouth which made the scream come out as a muffle.

" let me go" I said but it came out as a muffle coz if Ivan hand over my mouth.

He thought about it for a second before letting me go.

" you're crazy. How dare you give me a scare" I glared.

He chuckled " you should have seen how scared you were"

" do you think this is a laughing matter? You can just act like that and not expect me to scream in fear" I scoff

I walk past him but he quickly held me back " wait" he said

I drag my hand out of his hold " what do you want. After the stunt you pulled  in front of the customer,dont you think I have had enough of your games. Just leave me alone, ivan"

Something like shame passed through his face but he covered it up quickly with a smirk " what stunt are you talking about ?"

I looked at him unbelievable " so you want to act innocent right now. Anyways, I don't even have time for all this nonsense " I tried side passing him but he held me back again

" leave me alone"

" OK, look I know I shouldn't have said what I said earlier in front of the customers,so I'm sorry for that"

" good, now move let me pass"

" I apologize already but you still look angry" he playfully pout

" and I said good, what else do you want me to say" " oh! do you expect me to hug and kiss you that everything is now alright? Then you have something coming if you think that will happen."

" what else do you want me to do? " he ask

" leave me alone. It's as simple as that"

" OK fine. If that's what you want then to hell wi ......

I left not waiting for him to finish his statement. Stupid,stupid,stupid,stupid that's who he is.

Atleast ,I had expected him to stop me but he didn't. I'm done playing his games.

" honey don't forget to take your swim suit and shorts ,most especially the black bikini. It would look good on you" mom shouted from the kitchen. I can't just believe this woman. It isn't as if I'm going to some pool party.

" mom" I groaned " it just an excursion not some pool party mom" I rolled my eyes.

" but still dear, who knows ,you might find your new boyfriend there"  l know their was a hint of smile as she said so.

The way she talks about me having a boyfriend this days is really surprising. Mom was never like that but I really don't know what actually changed.

After closing my bag pack ,I took the small traveling bag am taking along with me to the excursion. The school principal told us all to meet in school before 2pm. We are taking the school bus.

I closed the door behind me and walk to the sitting room with my little traveling bag.

" dear, you're all set already ?" mom asked as she came to the sitting room to join me on the couch .

" yes mom,when it clock 1.30pm ,I'm leaving "

" alright and I hope you didn't forget the black bikini " she smirked

" mom" I drawled, already feeling shy and mom laughed at me.

" cut it out mom"

" what, I'm only stating the fact. " she said with a small smile and moved closer to me on the couch.

" Dear, I know you're surprised about this change of mind of mine. I just don't want my over strictness to push you to the wrong part. I know you're now a beautiful young lady and I also know that you have men at your neck disturbing you. I know I'm not lying, all I'm trying to say is that it is normal to have a boyfriend at your age but there is a rule apply to it. I don't want you to ever try loosing your virginity to any man  before marriage.  Do I make myself clear? " she said in her own motherly tone.

" moooom" I shyly groan.I wanted saying "I don't have anyone " but I decided to just smile at her and gave her a hug.

I pull away from the hug first and mom left to the kitchen, to continue her baking. Then it clicked that I haven't called Abby. So I called her and when she picked on the second ring, I asked her if  we  should go to school together in her car but she said she has an errand to run . she will meet me in school. Laila already told us yesterday in our group chat that her mom is driving her to school today,which  means we would all meet in school.y
