Naina's POV

As soon I saw Mom I hugged her and tears started rolling down my cheeks.

"I missed you Mom. I missed you so much,” I said as I felt her hugging me back and caressing me.

"Shh… calm down…It's okay,” she said breaking our hug.

"Let's go to my house and then we will talk,” she said.

Her house?

I remembered the day we spent in her house before everything changed.

And what if she got angry at me and throw her out of the house ?

"Naina...please.." she pleaded and I nodded in a yes.

Because I can't say no to her.

After spending time with her I realized this would have been my life if my Mom was alive.

Yes I loved Kamla aunty but for me she was always my aunty.

"Okay,” I said and we sat in an auto.

The whole ride we were silent but she held my hand tightly as if she was afraid that I will leave.

After almost fifteen minutes we reached home and she asked me to sat on a sofa and gave me a glass of water and sat beside me.

"How are you?" she asked.

"I am fine,” I said taking a sip of water.

"But you don't look fine,” she said as I kept the glass on the table.

"I was so shocked when I went to meet both of you but you were not there. I asked Ranveer but he didn't tell me anything,” she said.

Ranveer.

I heard this name after so many months that it felt odd.

In my mind I have taken this name millions of time but for the first time I am hearing this name.

How is he?

Is he fine?

"I called you so many time but you were not picking the call. What happened? You both were so happy? What changed?" she asked but I didn't say anything.

"He is also not fine. Day and night he is working. He shows he is fine but I know he is not fine. What happened?" she asked and the tears which I was controlling rolled down my cheeks.

She hugged me.

"Shh... everything will be fine,” she consoled me.

"I love him. It's my fault. Everything is my fault. I ruined everything. I ruined our relationship,” I told her as she was caressing my back and asked me to calm down.

I broke our hug and decided to tell her everything.

"You should have told her everything when you got a call from Sameer,” I was surprised because this is the first thing she said after listening to everything.

"You are not angry?" I asked.

"I know you must be angry but that time I was stupid enough to not use my brain and follow everything Sameer says because I thought I had feelings for him and I could do everything to get rid of Ranveer and be with Sameer but everything changed when I started knowing Ranveer I fell in love with him as he showed me the true meaning of every word like-love, respect, trust, commitment,

acceptance, care, loyalty,” I continued without giving her a chance to speak.

"I know you are wrong but I can understand. You were just a girl who craved for love and you were happy when your crush Sameer confessed your love for you but Ranveer showed you what true love is and you understood Sameer never loved you,” she said.

"Yes Ranveer showed me the true meaning of love but I ruined everything,” I said.

"Do you want me to talk with him?" she asked.

"No,” I shouted.

"I hurt him a lot. He is happy without me,” I explained.

"Do you really think he is happy without you?" she asked.

"He wanted the divorce,” I said.

"He is miserable Naina, he never goes to home, he spends his day and night in office and he even asked Daya to not come. He told me that there is work pressure so he is staying at office and he told me he is ordering take outs but I know the real reason Naina. He is not fine without you. When I asked him about both of you he just said one line that things were not working out between both of you and asked me to never bring the topic again,” she said.

He stays at office?

He gave Daya uncle leave?

Things were not working out?

I did everything to explain him, to make him understand, to make things work.

"Mom, he loved me but now he doesn’t love me,” I said cutting my thoughts off and she took a deep sigh.

"Anyways I will not come between both of you but thank you for sharing everything with me,” she said.

"I called you Mom, right?" I said and she smiled.

"Thank you Mom for being their for me. You listened everything and I know somewhere you are hurt by what I have done but you never got angry at me. You understood me and my feelings and you showed me that Mom is not the one who only gives birth but she can be your mother in law too,” I said as I held her hand tightly.

"Trust me I am lucky to have a mother in-law like you. I have always heard everyone saying mother in law can never become your Mom but now I am understanding that a good human being can be a good daughter, a good wife, good sister, good mother and a good mother in-law. Thank you for showing that mother in-law can be a good mother too,” I expressed my feelings for her.

"Just promise something to your mother,” she said.

"Anything."

"You will always pick my call,” she said as she held a hand in front of me.

"Promise,” I said giving my hand in hers.

"Mom I am feeling too tired. Can I lay my head on your lap?" I asked and she looked at me surprisingly and I could see her controlling her tears and then she patted her lap and I laid on her lap and she started stroking my hair.

For the first time I was feeling so relaxed.

I opened my eyes and I felt that someone was stroking my hair. I looked at the time and was surprised that I had slept for two hours on Mom's lap. I immediately woke up.

"Sorry. I don’t know how I slept. Your legs must be paining,” I said.

"No problem. I loved when you slept on my lap,” she said.

"I love you. Thank you for not getting angry at me and understanding me,” I said and before she could say anything her mobile rang.

Mom looked at me and then picked up the call.

"Hello Mom,” I heard his voice after so many days and I realized she put the call on speaker.

I am hearing his voice after so many days.

In my head I have heard his voice thousands of time but I am feeling so happy after hearing his voice in reality.

"You reached Jaipur?" Mom asked.

"Yes Mom. I called to inform you that I reached Avni's house,” he said.

Avni?

"Take care,” Mom told him.

"Bye Mom and you also take care of your health,” he said and cut the call.

"He is in Jaipur?" I asked.

"Yes. He is there to finalise a deal and will be back in few days after finalizing it,” she said.

"He is staying in Avni's house?" I asked.

Ranveer and Avni?

Together?

"Yes, whenever he is in Jaipur he stays with her,” she said.

Avni?

He is staying with Avni.

God !

We are not together anymore.

I should not feel bad.

But still I am hurt and angry.

Why is he staying with her ?
